You’re So Vain You Probably Think This Post is About You: Breaking Down the Vanity Rating on the Conform-O-Meter

the-simpsons-escalator-to-nowhere
What do Escalators to Nowhere, 50 foot magnifying glasses, Popsiclestick skyscrapers & benches have in common? No, it’s not that they’re all things to fall off of, it is that they’re all items in TSTO that add to your Conform-O-Meter’s Vanity Rating.

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

So what other items help add to your Vanity rating? There are actually quite a few. Let’s take a look at how beautifying your Springfield helps your rating…

You can open up your Conform-O-Meter and check where you’re currently sitting with your Vanity rating by tapping the stars on the bottom left of your main screen, while your in Springfield (Krustyland has it’s own Krust-O-Meter which you can read about here).  When you tap on the stars this is what opens up:
conform
Your Vanity rating is impacted by the number of decorations you have in your town that help spruce the place up (or as TSTO says, ‘Buy decorations to beautify your town.’) Although every item contributes a different points value for your town, Vanity is still one of the easiest ratings to max out.

So just how many points do you need to max out your Vanity Rating? Here’s a handy little guide to help you max out at any level:

As you can see there are a number of decorations to aid in your Vanity Rating & EA is always introducing new decorations. So as the levels increase, and the Vanity point requirement increases, you’ll still have plenty of different options to help meet the requirements.

Hope this helps you! I’ll be back with more Conform-O-Meter information in the coming days!

  1. I’ve been searching your site and can’t seem to find an answer to this question: Where can I find how many points I have (and thus how many I have left to earn) for each part of my conform-o-meter?

  2. i noticed Easter fence isn’t on here should it be with the other Easter stuff or is it worth nothing. also what about homers grave is it the same as burns coffin

  3. How often are pages like this updated?

    • We have separate posts for each level and event. Sometimes during busy events…like Terwilligers… it gets hard to keep every lil thing up to date. No worries, a lot of it is on the site, just not linked yet. Just use the search feature in the menu to look for conform

  4. Hmm. It might be time for an update to this one.

    • There is… A LOT of newer conform posts. 😉

Even more coming too. They are NOT simple and do take a LOT of time to pull all the data for every single item brought in the game. 😉

  5. Hi- had some time to do cost/ point for standard items. Sorry I can’t get the formatting right in the comments area but if you copy/ paste into Excel it sorts itself out. Enjoy hiding trashcans all over the place.

  6. Hey,

I really appreciate and enjoy the breakdown of all the points in these conform-o-meter articles. Thanks for putting them together.

Just one suggestion for all your tables. You could add a “Cost-per-point” column (cost/points). For example, for the permanent non-premium Vanity items, the best deal is the trashcan at $2.33 per point. With the worst being the 50ft magnifying glass at $1,000 per point.

    Thanks again.

    • Hi Kyle

Sure I can do that. We do something similar in our premium decorations breakdown with bonus %/donut spent. I certainly can add it to the tables for the conform-o-meter posts.

Thanks for checking us out! Glad you enjoy the posts 🙂

      • That was like 9 months ago…

        • And we haven’t done it yet? Lots of modifications coming to the conform o meter pages…so much new stuff in the game and it keeps changing. We’re working to find the best solution for everything, with out sacrificing how the page will look.

    • The title of the posts that got me here was “maximizing” our conformometer. This should include a $/point so that it can be maximized.

ALSO: if space becomes a premium in later levels (and by visiting Springfields of much greater level/congestion than mine, it appears that this is the case), then a points/square of real estate would also be important. How many trash cans (and their space) would it take to equal a Magnifying Glass’s vanity? Do they compare?

      • If you would like to take all the millions of areas of data to do all that and create one, go for it. 😉

Otherwise the info is on our site broken up in different areas to focus on what we put together. It is up to the individual player if they really want to go any further in the calculations. 🙂

      • If you are looking for the best performance per space, the World’s Largest Zironia is the winner. It’s tiny compared to the large vanity givers.

        • I know this comment is waay late, but why hasn’t a google spreadsheet for this been posted? You know, so you have different people working on different data points, and have one repository…

  7. I love this title. One of my guys was cocky and I told him, but he said he was vain. I always smile and think of my gunner. Back to the article, this is great comprehensive break-down.
