As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we find ourselves sometimes forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to.
So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU.
So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small. Brag about it to the world. We want you to. (That and Bunny loves to see other designs and get inspiration from it.) Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.
This weeks Edition: HEDGES. I wanted to see just what kind of crazy, unusual, and cool things people have done with a simple hedge. Here is what I found.
Neighboreenos…
MrsMLKnight did a very basic 2D design with hedges making a cool “WELCOME” sign to greet all the neighbors when they enter.
Cammie did some simplistic decorations to add some character to Springfield High School and the Springfield Knowledgeum.
Neoclassic added some dimension and character to Burns Mansion.
Dawnrynes made a cool 3D path up to Frink’s and the Observatory.
Sir Curt made sure it wasn’t so easy to steal that World’s Largest Zirconia.

Obsebhlen messed with our minds with a combination of 3D step up and down hedges.
Oly Beltran made a cool 3D area for the Mayan Calendar.
Facebook (too big for a frame. Lol)…
Deanno must have taken quite sometime to conquer this massive hedge maze.
And from Alissa…
A quaint little area to dine at the Swanky Fish.
And Bunny (me)…
A step up to picnic/gazebo area and waterfall behind Wolfcastle’s Mansion.

If I had to vote; I vote for Dawnrynes stairway to the stars. It’s been a fav of mine for awhile now. It looked beautiful during the winter event. Plus it sounds cool to boot. 🙂
Some day I’ll be able to make stairs, let’s call it a work in progress. lol

I have a fairly large area of 3D “art” made out of hedges, the thing is I can’t find a good tool to combine photos of the space so that the whole area is visible like on some of the pictures above, how are you guys doing that?
Been looking around but can’t find any helpful tips the subject…

Some great designs there. I’m obsessed with hedges! I just think they look great and especially blend in good with most of the buildings.
I love creating with them. A lot of my 2D and 3D art utilize the hedges over and over. 😉
