Well it’s Thanksgiving Eve and did you really think EA would let Thanksgiving go by with out some kind of holiday tie in? This year it looks like we get not one but TWO holiday events. The first tomorrow, on Thanksgiving Day, and the second on Friday, Black Friday here in the US!
From what we can tell from the game files, it looks like FREE DONUTS will be the reward on Thanksgiving and on Friday it looks like Ole’ Gil will finally make his long awaited Duff Promotion appearance in the game!
Sorry for those of you hoping for a Gil donut deal (maybe soon?) looks like this is an offer the Duff Brewery, Springfield Sign and cash (will cost you 300 donuts). Here’s the promo info we could find in the game files:
Note: If you already have either the Springfield Sign OR the Duff Brewery this offer WILL NOT appear in your Springfield.
As is our customary deal we won’t post information about the update itself until it actually hits. Once the update hits the game (should be sometime Thursday November 28th) we will update all of the details on this post. So be sure to check back for more details later!

Note: I play on both a Android phone (my A game) and an Android tablet (my B game). For my A game, on my phone, it started right up. However, on my B game, tablet, the quest didn’t auto start. I had to back out of the app and hard close it (close apps) and restart TSTO. So if you don’t see it auto start for you try hard closing and restarting the app.

At this point if you don’t already have the Duff Brewery and the Springfield Sign Gil will show up with his offer as indicated above. If you have 1 (or both) of those Gil will not appear in your game and you’re Thanksgiving and Black Friday quests are complete.

Just went to buy the GIl deal and I cannot find it anywhere anymore? I see other people are having this problem. I tried all trigger fixes but none were successful. Please help, I want to get the deal. Any word on if there will be a doughnut deal?

Open a ticket with them and try any contact you can. Even calling. The more reports, the more attention there will be brought to it. I’m bugging them too. Lol
IN NEED 300 DONUTS!
I made the mistake of trying to look at duff brewery…when I missed the info it tried to place the item as though I was buying it. I canceled the placement (avoided donut payment) and went back to the premium items and Gil’s deal was gone. I’m guessing I’ll never see it again.
Sorry it’s happening. Try triggering it by going in n out of neighbor towns. Your Krustyland. See if that works.
If not try log out, restart, log back in.
Or Uninstall reinstall app.
Tried all of that including reinstalling the game. I’m betting it’s a bug. Oh well, I bought the casino and sign instead.

I tried to find the offer in my premium items and it is not listed. Just finished the Black Friday quest line and Gil reappeared but still no sign of the back friday offer :-/. Any ideas?
I am sorry this is happening. I am looking into it. Want to see how wide spread it is. In the meantime, you can contact EA but they will make you go through the basic troubleshooting. Essentially log out, Power down and restart your device, then log back in when it reboots. Also try the “trigger” method. Go in n out of a few neighbor towns. Go in n out of your Krustyland. See if that helps to trigger it to re-sync and bring it back.
Should have 3 days to make a choice and buy it.
The last…uninstall and reinstall the app (EA’s go to when troubleshooting)

Ok, so I thought we had three days to decide on the deal…I go into my premium items and no Gil? How long did we have? Did anyone else have this problem? There was a countdown on the clock underneath him. I thought we’d have that time to buy! Help!

Strangely, my moms SF still offers the deal, so I’m very confused. I hope EA fixes this, because no trigger has yet to fix this problem. EA is going to lose out on a lot of money if they can’t fix the offer!

I really enjoy this game but I am a little irritated that because I have bought enough doughnuts to buy the Springfield sign that I am being left out of this deal this leads me to believe that I should not buy any doughnuts to get special items from this point forward because I might be missing out on great offers like this one when my friends are getting them I hope that this is fixed and more consideration is given to us who buy items at the regular price and get left out in the cold for events like this
Yah…you never know when these deals will hit. EA has been VERY covert lately. Harder and harder to see what is coming. We try to help out and find offers before they arrive.

I have the same problem.
I bought the 300 doughnuts and no money, plus the when try to buy the sign and brewery together they cost 360 doughnuts, have contacted EA about it but haven’t heard anything yet.
If you didn’t buy the deal immediately after Gil showed it, the offer is usually just moved into your premium section for purchase.
I didn’t get either the Duff brewery or springfield sign or the money when i bought the black friday deal with 300 donuts I only got the 300 donuts
Check your premium items…see if the offer is in there for purchase. You may just need to buy it now.
As an aside today was the first ‘black Friday’ in the UK, Asda ( a Walmart subsidiary ) has ran it with huge savings on limited items. the savings weren’t too great as far as I can see. It has caused fights and stramash’s a lady broke her wrist.
We have Boxing Day sales but this seems more extreme, I like the sentiment of Thanksgiving but wish BF stays the other side of the pond.

In all honesty, it is not something easily described. A lot of technical jargon and steps involved. It can be quite complex and tricky at times.
Gil shorted my hubs. He got the sign and Duff but the 50k didn’t show up. What gives?
