Hello Addicts… Wookiee here and I’ll be your host… your ghost host (muhahahaha) for this portion of TSTO HALLOWEEN 2013!!! While I am nowhere near as good looking as Boobarella, I am so excited about the arrival (finally!) of the update. The leaves of my wroshyr tree are literally falling into the Shadowlands as I type.

AND I FALL ASLEEP… WAKE UP AT 0955 AND LITERALLY AM BROUGHT COMPLETELY ALERT BY AN IOS UPDATE AT 1007 PST.

Anticipation doesn’t begin to describe my state of being as I wait for the update to install and then load. Wowza, update 4.5.0, an additional 44.0 MB bringing the total game size to 189.0 MB. My game finally loads after 11 min and EA gives me the first trick of the season.

Oh well, I am am nothing but a persistent Wookiee, finally got in and immediately heard the new music. AWESOME! The load screen appears to suggest we will have a tie-in to the Burnsum and Baily Circus. Immediately with the music, I see the greyed-out, eerie Springfield with leaves flying through the air. EXCELLENT! If you pay attention, this effect is caused by enormous cloud shadows floating over your town.

Five dialogue bubbles lead you to the build of the Gypsy Fortune Teller Shop with a 24 hour build time. Bunny wrote about this here. So excited! 24 hrs IS a longish time but I’m sure once the build is done, amazingness will begin.

What I wanted to talk to you about it today is the cool themed decorations that we already received FOR FREE. Right from go, other than the new atmosphere in your town, you may or may not have noticed your free gifts from EA. What are they you ask? Trees.

With the Halloween Update, EA went and changed the look of 9 decorations in Springfield. Here they are.

Water changed to a brackish look. The $100 Tree and Apple Tree changed also.

Homer’s Hammock still looks comfy but bye bye shade Homie.

$220 Tree and Orange Tree went zombie too!

$345 Tree and Tree Swing are such poseurs and joined his buddies.

$595 Tree changed too, but I have on good authority that his change is a completely different style and he’s an OG sapling.

Something you may not have realized is the Valentine’s Trees and Hammock also got a makeover, so if you have them tucked away in your inventory, bring them out for some additional fun!

One thing I feel it is only right to say, is that if you go crazy placing the Halloweenesque trees in your town, just be prepared for these decorations to go back to normal in November.

Before I go, I just wanted to say I started this post last night as I tried to pull an all-nighter for the Update (and failed, I’m convinced it was some super secret sleep experiment by EA) and for no good reason (other than normal male silliness) decided to use the Boobarella image.
