Should I Spend Donuts on Der Krazy Kraut?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s Valentine’s Day in Springfield…and nothing says Valentine’s Day quite like Gil?  Why? (you might ask..) Well because Valentine’s Day is all about selling you stuff you don’t really need but you buy anyway so you don’t look like a jerk….and who better to do that than Gil! ;)  How I know you may be trying to decide if Gil’s new offer is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Turbo Tappin’ Valentine’s Day 2016: Main Questline and Prizes

Hey Howdy Hey Space Tappers!

It’s time to get that lovin’ feeling, as Valentine’s Day has hit our Springfields!  A fun new mini event that’s focused around Grampa and his swinging days!

Of course, as with all events, a questline comes with it to help move us through the ins and outs of the event…and unlock all of the prizes.  As was mentioned on the rundown post this mini event is similar to the Thanksgiving 2015 Event and the more recent Deep Space Homer Event, in that you’ve got to complete various tasks to unlock the prizes.

So let’s take a look at the questline to see just how to unlock all the fun prizes and finally bring Mona back to Springfield…

In-Game Update: Valentine’s Day Update Arrives!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Looks like it’s finally Valentine’s Day in Springfield!  As the Valentine’s Day update has hit our devices….

This is an IN-GAME Update.  There’s nothing to download from the App Store.  It should automatically start to download once you start up TSTO.  If you don’t see it hard close and restart TSTO.  If you still don’t see it…restart your device.

Back with more info as soon as I go through it…for now know that Homer starts things off with a 6s task.  That task is what kicks off the Valentine’s Day Event itself.  It’s a little event..similar to Thanksgiving 2015 and Deep Space Homer.  Complete tasks to earn prizes….Oh and keep Skinner free for the next part…

Oh and Gil’s back too! (sorry no Discount Donut deal…)  Again..going through it all…so will be updating this post as I go.

K guys the post is updated..sorry it took so long, had to take care of the TinyAddict :)   Continue reading

Simple Town Designs: Building a Go Cart Track

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So every once in a while, a period of TSTO downtime pops up and during that, tappers (ourselves included) begin a redesign (or design) phase for their Springfield.  This is something we love to see.  There’s nothing better than seeing tappers expressing their creativity and show casing different ways to build certain areas of Springfield.  That’s the beauty of TSTO!  It’s fluid and you never have to keep a design the same, unless you want to, for very long!  This allows for redesign after redesign and allows you to express your creativity!

Sometimes… we get comments asking for tips and design ideas when it comes to certain areas of Springfield.  While we do have a basic design guide here at Addicts (mostly just tips to get started), we thought it would be fun to create a series of posts based on different ways to design various areas of your Springfield.   Note: In no way do we consider ourselves “experts” at this design stuff, in fact MANY of you could teach us a thing or two about town designs.  These are just fun and different things we’ve come up with, inspired from our own minds or friends towns, to “spice up” our favorite virtual city!

For this edition, I decided it was high time to tackle a design in my B town I’ve been wanting to do for way too long.  It’s been a long time since I first saved this image, but credit goes to a tapper named nehash81.  I honestly don’t remember where I first saw this but my guess is on Flickr.  I’m thankful I at least wrote down the origin ID.  Inspired by this amazing Go Cart Track, I went through it step by step for anyone interested in placing something similar in their towns.

What a Wookiee Wants: Oh No! More Krustyland ideas!

You know… the little joke in the Maggie questline about Krustyland got me thinking about EA’s forgotten little disaster.

Moe Krustyland TSTO DialogueWhy don’t they do more with it? Is there a way to connect it to regular Springfield without the shuttle so people don’t ignore it? I am an admitted theme park enthusiast and I enjoy going to Krustyland. I’m proud of my designing in KL.

Wookiee Krustyland

Even if you feel like Moe about it, the Sideshow You donuts should be enough of an incentive to pop by. I’ve had some ideas for bringing some TLC to the theme park before and actually had a post idea for months that was delayed by events, school, work, and real life in general.  Then I read some of our addicts discussing it in the SUnday Open Thread this morning and realized I should get off my Duff (pun intended) and finally write the post since I find myself with some free time. Of course, I write on said Duff but anyhoo… here we go-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh………..

From the Mouths of Addicts: Chinese New Year, YEAR OF THE MONKEY

The following post was submitted by one of our Addicts Regulars..Totbox.  Perhaps you’ve seen Tot in the comments a time or two ;)…

Hello to all the kwyjibos out there.

I must confess, I know very little about the Chinese cultural traditions regarding the zodiac signs and the up coming Chinese New Year (which starts February 8th and ends January 27th 2017) but I do know I was born when it was the year of the monkey before and thus I’m strangely excited about it’s return.

Unlike George Taylor, I like every Ape I see; from Chimpan-A to Chimpanzee.  Out of all the Animals in the Kingdom I find Monkeys to be the most relatable (maybe even literally)  :p  I like them as a multitude, perhaps in a single barrel. I even like them as a single one throwing barrels.

Before you try to explain to me that Apes and Gorillas aren’t technically Monkeys. I guess I should have pre-warned you that I don’t really care, I’m not a zoologist. I’m writing this for your enjoyment, relax, enjoy and stop interrupting me :p

Now if you want to hear more jokes and observations regarding all this monkey business  click “continue reading”. But first, a joke.

Do you know how to open a monastery door? Continue reading

Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So…here is your Open Thread.  No new Simpsons tonight…actually there won’t be another new episode until next weekend, Valentine’s Day.  However, we had a little update this past week in our own Springfield’s….what are your thoughts on the new Daily Challenges?  Bonuts?  Did you catch our interview with Todd a TSTO Animator?  Really awesome stuff from an extremely talented designer!

It’s Superbowl Sunday!  How will you be spending the Superbowl?  Have a party planned?  Going to one?  Just hanging out and watching anything but football?  Who do you think will win, the Broncos or the Panthers?

Looking for something fun to do if you’re not into football?  Have you checked out Frinkiac yet?  It’s a fun search engine where you can search Simpsons screencaps.  It’s pretty neat, you should check it out! :)

How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting? Ready for the work week to start back up? (I know I’m not!  I’ve been off of work since November 1st…and tomorrow’s my first day back.  I’m not ready!)

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of!  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

Daily Challenges Rundown

2/8/16 Note About Krustyland/Sideshow You Daily Challenge: If you get this challenge, it’s not working.  A TON of players are having issues with it.  My best suggestion is to skip it.  I know it may pay out a donut, but you’re still better off skipping it for today and moving on.  If you’ve already skipped today’s task and this is your second task…best thing I can tell you to do is contact EA.  The good news is not completing the task won’t prevent you from moving on in the challenges, it’ll just hang out in the challenge box until it’s resolved.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So Daily Challenges have hit our games!  A fun replacement for the Daily Combo…tasks to do each day for the opportunity to earn donuts!  And who doesn’t love free donuts?

While we broke down the basics of the Daily Challenges in the rundown post and the Turbo Tappin’ post, now’s the time to break everything down in more detail.  Since I know you guys are all about the details…

So let’s take a look and the finer details of the Daily Challenges…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Gil has once again returned to Springfield…this time bringing a tailgate party to town!  All to celebrate the Big Game!  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
