Real Housewives of Springfield: Mindy Simmons

Welcome Addicts to a new addition to our posts. In this little game of ours, we tend to forget those characters that are few and far between. We get so involved in the game, so into the latest events…that we sometimes forget to pay attention to the little things. The little details that make the Springfield world go around. The thing that seems to be really lacking/missing from Springfield.

What exactly is it I am going on about? What is so terribly important to the game that would draw such attention. WOMEN OF COURSE! To be a bit more specific, The Real Housewives of Springfield (and maybe a mistress or 3. Gotta have the drama aspect in any series, right?).

So keep your eyes on our blog as we take you on a new journey into the lives of each of the women currently and NOT currently available in the game.

Valentine’s Day happily brought us some MORE women into our lil towns. WOOHOO!! We have Brandine, Shauna, and now we have Mindy (Simmons). But…who exactly is Mindy? Why does Homer seem so “involved” with her. Well let’s look into just who she is and why she made a great addition into our games.

Season 5, Episode 9: The Last Temptation of Homer
This is the episode we are first introduced to Mindy… Homer, Lenny, and Carl are messing around at the Plant (what a shock) and make another worker drop some of the chemicals. They figure the safety glass will protect them…until it leaks into the room…where the emergency exit is painted on the wall. (FYI…this is also the episode where Mr. Burns & Smithers “money fight task” comes into play.) Mr. Burns sends the Dangerous Emissions Supervisor who was in the room with the boys off in a tube to …India? So he tries to hire an illegal alien to replace him. The Department of Labor breaks in and told Mr. Burns he HAS to hire at least one woman. Mr. Burns hires none other than Mindy Simmons.

The guys try to ignore her, but Homer seems a lil…distracted by her.

He flips out that he is having such thoughts about her. Homer leaves work. Mindy tells him goodbye as she rides off on her motorcycle.

He is happy he isn’t hallucinating again…or is he? (Even the trout are chanting, “Homer loves Mindy!”) The next day Homer continually talks about Mindy. Even Lenny and Carl are beginning to think something is up. Homer tries to talk to Moe…about his uh friend…Joey Joe Joe Junior Shabbaddoo (oh hey Wookiee, he is talking about YOU.) Homer admits thought it is really him he is talking about and he is attracted to another woman but doesn’t know what to do. Barney gives Homer some insightful? information to go and talk to her.

So the next day he tries to talk to Mindy in the break room, but she is a lil busy. “Can’t talk…eating.”

Homer realizes she is eating his favorite. Raspberry swirl with a double glaze. Mindy repeats “double glaze” in the similar drooling fashion that Homer talks.

OH NO…one thing in common. So he tells her he hates drinking beer and watching TV. She tells Homer that it is her idea of HEAVEN! D’OH! She can see she is going to LOVE working with Homer. As she leaves she whispers to Homer some sweet words… “I wanna sneak in a quick nap before lunch.” Foul temptress. Homer finally makes it an entire day without seeing Mindy…D’OH! I guess they will be…going down together.

Homer tries desperately to think unsexy thoughts…but it doesn’t work as Mindy just invades them.

Homer opens his eyes to find she is ALSO trying to think of unsexy thoughts. He quickly exits the elevator. Homer arrives home to his loving wife…who is horribly sick and looking…awful. He tries to distract himself by watching TV with Marge. Brockman is talking about the affairs past Presidents have had…wait a minute…is that Lincoln chasing Mindy in her polka dot bikini?How old is that woman?

No matter what Homer does…everything on TV turns out to be about being promiscuous.

He runs out and tries to call the Marital Stress Hot Line for help. His call is answered by…FLANDERS??!! Who decides to conference Marge in on the call. Homer freaks out, topples over the phone booth, and passes out. He is led through a dream state by Isaac Newton…errr…who?…errr….I mean Colonel Klink. Klink wants to show him just how miserable life would be if he married Mindy. So miserable that him and Mindy would be living in a mansion and VERY happy.

Wait…moving on. So Klink tries to show him how Marge would be. As the President of the United States. Hold on…what kind of misery is this? So Klink gives up and ends the dream. Homer is now all giddy and even singing songs about Mindy. He is caught by Lisa. He tries to confuse her and runs off. At work he is trying to find ways to avoid Mindy so he can stop the way he feels. He runs into her and tries to explain…

but the writing on his hand got all smeared from his sweat. Unbeknownst to him, Mr. Burns is observing him and Mindy and takes their uncomfortable situation as great comradery he wants to showcase at this years Energy Convention. They will be spending two nights together in Capitol City.

Uh oh! This is NOT a good idea. Homer gets to Capitol City. Mindy realizes if it wasn’t for the wall, they would be sleeping in the same bed. Homer and Mindy give in to temptation and do it…they order ROOM SERVICE!!! (What did you think I meant? Sheesh!) While consuming a footlong chili dog (Lady & the Tramp style) the two end up lip to lip.

They attend the convention and try to stop hecklers walking by their booth.

Homer figures they will be just fine as long as they are not alone…of course he speaks to soon as they just won King & Queen of the convention and a romantic dinner alone at Madame Chao’s. The most romantic restaurant in the city. D’OH! Homer and Mindy eat their dinner (they made them cheeseburgers. Lol) and Homer gets an interesting fortune in his cookie.

(If only he had been there a lil later, his fortune would be different.) Homer gives up…even the Chinese are against him.

So he invites Mindy into his room. Homer is crying because he thinks they have to hook up. Mindy explains he knows how she feels, but they don’t have to. She tells Homer to look into his heart and he will see what he wants. They kiss each other…goodbye.

Marge comes to Capitol City to stay the night with Homer instead. So this is how the entire “love” relationship between Homer and Mindy came to pass and why Lisa was so worried when she showed up in the game. No wonder.

Now here are a few other places she has appeared since. 

Season 6, Episode 3: Another Simpsons Clip Show
The episode makes fun of itself. Marge is asking the kids about the recent episode of Itchy & Scratchy being a rerun. The kids inform her instead they just patched together pieces from a bunch of different episodes…so…they patch together a bunch of pieces from different episodes into this one. Lol.  Including the exact bits from the episode I just mentioned. “The Last Temptation of Homer”. (In this episode we also were enlightened to see a flashback of Flanders serenading Maude in the same way his task for the VD Event is. Also, Fuzzy and Fluffy Bunny’s romance. Lol.)

Season 7, Episode 12: Team Homer
Homer wants to bowl at Barney’s Bowlerama, but quickly realizes he must have a bowling league to play. So he gets the guys together (and gets $500 from a drugged Mr. Burns to sponsor the team). They have to play a game against the Home-Wreckers League.

Guess who is on it with their hair a few shades lighter? Can you also name the other two Home-Wreckers pictured?

There was also a man on the team from the previous episode, “Another Simpsons Clip Show”. Do YOU remember his name? (We also find out in this episode that the Lunch Lady is SVT mommy?)

Season 8, Episode 11: The Twisted World Of Marge Simpson
We catch just a quick glimpse of Mindy in this one as all the plant workers rush out to get some of the pretzels Marge is selling (before the Fleet-A-Pita shows up and ruins it for her.)

So there you have it. Another woman of Springfield that EA delightfully brought into our game. WOOHOO!! She almost tempted Homer to leave Marge, but in the end Homer stayed with Marge.

Mindy did come with many tasks (some of which you can see from the episodes above.)
