Troubleshooting 101- Character Issues

Bunny here. Putting on my glasses, getting out my pocket protector, and getting my magic fingers and thumbs ready to type those zeroes and ones. Basically…it’s Nerdy Time!!

For whatever various reasons, our game likes to frak with our minds and heads and nothing seems to quite go right. We panic. Throw our device. Scream. Yell. There may be many tears as well.  Just slowly take your thumbs/fingers off the device or you may crack the screen. Lol.  It’s ok. I am here to help. All of us are. Promise.

Sample 2

Getting irritated because you have looked EVERYWHERE and still unable to find your character? New update just hit and you do not want to spend your precious donuts to speed up the task for a character you need to start new quest? Well here are a few things you can try to help you out.

Some of the characters in the game are hard to see mainly due to their size. I have “lost” Rodd n Todd many of times. I do like that EA gave us the character finder. I would wonder and really like if EA was able to have it go to the location of the task they are currently in too, like the building (hint hint EA). So what do you do if you just can’t find your character or need them RIGHT NOW? Well here are a few steps you can take.

1: Krustyland- Some of the characters can go there too. So head on over to see if they were left on a task in Krustyland. If they aren’t on any tasks, they will actually follow you between the two locations.

2: Search Buildings- This may be quick or time consuming depending on just how many buildings you have. Try to clicking on the buildings the character’s main tasks are associated with. See if they are still there.

3: Check Task Book Menu- If your characters are given a specific quest line task, they will usually be linked to one of those icons on the left in your task book. Click through each one and see if they are just in the midst of completing a task.

4: Force Them to Come Out- (This also works if you don’t want to waste precious donuts to speed up a task and need a character right away.) Many of the characters are linked to a building within the game. You can check the list here to see who goes with what. If you want to get your character front and center quickly, just go to your menu on the right bottom corner, select the arrows to move items, and store the building the character you need is associated with. Once you replace it, the character will be standing right next to it. Note: this does not work for Homer or Lisa and the Simpson Home. Sorry.

So there are a few more helpful tips to keep you going in your game when you feel something just isn’t going your way. As always, we are here to help and share all we can with you. Let us know if it has worked for you.

Now I am off to see if that cool looking Limited Time Submarine has docked yet. I wanna see who is on board. 😉

  1. I just noticed on someone’s game, who is on approximately level 346, all of the characters are standing on the edge of the road. None of the characters are moving. Is there a reason for that?

  2. why can’t I find Mage? I have the full Simpsons family yet Mage is no where to be found.

  3. Can you please tell me why i cant get ziff and database characters im on level 47 they r in my inventory but not highlighted thanks cheers fiona

    • Let me ask you this…are you looking at your XP point Level at the bottom of your screen? Or are you going off of what levels you actually completed aka your Game Play Levels? For example, you can’t progress to 44 and 45 if you don’t finish 43. You need to complete each level requirements in order to move on to the next. Feel free to check out our walkthrough sections on our Tips n Tricks Menu and see where YOU are on your Game Play and see what else YOU need to do to progress in the levels.

  4. Hi, I recently bought Kearney for 60 donuts but when i logged back in he was missing. The donuts I spent on him are still gone and I’ve searched everywhere for days now. I tried Krustyland, turing my iPad off, logging out and still nothing. Ive also noticed that he is back up for sale in the store! Will I ever see Kearney or my donuts again?!?

  5. hey bunny… accidentially put rod on a 24 hour task and wanted him back… tried storing the mini golf and nothing happened. It appears EA took the linked character idea out of the game after the new updates.

    • Try finding the monkey bar set that Rod is on and store that, or just store Rod. Either will knock him out of the task.

      • Thanks Alissa. Ok… I just tried storing the monkey bars (i only have one) and that didn’t work. And i can’t store Rod b/c he’s in the Ah, Fudge building. I would store the fudge building but I still have other characters in the building that are half way through there tasks.

        • That’s odd…so he’s doing the beat up Cocoa task? I’m sorry I thought when you said his 24hr task you meant his permanent 24hr task (play on monkey bars)…
Yea at this point you’ll have to wait it out, unfortunately.

      • Yeah… I guess that’s what I’ll do. It’s not a big deal. I was just hoping to use him on hour long tasks all day and not have to wait that extra 12 or so hours for him to be available. Thanks for the help.

  6. kang has been missing for days, help

    • Have you tried storing the crashed UFO or the Victorian UFO? That should pull the aliens out of whatever building or task they’re in.

      • I am actually having the exact same issue. Kang has been missing a few days.

Storing the Victorian UFO does not seem to help. I did it twice and Kang never came back. Additionally, when I store a building that is attached to a character, the storage message states that the character will be stored too. I get no such message with the Victorian UFO. So unfortunately, I don’t think Kang is tied to it.

I searched all of my town with the buildings and decorations hidden with no luck. And I don’t believe Kang goes into any buildings for a task except the Victorian UFO, so no point in looking in them all.

        So I’m stumped 🙁

      • I got him Halloween 2013.

I tried storing the Ray Gun and the Crashed UFO. Kodos stored with and then returned with the Crashed UFO. But nothing with the Ray Gun. No message about a character to be stored with it either (although I did get it for Kodos and the Crashed UFO).

      • So I just wanted to give an update because of the most recent patch that added the Town Census.

Kang is still missing and not listed in the Town Census.

I personally have just come to accept it and hope I might get the chance to get him again at the next Halloween event,

        • It is still so very odd to me that you are unable to locate him. I can’t remember off the top of my head…have you tried storing EVERY single building in town? Also in KL? Just to see if it kicks him out somewhere? I would give it a try. I know it is tedious, but may be worth it.

  7. I lost Lisa and nothing is working, her icon doesn’t show up on the search button, she isn’t linked to her task. I searched all the buildings and krusty land. Is there anything you can do to help?

  8. Sherri and Terri are missing and I cannot find them anywhere – please help!!

    • Hmmmm. They did not come with any building, so nothing to store. They do tend to hide. Did you check all the buildings to see if they are on a task?

Only other thing I can think of is remove all the roads from your town and just leave a small patch. The characters are drawn to the roads. So they will eventually return (if they are just wandering somewhere you can’t see).

But before doing that…go in your “move items” part of your menu (the up down left right icon) and “hide” all your buildings by clicking on the lil eye icon over the buildings image. This will make all buildings transparent, so easier to see what is hiding behind them. Also hide all the decorations as even trees can hide characters.

Let me know if that helps. 😉

  9. I’ve been looking all over for Bart and I haven’t been able to find him for DAYS! I’ve clicked on every house in Springfield….nothing. I checked Krustyland…nothing. How could he just disappear? Any suggestions???

  10. Lovejoy and Snake just didn’t show as anywhere. You could not find them on the screen – you knew they were in the Retirement Castle – but when you click on the retirement castle, it did not show that they were in there (Nothing to do with handshakes). Left Snake in overnight and he did complete his task, but otherwise, you could never have found him until he was done. Same with Lovejoy but I cancelled him out.

    • For me, I wouldn’t worry too much about it right now. It seems like a standard glitch. As long as you still get the task complete handshake when they are done and are not losing your $$ and XP…I would just give it a bit to clear up.

If you want to try more troubleshooting to see if that speeds up the process, feel free to give it a go. Or if it is really bugging you, you can always contact EA to see if they can correct it on their end faster.

      Hope that helps. 😉

  11. Yes, but when they go in a building, you click on the building and it shows them, the task, and how long is left. Lovejoy doesn’t show. This just happened again with another character and the retirement castle (Snake, conning old people). I just built it today and wonder if something is wrong.

    • Hmmmm that is a bit interesting. I’ve had buildings disappear but was still able to tap handshake floating in air. It eventually reappeared. Do you get the handshake?

  12. Does anyone else have an issue with Rev. Lovejoy performing last rites? He goes to the retirement castle, but then he doesn’t show if you click on it? I was too afraid to lose him so I inventoried the church and tried again (after re-starting the game), and same thing…

  13. Uhm, BD? Are you recycling posts? The sub has been docked for awhile!
