Note:this is a walkthrough for just the main quest line at this time. Due to the nature of the Christmas update, and the many parts to it, we’ll add any additional walkthroughs separately. So basically this is the walkthrough for the main quest (free) version. Enjoy!

Whew! And with that the main quest for the 2013 Christmas Event is complete!
I’m stuck on “Too much of a good thing – Part 17”. Lisa has destroyed the gift cards and the quest prompt shows done but will not complete or trigger the next part. I’ve tried giving her another job, visiting KL and friends, even tried a different device but nothing works, any ideas??
Hmmmmm… Homer kicks off the next task so mak sure he’s available. Toggling to your friends list might trigger this or back and forth from Krustyland. A couple of my tasks took a little to kick off.
Looks like you already attempted the “Trigger” Method. Have you tried the other basic troubleshooting steps? Reboot? Uninstall? These may be the next best step. Info is in post below. http://tstoaddicts.com/2013/12/02/glitchy-gil-deal/
If not, check to see if Lisa still shows the task available. If it is, send her on it again.
I’ve been at part 19 and not sure if I should go forward. If I finish this quest line early will I stop getting gift cards? I’m still trying to get prizes off the wheel.
Nope, if you finish the quest early nothing will happen. You’ll still continue to earn Gift Cards for the Prize Wheel. Good luck! 🙂
My quest is stuck. Lisa won’t trigger her part in destroying gift cards. I’ve tried closing the game down and opening it again, but I don’t know what to do. I can’t store her or anything.
Honestly, I am at the same spot and Lisa hasn’t prompted the next quest. If I figure it out, I’ll let you know.
I have the same problem. Maybe it has something to do with the sideline quests? Because I unlocked mr plow yesterday and since I have him, the main quest line won’t start. Maybe we need to do a quest of the sideline first and then lisa starts again?
You’ve got to make sure EVERY SINGLE Springfielder you sent to Stampede stores is done. While the task itself is complete, all of the characters have to be done with that specific task (which can be tricky when they’re all running over Springfield) before it’ll trigger the next part. So check to make sure EVERY character is free (that you sent on that task).
If that doesn’t work try hard closing the app (app manager, close app) and restarting it. Sometimes that helps “kick-start” the quest to start. If it doesn’t work right away visit a neighbor and come back to your town…usually that helps to.
PS I unlocked Mr. Plow as well, and while the quest line is in my quest book I’m still able to work through the main quest. So it might be an issue where you just need to hard close the app and restart it. 🙂

Alissa is absolutely right. I just got my quests to progress to the next step. Sideshow Mel was still running around from the previous task lol. Hope you find that errant character stalling your quests.
I gave lisa another quest and when that ended the holiday quest started again. So everything is allright now.
Tip for extra gift cards:
Once you’ve reached Part 18 of the quest line, you can send Springfielders to Hunt for the Simpsons indefinitely (until the end of the event) as long as you do not click on Homer and/or Lisa when they finish Hiding from Springfielders, ending the quest.
Also anyone know why Krusty refrains from joining in the hunt?
My game won’t prompt for part 9 which says make Milhouse build house of gift cards. Krusty already completed part 8. Don’t know what to do, been trying figure it out for 3 days!!
Try storing the Van Houten house in your inventory and then place it again. See if that triggers the task to start. 🙂

if you want xtra cards , all the quests that have you send 12 poeople to do something, send 11, wait abit and send the rest, when the first 11 are done you can send them again because you can make anyone do the quest untill the 12th is done, i sent 26 people on the 4 and 6 hr missions, wil be doing it for the rest
In part 14, you say keep Moe free for the next part. But, in part 15, it says Homer starts. I wonder which it is, because I finished part 14 and had all characters free, but it wouldn’t start part 15, even after I forced closed the game. I sent everyone on 8 hour tasks, and I hope that fixes things.
Well, it resolved itself. I can’t remember if Moe or Homer starts, but I think it was Homer.
I finished the Make Springfielders Overeat quest and none of the characters went inside any building and when they finished I didn’t got the next quest, all my characters are free so I don’t understand what could be happening. any ideas?
It’s normal they’re all running about. No worries there. They’re overeating by visiting every food place in sight and eating all they can. As far as a stand still. Try sending a few more on the task just to make sure it is complete. I know the a few quests look identical with everyone running around. So some may not have finished quite yet. Try a few troubleshooting steps to see if it fixes issue. Go in n out of your Krustyland to see if it triggers the next quest (you’ll see the character finder pop up with the ! Over next person to start task)
If that doesn’t work, log out, restart your device, log back in.
Hi, I’m currently doing Pt. 14 – Make Springfielders Overeat… but instead of disappearing into restaurants, they are speed-walking around my Springfield (the countdown is still on)… is this right?!
That is normal. They are speed eating…at every single restaurant around town. Lol. I laughed and giggled as they did that. 😉

I’ve just reached this stage and though you are asked to send 12 characters to a restaurant you can send many more I sent everyone I could and earnt 17 gift certificates for all of them.

I too sent all whom I was able to send on the pt. 10 & pt. 11 quests now I have the Christmas Raccoon. I am now on pt. 12 (6 hr shopping for loved ones quest) I again sent all able to send on the same quest. I am currently without visiting all my neighbors yet for the day gift card total 18,003. I will advise everyone to please double check your confirm donut spend on the buying section upper right hand corner “i” button click “Confirm Donut Spend” mine reset with the new update(s). Happy Tapping & Happy Festivities. 🙂
AND if you release them ‘slowly’ by tapping the restaurants with just a few visitors (Gilded truffle, Frying D., Nighthawk, Krusty, Skips, Muffin) you’ll be able to make them go again 🙂 so they’ll earn another 17 cards each. Just as long as it has not counted 12 finished tasks, you can send them again.

And I guess the ‘trick’ to sending the Springfielders to get boozed up at Moes is to send 11 in round 1 and when they’ve finished their free beer (SO unlike Moe!) you send everybody and the alien. That should give you the maximum amount of gift cards. Enjoy. Tappy holidays!
Is Part 20 to have 50 presents, or do you get 50 presents drop in your town?
Collect 50 presents is what the task box calls for. I believe it’s specifying to just collect 50 presents from the Present Depot, based on the dialogue before it. 🙂

Have you noticed the $5,000,000 Cubic Zirconia Diamond is gone?
I had not but I’ll see if my kiddo still has it in her menu. That’d be strange if they got rid of it.
Just checked my daughter’s town, she plays freemium and is level 14. The ZIrconia was sitting in her decorations menu. Not sure where yours went but I hope it’s still there.
Does anyone know why the game would not progress to part 2 after the tree is placed? Its says done when clicked but that’s it. I restarted s3 forced closed and deleted cache.
This seems to be a common problem effecting a bunch of tappers. Try the standard troubleshooting like in this prior post. If no luck, follow the steps in the link within the post to contact EA so they know how wide spread the issue is.

My game won’t let me start part 17. It is acting as if I don’t have any other tasks so it gives random characters quests. Any suggestions?
Try going to your neighbors list and back to your town to spark it. Is Lisa free? One of my quests took a little to spark off.
My game wont’ progress me to pt 2. I dropped the present drop but now it seems to be stuck on it. It is showing as done in the task bar but wont’ clear and won’t start pt.2.
hmm try hard closing the App (tasks and close the app) then restart it. Usually that helps “kick start” any issues that may be occurring. 🙂

Awesome update! Happy with the buildings and other content, but EA should release more more land expansions every time they have such a huge update. It just makes it more difficult to lay out your town the way you want, I don’t like having to squish some of my buildings together!
Yes, land expansion is the biggest complaint. They did release more with Halloween but I think with all of the Christmas content it may have been a problem (game crashes) to release more with Christmas 🙂
Can you fast forward these quests by putting away the characters corresponding building??
The only way to fast forward a quest is to use donuts which I would strongly suggest against. There’s 30 days to finish everything which experience has shown to be more than enough time.
Seeing some donuts in the wheel of chance would be cool
10 donuts was the cost to “fast forward” through the activity (without actually doing it). Initially, I thought it had a donut reward, too. 🙁

Maybe I misread – but didn’t the game dialogue say the reward for giving away those first three gift bags would yield 10 donuts? After completing the task, I didn’t receive any. Anyone else? Or was that just my wishful thinking? 🙂

No, it definitely was a donut award that was promised. I thought it was 3, but who knows? I was surprised that it was a donut award (pleasantly), and then surprised again when it gave me GC and XP (unpleasantly).
