Tappers 101- Back to Basics: Knocking A Character Out of A Task, With Out Using Donuts

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Back with another Tappers 101 Class, this time we’re talking about how to cancel tasks and free up a character without having to spend donuts.  Way back when Addicts first started I covered this topic using Apu and his 7 Day Kwik-E-Mart shift as an example.  You can find the full walkthrough/how-to of this (with photos) here (you can also find the Halloween edition here).  Here’s the Tappers 101 verison:

You can knock characters out of tasks without using donuts quickly and easily by storing the character and/or building they arrived in Springfield in.  To do this simply tap the 4-way arrow, move stuff, button on your main Springfield.  Then find the building/character you wish to store, tap on it and tap the cardboard box icon.  If a character didn’t come with a building, like the Rich Texan, simply store the building they’re currently located in to knock them out of it.  Or store the character itself by tapping on them.   Again for full details check out the how to post here.

This should help you avoid spending donuts to rush up a character you sent on a task by mistake, this can also come in handy when a new level starts and the character you need to start the update is off on a 24hr task.

For quick reference here’s a guide to which character came with which building hit read more…

From time to time Tappers new and old can get caught up in the game and forget some of the basics, that can cause a delay in your game.  While we have a full New Tappers Guide on Addicts, sometimes you just want the information at your fingertips right away so you can get back to tapping as quickly as possible.  Keeping that in mind, we’ve started a new biweekly column for the “quick hit” information Tappers need to keep the game moving.  Here’s where you can find all of our tips and tricks to help your game move along smoothly.
Most of the topics covered will be from your questions in the comments, so you have something you’d like us to cover in Tappers 101 please feel free to leave it for us in the comments below.

  3. How do I stop a task for homer. I accidently pressed the seasonal task- Make a snowman instead of his 45sec task. Now he is stuck for another 15 hours. I can’t store him or the simpsons house.

    • Unfortunately Homer (and Lisa) are the 2 characters who can’t be stopped because they come with the Simpsons House which can’t be stored. The only way he can be stopped is if the task he is doing is associated with a building that is store-able.

  4. It might also be helpful to note that when you store a Springfield building, and the character associated with that building is working in Krustyland, that character’s task will still go on. The only way to cancel Krustyland tasks is to store the building that the character is working in. (All KL tasks are associated with a building, ex: Krusty’s Promote Krustyburger task is associated with Krustyland Burger)

    • Correct. 🙂

We just wanted to focus more on things going on in Springfield as it seems that is the most common place people want to kick characters out of a task. Such mean people, kicking the characters. Squishing them with our giant fingers. We are quite the abusive addicts. Lol 🙂

  5. Might be worthwhile mentioning that this doesn’t work for Homer and Lisa.

  6. Just before this new level hit, (and I should have checked here first before I did it!) ALL of my Springfieldians were sent to prison for 24 hours. Around 30 of them. Perfect. So I could pocket the prison and knock them all out?!
Good to know, but I think I’ll let them finish this one and get it over with.
Huge pain in the butt when you’re running 4h jobs to get monies for building.
