A Fatty New Year 2D

So here we are at the end of 2013. So much has happened and changed in my life in this 12 month span. I really look forward to see what the next 12 months have in store for me. It could get interesting.

I know it has been a while since I have done a 2D. Sorry about that. Been busy hopping all over the country from one side to another. My poor 2D creativity was just ITCHING to come out and play.

This 2D is …well…2 fold.

First off, I adore Adi Pose (a fellow reader and Addict of the game). His accent just amused me to no ends. His videos quite enjoyable to watch. I do adore the English/Brits. His emoji/name also reflects a character from my favorite British TV Series, Dr. Who.

Adi pose

Basically people attempting to rid themelves of fat find ways to lose a lot of it. A way that the fat actually “comes to life” in the form of a lil Adipose creature and pops out of the person. It is the 2nd Episode of the 4th Series of Dr. Who, Partners in Crime.

Adipose Dr Who

Speaking of losing fat, the New Year brings with it new resolutions and the number one thing I see over n over n over n over is the want to lose weight. Whether it’s five pounds, fifty, or more. The world has become image conscious. I have been on a weight loss kick and still have more to go, so I sympathize with this.

Adipose is actually a word meaning fat, fatty, blubbery, etc. **Looks at fluff and cringes**And so with that…I created an Adipose character 2D (all while watching and listening to one of Adi Pose’s vidcast). My mind was all over on this one. No rhyme or reason. No direction. Just…create. So I apologize in advance for the lack of detail and pictures. It went REALLY fast. Lol

With everything covered in snow, it was difficult to find items that were as black as I wanted. My precious snapdragons are covered in burlap, so couldn’t use them for eyes. I tried using some of my precious Lil Shrubs. They were ok for now. So I made eyes and a mouth with them.

Adipose 1

Then using the Carved Ice Sculptures, I seriously just started filling in space. Over and over and over.

Adipose 2

Somewhere along the way as I quickly worked a shape began to form and grow.

Adipose 3

Adipose 5

Then my phone kept crashing (dang sketchy wifi) so some pics were lost. Essentially…this is what happened. The shrubs still weren’t enough for my vision of eyes, so they were replaced by Trash Cans. I removed the pavement from around the Adipose to give it MORE white background. I filled in all the gaps I could find with more Carved Ice Sculptures, though their shape still left odd looking openings. So I then turned to the other Shrubs to fill in around and behind the openings to bring more of a “curved” look to the adorable lil Adipose. There is a lil bit of twigs in them, but it worked. And I ended up with this…

Adipose 6

Cute…but it needed to be FATTER…so I added more and got THIS…

Adipose 7

Then I figured, why not keep going. It is New Years after all, so why not add a lil New Years fun…A lil Festive Trashcan Fire, some burlap covered Snapdragons, and of course some Broken Down Washers.

Adipose 8

Adipose

Then to surround the edges with a lil bit of ribbon using the Large Hedges and Wooden Fences.

Adipose New Year

So there is a cute lil roly poly ball of fatty cuteness for you all to see. Maybe it will help you all think of those areas you think are “fat” on you in a different light. As something that makes YOU cute and adorable and…well…YOU.

Here’s to a HOPPY NEW YEAR!!! 2014 here we come.

  1. Hello Miss Bunny, 🙂

I’m having fun pretending to be an artist in this silly game with mostly you to thank for the inspiration and subtle push…I would like for you to, if you would be so kind, tell me if something I’m working on looks like crap or tell me what I could change to make it better…I can take criticism, honest!!! I did honestly set out doing 2D to get a smile outta you…now that I see how fun it can be, I’m hoping to impress you…
Though very simple I am proud of my Pink Floyd album and hope to keep it…not so with the pyramid islands…I couldn’t get a dumpster to fit where the two meet near the top and had to throw in another snapdragon screwing up the whole illusion…so it’s gone maybe tomorrow…might be funny giving every home a dumpster… 🙂
You’ve been sooo sweet…thank you for your kind words in your blogs!!! You said I was the resident troll… 🙂 …made me feel warm…your words and your putting up some of my stuff has brought me a small gang of my own “fans” and made me feel wanted…thank you…
So…whenever you happen to be passing my town…please tell me if I’m wasting my time…I bought those dumpsters for other reasons but was also hoping to get your attention…I guess they need to be put away before Whacking Day, huh… 🙂
    Thank you
    Freak

PS: Do you often chew on a straw? When you said “dooo eeet” today, I just imagined you taking a flattened straw from your mouth and yelling at the screen…of course that image was quickly replaced with the naughty one… 😉

    • Awww you are just to darn sweet Freak. Love it! 😉

I do really like your Pink Floyd banner. It looks AWESOME!! You did all that for silly lil me? ***blush*** 🙂

Sometimes I find myself wanting to take on HUGE projects and they turn out as a disaster instead. Simple seems to work. I know my first 2D images were a bit odd as I was still trying to get the feel for what items worked better for certain colors or angles. Once I got that down, it made things a lot simpler for me. I now have a general idea what I like to use to create. I also now have a good size stockpile of items in my inventory making the placement go a lot quicker too.

My biggest suggestion is to start with a focal point, then create an outline, then fill in around. At least that is what works for me. Some use graph paper and/or other programs to create an item before hand then translate the image to their town. It really comes down to how your mind works. If you need to draw it out first, do it. Whatever helps you. My mind just doesn’t function that way. I can look at an image, but to create it I have to do it “on the fly”. Go with the moment and let my mind just wander and create.

Your lil words in your town crack me up and DO make me smile. It is great. I love sharing the humor with others, so I am more than happy to display it for all the readers to see too…when I can. 😉

As far as seeing things in progress…that is hard for me to critique. Lol. Mainly due to the fact on how I create. It may look a lil sloppy or silly to begin with and may not look right until the end anyway. I will try and see if I can be helpful. At anytime, feel free to drop me a line outside of the silly lil blog if you need more help. bunny@tstoaddicts.com

Chew on a straw? Lol. I used to do that all the time growing up on our ranch. Not just a straw like for a cup, but actual straw/hay from the fields (though the alfalfa flowers always tasted the best). 😛

      • Thanks Bunny…really…donuts or none, you are the reason I stick around…you will have to put up with random compliments from me and many others…for the rest of your life…it’s a curse that you will have to endure for being such a darling person…and so adorable. I’m sorry that I have trouble holding some of my thoughts inside…
The straw chewing “vision” is due to my vivid imagination…I originally had you pegged as “Lisa” …even thought of you as a vegetarian… 🙂 …I believe everyone has chewed on some type of grass…I thought tumbleweeds were just in the movies until I lived in Denver in the early 90’s… 🙂
Well I hope I make something cool next time…wish I could make screenshots before breaking everything down…I love my lil kindle but do wish it gave me more cool options like others have…
By the way…no one has mentioned where my movie quote came from, don’t you know?
        Hugs n hearts,
        Freak

        • Well thank YOU very much for all the flattery. You know what they say about it. 😉

I do love my veggies. Miss the farm as I had an acre all to myself to grow whatever I desired. Fresh fruits and veggies all the time and delicious corn. MMMMMmmmmm.

I tell you what, do not break anything down just yet. I am in process of traveling back to the west coast in a lil bit here, but when I get back and settled…I will make a few passes in your town and get some screenshots of it for you. So hang on to it for just a bit longer. 🙂

I like to leave your quotes for the other readers to see so I don’t spoil it for them. I do love seeing them though. FYI…every time I see Ladyhawke I can’t help but think of the movie. LOVE watching that movie. Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Broderick…and then some. “Sir, the truth is, I talk to God all the time, and, no offense, but He never mentioned you.”

      • Okay…thank you…I had that movie DVRed but it got deleted for space…if you haven’t heard her song, please check it out…it’s a real toe tapper 🙂 …have a safe trip girl !!!…and again, congratulations on the new site!!!
        🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  2. This is great. You always do great things. I noticed it but thought I’d wait for you to display before I said anything. I thought Adipose would enjoy. Also, I’m glad you explained the definition and further it’s reference to Doctor Who.

  3. That is awesome! 🙂

  4. Lisa Upperman-Barr

Love your blog! Love Dr. Who too!

  5. So cute 🙂
And that goes for the Adipose creature too… 😉
Happy New Year to everyone at Addicts!

  6. That looks great! Love that you’re a Dr. Who fan also. I hear you with the weight issue too. I’ve lost nearly thirty pounds since the middle of November. Have another twenty five to go, but I’m determined! I’m not sure how smart it was to decide to lose weight over the holidays, but so far so good. Sad part is I haven’t had one cookie or piece of candy in six weeks. Good part is I’ve been cooking all kinds of new and healthy meals and I love it. Plus it feels great now that my clothes are fitting better and soon I can start shopping for a new wardrobe! Keep at it, your not the only one working at it. Good luck!
