Ah neighbors..those pesky people with out whom you’d have no power tools to “borrow”. And in TSTO they’re the friends you can’t reach 5 stars with out! Your social interaction with your neighbors plays the main role in your Conform-O-Meter Socialism Rating. So by being the social butterfly and having neighbors and visiting them regularly you improve your Socialism rating & you’re that much closer to maxing out your Conform-O-Meter.
The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and XP from everything you collect in the game. When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town. So just how does the Socialism rating work? Let’s find out…..
You can open up your Conform-O-Meter and check where you’re currently sitting with your Socialism rating by tapping the stars on the bottom left of your main screen, while your in Springfield (Krustyland has it’s own Krust-O-Meter which you can read about here). When you tap on the stars this is what opens up:
The game files are a little vague on the details behind how you earn points towards the Socialism rating. Since there are no buildings or decorations that can contribute to this it’s purely based on the tappers social interaction in the game (or as TSTO says “Make friends and visit them”). So just how many points do you need to max out the Socialism Rating? Here’s a hand little guide to help you at every level of TSTO:

So now that you know how many points you’ll need you’re probably wondering how you earn them. Well, as I mentioned above the game files are very vague in just how you earn socialism points. All the files indicate is that Tappers earn 1 point for every social interaction. So based on that information, combined with the “Make friends and visit them” in the Conform-O-Meter box I would assume that it means that every time you visit a neighbor and tap on 3 buildings you earn 3 points.
The best advice I can give you when it comes to the Socialism rating is visit your friends and tap their buildings! If you have any further insight on the Socialism rating please feel free to share in the comments below.
So basically… this page is useless and has no actual idea what the answer to my question is? All you’re saying is “my guess is as good as yours, if you know any better leave a comment”.
Im level 202 and going up frequently, i have lots of friends, and visit them faily, though my Socialism meter is only at 3 stars. Im stuck there since level 60.
My theory is that you get 1 point for each time you visit friend and preform one task. So you can get three times as many points per day by visiting friend and tapping one building then returning than you can doing all three in single visit. Also you can get unlimited points per day by tapping on Sideshow Bob in the default Other Springfield, then leaving and returning since Bob’s appearance resets each time the Other Springfield is entered. Note about Bob is that the first time he appears it is always in the same spot, though he may travel any of several directions, so if you intend to catch him you must rush over immediately upon entering. (For me Bob currently appears below the Sprawl*Mart first, I have no idea if this is true for everyone though.)
I’m level 110 and have max friend level 20 yet my socialism meter is only at 4 1/2 stars I visit friends daily so what else do I need to do?
Just keep visiting friends…that’s the only way to boost it
How many friends are we allowed to have? Also why is it that when you go to some towns the only option is to graffiti them? How does this work?
100. And probably because they just cleared their buildings. Try looking for the Simpsons house or a brown house to tap…

The mistake is in the word “their” where in this case the word “there” would be grammatically correct.

I’m at level 44, have about 2200 FP, and have 1/2 star Socialism. I hadn’t bothered with friends until level 43 when I started trying to max out my stars. Until then, I had 1500 points just from Other Springfield (I would have had a lot more, but I was lazy about visiting). Any idea why it’s not moving?

How I maxed my socialism rating with no friends!
I may be the last on my block to figure this out but I don’t see this posted anywhere else so thought I’d share my experience. I just hit xp level 18 and had 1/2 star for socialism due to no friends ( I know sad right ) and reading this thread it said sideshow bob gave 1 point when tapped on but only after losing 5 points for him showing up( this is how I read the post). With no friends I should never have any points and with 1/2 star I clearly have a few. I also noticed that literally every time I visited my other Springfield, Sideshow was there and in the same place. So on a guess I tapped him, left and re-entered and tapped him again and repeated about 10 times. Back in my Springfield I was up to 1 star for socialism. So long story short, an hour and MANY repeats later I have 5 stars on socialism all from tapping sideshow in the other Springfield a bunch of times.
So that’s how I did it in case anyone else wishes to try it. I’m sure this holds for higher levels as well. No walls or whatever else boosts this rating. Clearly, you don’t lose points for him appearing or this would not work.

Side note my idea came from info all over the various conformity breakdowns not just this one but my ratings did not drop at all in any category throughout this experiment. Extra bonus was all the cash and xp I quickly gained ($52 and 6 xp each time).

My socialism rating hasn’t moved since I maxed out my neighbors a long time ago. It doesn’t fluctuate with my level like Righteousness does. Since there is no change between levels, and I visit my neighbors every day it may correspond with # of neighbors and visits. Where adding adds to the total and tapping/ visiting also helps. I think its a cumulative scheme. Be nice if we could view the totals outside of stars…
