Should I Spend Donuts On The Whale

Valentine’s Day has arrived in Springfield!  But, with all of the new Valentine’s premium items it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add The Whale to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this Water Mammal to your Springfield.

Decoration: The Whale
Donut Price: 300 donuts
Dimensions: 7 x 14
Bonus: 7% more $$$ & XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +3000
Unique: No

Pros:
-A BIG FRAKKIN WHALE IN SQUIDPORT!!!
-A HUGE Bonus Payout
-Animation: The Whale dives into the water and pops out while spouting water from the blowhole when tapped.
-Sound: Makes Whale calls when tapped.

Cons:
-OH MY 300 DONUTS???!!
-Massive cost for an item that is not used by any characters or tasks in the games.

Final Thought:
I did buy a Whale (well they are unlimited so I actually accidentally purchased two of them. Make sure YOUR confirm donuts spend is set to OFF!) It REALLY hurt losing 600 of my precious pink sprinkled sugary sweets. GAH! I do like the idea of a Giant Mammal in my Squidport. It does have amusing animation and a huge bonus…but honestly…I would say save your donuts on this one. You can purchase TWO Buildings w/characters for the cost it take for this ginormous water creature…with payouts and tasks. I just do not see a great benefit to it. Other premiums with better odds can also be purchased to equal the bonus payout and still hit under the 300 donut mark. So unless you are a completionist and HAVE to get every last item, I would save those precious donuts and pass on this one.

  1. Maximum Number of Whales seems to be 120..just in case anyone was wondering.

  2. Does anyone know if the whale is now considered unique? It was the first thing I bought from the yearbook mystery box, now I don’t see the option to buy more in the premium items section.

    • You should be able to get it every once in a while as one of your items in the Vault. It will be available for 300 donuts, and you get 75 donuts back.

  3. Now that I have every character I want, I’m contemplating a whale. By the time I save for it, though, there will probably be more characters in the game…

  4. I might buy it for Halloween and have it faced away from lil Lisa’s fishing cannery or whatever it is like it is trying to swim away from being sucked up into the factory. Lol I can’t be the first person to think of doing that. Poor whale. But funny for my amusement. Muhahahahaha

  5. I bought the whale at the Black Friday sale and got 80 of the 300 donuts back. I then used the 80 to buy a character (Arnie Pye ended up being my next purchase). 300 is a lot, but I got a cool animation, bonus earnings power, and a new character (albeit with an coveted but quickly becoming annoying helicopter animation).

  6. You’d have be high to spend 300 D’s on that
    Dam whale lol
So sorry Bunny but it’s true

  7. I need everything so I got it. It did hurt my doughnut count but in the long run I love having it in my town. Every time I come across it I have to tap it though just to justify the doughnuts. Also the bonus is great even though I’m going on $30 million and nothing new to spend it on. I want a new Cubic Zarconia or Magnifying Glass

  8. You can buy 3 different 2.5% decorations for about 40 donuts each and earn more than the 6% the whale will add to earnings and chores.

  9. Oh NOOO! Confirm donuts is ON 🙂
I have a neighbor who has 3 whales, and another who spelled YOLO with 18 Knightboats. Sometimes I wonder about these sorts of people 😉

  10. I’m not a completist but I love animals so I really want it.. Not for 300 donuts though
