Once you reach 1,250 GOO canisters you unlock the 3rd free personal prize in the TSTO Halloween Event…the Vac-U-Bot (for info about the first two prizes check here). Unlike the first two items, the Vac-U-Bot is not a building or decoration. Instead it’s a tool to help you catch more ghosts!
Once you reach 1,250 GOO canisters dialogue will auto-start:
Frink: Congratulations! You’ve just acquired the latest in ghost disposal technology from Frink Removal Incorporated, of FRINC. Homer: It looks like one of those little robots that vacuums up dirt, but it’s completely and utterly different. It’s a little robot that vacuums up ghosts. Okay, let’s such soul. Where does it plug in? Frink: It doesn’t! In a major convenience, it runs for fifteen minutes at a time on two pounds of uranium. Homer: Ooh, that’s lucky. I have a couple uranium rods in my pocket. I put them there to keep my genitals warm.
Now, to activate your Vac-U-Bot you have to tap the ghost icon in the top right corner of your screen. That will create a drop down and the second item will be your Vac-U-Bot. Simply tap on it and follow the on screen instructions.
You tap the scree and keep your finger down and slide it around the screen. It will create a vacuum and suck up any ghosts it sees! Unfortunately, I can’t take a screenshot of the vacuum at work because I need to keep a finger on the screen at all times in order to make the vacuum work. But take my word for it, it’s pretty neat!
I’ve been noticing a few questions popping up in the comments of some posts and, while we try to answer each one individually, I thought everyone could benefit from the answers to these questions. So it’s time for another addition of Addicts Question Corner….
First…I know the community GOO total has climbed over 1 billion and many of you are wondering where your first Community prize is. We’re still working on finding out, as so as we have some answers about it we’ll be sure to post them for everyone! Community GOO Update: Some are now reporting that it’s now back to many of our original thoughts and it’s 5 billion to Unlock the Church of Lard Lad. Don’t worry though, at this rate we’ll be there this weekend! If I have any new info I’ll pass it along as soon as I can!
How many ghosts can be in my town at once? How long does it take for new ghosts to reappear? Well, after checking out the game files, it looks like a total of 20 ghosts can be in your town at once. And new ghosts “re-spawn” every 15 minutes, whether your in your town or not.
If it looks like you’re seeing a decline in ghosts, from when the update first launched, you might be. Don’t forget originally not many of your neighbors had the ghost popping power yet (only if they sped up their Fortune Teller build) so as more of your neighbors can pop ghosts, and visit you, you’ll see a decline in the number of ghosts in your town. Don’t worry though, you’ll make up for it by popping up to 5 ghosts in each of your neighbor’s towns.
Can I place Gremlins in the “Other Springfield”? The answer to this is short and sweet…no. The game will not allow you to place Gremlins in the “Other Springfield” because there’s no one to try and stop them. If you want to place Gremlins in towns you’ll need neighbors. Check our our Add Friends page to find some Tappers looking for new neighbors!
Sometimes when I tap on a haunted building 2 GOO pop out, why? Well from what I see in the game files shows that you’re only supposed to earn 1 GOO per haunted building that you dehaunt. So the only thing I can think of (and what’s seeming to be proven true) is that the amount of GOO that comes out of a haunted building is related to how many times a friend has tapped it while you were away. If a friend un-haunts a building already haunted by the ghosts & another friend comes along and rehaunts it then you’ll be able to collect 2 GOO from one building.
It more all or less evens out because instead of a friend haunting a building (and you collecting a GOO from a new building) they just un-haunted a building that was alraedy haunted. So in the end you earn the same amount of GOO.
Can I access, from the game, the help and prize screens? Yes. Here’s what you do:
Tap the Pumpkin looking torphy on your main Springfield screen.
That will take you to your personal prizes screen (Homer with his arms raised icon)
To view community prizes, and community GOO total, tap on the group icon (bottom right).
If you’d like to review the instructions for the event just tap the ? mark on the top of this box:
That will launch the instructions screen you first saw when you started the event:
Hopefully that helps answer some of your questions! Keep those questions coming in the comments guys, we’ll do our best to answer them as fast as possible!
Wow… this event is awesome! So much stuff to do and so many bodacious items to add to your Springfield.Just wanted to drop by real quick and point out to some of the newer tappers something EA brought back from last year…. the ZOMBIES!
There are two very obvious reasons why the Halloween Update Rocks! Well, if you’re looking for BOOOOBS as the answer. I think two of my favorite reasons are the social aspect of the event AND the fact that you’re here reading what the Addicts Team has to say about it. Thanks!
I’ve had this walkthrough waiting for all you tapperinos as I couldn’t help but rush the quests (to enjoy the dialogue and witty satire of course), figured I’d let all the boys settle down first. OK… enough settling, LET”S GET EXCITED AGAIN
This is going to be a walkthrough about one of the rad premium characters EA gave us as a treat…. Booberella! For 100 donuts (kinda pricey but so worth it), you can add her to your town. As a lot of people have commented that their Springfields are very male dominated, while she may not be the best advocate for female Springfielder rights/intellectual respect, she is another lady AND a pretty one to boot.
EA is once again dropping an in-game update on us. I’m just going through the files now so I’ll let you know if anything has changed, but from what I see so far it’s just more fixes and missing files from the original info. I will update this post once I have more!
For now don’t be alarmed if you see the update in your game…
UPDATE: Finally just got into the game files, sorry guys it’s a little hectic around here!, and it looks like the update just fixed more glitches with some quests. However, it also looks like (according the spAnser) the game files he saw containing a Firehouse were removed BUT game files containing Tennis Marge (minor costume files just showing marge wearing a visor) & Dolph files are in the game. Not sure if an update is coming or they’re just having some fun with our heads! But that’s basically it folks!
We here at Addicts just recently finished the complete The Ghost in the Machine-based App questline (we’ve posted the walkthroughs here (part 1), here (2-4) and here (5-11)) and we’re so excited about a Donut “Easter Egg” hidden inside the questline that we couldn’t wait to share it with you!
EA certainly is giving out treats this year! During Part 14 of The Ghost in the Machine-based App quest (walkthrough here (12-15)) you send Lisa on a quest to so some research at the Library…now here’s the deal:
if you’re typically someone who rushes quests DON’T RUSH THIS ONE. EA has hidden an “Easter Egg” in this part of the Quest and you want to find it before Lisa is done at the library. EA has hidden 6 FREE DONUTS in the Task Bar of the character if you can get them to confess before Lisa figures it out!!
If you’re like me, you most likely assumed it was…Mr. Burns. So tap on Mr. Burns and you’ll see the first option in his task bar is Confess. It takes 6 seconds and rewards you 6 FREE Donuts!
Make Mr. Burns Confess– 6 seconds (rewards 6 Donuts) Make sure you do this while Lisa is STILL solving the mystery.
Once you’ve done it, this auto-starts:
Lisa: Wow, you must be very smart…But I’m going to stay at the library and figure it out for myself. I could never respect myself if I’d just looked up the answer on the internet. (I bet for 6 donuts she would!)
Again, Lisa does not have to be finished at the Library for the questline to continue if you make Mr. Burns confess. So the Quest will continue!
The final walkthrough on this will be posted tomorrow, BUT i wanted to share this info with some tappers who may have rushed things along to complete the questline. This is something the game won’t tell you (although it’s in the files) unless you randomly happen to tap Mr. Burns during this part of the quest…like I did. So be sure to follow the instructions above and claim your 6 FREE donuts from EA!
How’s everyone doing on their GOO collections? By now you should be nearing 1,000 GOO canisters and have already collected your first 2 free prizes. If you haven’t quite reached that level, don’t panic! You still have plenty of time!
There’s so much going on in this new update it’s almost hard to remember there’s an actual main quest line going on as well! In this part of the questline, and going forward, I’ve tried to spell out all of the GOO earning opportunities for you with counts. This should help you realize how much GOO you will earn just for completing the main quest.
When we last left off on the main quest Homer had just brought Maude Flanders back from the dead and boy was she angry! Hard to be happy when Homer kills you with a T-Shirt Gun! Anyway…we pick the walkthrough back up with Maude explaining to Homer why she’s here…. Continue reading →
It’s Thursday Tappers and that means another Attic prize! (For a complete overview on Attic Prizes check out this post) One prize closer to the Homer Strongman costume! The prize should be fairly easy to find, for me at least I found it on my first Ghost tap of the day. Here’s more info about today’s Prize…a Dumbbell:
Just a quick post about something cool….you can find donuts in Ghosts (and haunted buildings, possessed characters, etc) when you pop them! (woohoo free donuts!) I had heard reports of this happening, but I always like to verify it for myself. A short while ago I was tapping in a friends town and out popped a delicious sprinkly pink donut with my purple GOO! Is there anything sweeter?!
So be on the look out for free donuts with your GOO! Another treat from EA this Halloween!
