As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we find ourselves sometimes forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to.
So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU.
So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small. Brag about it to the world. We want you to. (That and Bunny loves to see other designs and get inspiration from it.) Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.
Last week I received a Showoff submission from Peter in our comments with his pic of his work in progress on what he did with the Up Up & Buffet. I as looked around, I was seeing many other neighboreenos working on ideas for their “airports” too. Even myself included.
As it works out, my travels this weekend are taking me from airport to airport (still looking for my tauntaun transport leifye), so I found it the perfect time indeed to showoff just what people are doing in their towns with that cool new restaurant. (Not to mention I just happened to be flying toward Springfield. I found it amusing as I looked through my last trip and sure enough, I have been passing right by it all the time. Maybe EPA has hidden it again under a dome? I also like that they appreciate a lil speed on my flights…just like a Bunny. Lol.)

alunited put together quite a cool looking airport. Complete with Fleet-A-Pita and Krustyburger for those hungry travelers. (Man I’m hungry. Stupid airport food.)
NEIGBHOREENOS:
cleckers put theirs next to a few other restaurants, but still made it stand out with some cool decorations to give it some character and resemble a runway.
Coop3r made a mix of the Buffet and the Egg Nog bar. Looks like this may be a new favorite spot for Wiggum.
Em, my neighbor and a fellow blogger of all things TSTO made this cute and simple lil area for her Buffet.
johnnycashis kinda cracked me up with this one. It seems like you could possibly grab a bite at the Buffet then maybe some dessert at the UFO? (Whether or not YOU are the dessert…well that is up to Kang & Kodos. Lol.)
montyygrrrl seems to have quite the crowd interested in their Buffet location.
Nathan Rushton, another neighbor and a fellow blogger of all things TSTO put a lot of cool VD decorations around his Buffet. A sweet lil area to take a stroll before or after a nice bite to eat.
Platypus Guitar, neighbor and another fellow blogger of TSTO tucked her buffet into an area with a mix of the other restaurants. Making a nice lil area for eating.
sfdsquid placed the Buffet next to Madame Chao’s and across from a cute lil park area. I like the decorations around the parking stalls.
SirCurt1979Â dedicated an entire block in a mixed food and housing area for the Buffet. With Willie outside, you even get a show with dinner, though Mr. Costington doesn’t look amused. Lol.
WeaponsfreeJDÂ did some really neat looking 3D areas and tucked the Buffet down at the bottom. I like how it is secluded almost like it is on its own lil island.
I just had to show my Favorite Fuzzball’s area too. Looks like the Wookiee WAS flying this one and had to make a quick landing right at the edge of the water. Lol. 
…and just for some fun, here is the one that is in progress with the rest of my town development. I still have a lot more to do, but I think it is taking shape so far. To me the Ice Skating Rink looks a lot like an airplane hangar. I also figured the Sunsphere would work as a Tower and the Channel 6 News Dish as the radar system. (Yes, I even put an underground transit system in…still in progress though.) Your thoughts?
What do YOU think of the designs? Have a favorite? That about does it for this week. Next week, 2D lettering. I want to see what you have spelled out or have written in your town. Bad words? (Well EA did hint we need to spell something with those rose bushes. Try and keep it as close to PG as possible. Lol.) Announcing your love for a neighbor? Shout out to your fav blog? 😉

Now that I know the glitch is gone I actually regret that I bought the Buffet from the gift cards I got (unfortunately not from a valentine 😡 ). Tried to make the best of it with a tower, a hangar and the bar for the pilots. Guess its gonna take a long time until that sports corner is finished, still in need of the Duff Stadium, Springfield Coliseum and the Bowlarama. Then I’ll have my own ‘Springfieldic Games’ with boxing, racing, fishing, bowling, baseball-ing ( 😉 ). Maybe they’ll have implemented ‘Fatov’ by then and i can make him walk around there….Hmmm…I should probably got to bed now.

Love that you made the skating rink into a hangar! All of you are sooo talented. Only thing i’ve done so far was make my buddha temple on top of a garden pyramid. I am going to start work on another project now to achieve bunny greatness! 🙂

Haggis followed by deep fried Mars bar and washed down with a Boyle of electric soup….as crocodile Dundee says you can eat it but it tastes like s###

I always get worried at the places that advertise home cooking as my mum was a terrible cook.
Lol…I know what a Mars bar is. I LOVE chocolate, more dark then milk or sweet though. 😉
Yeah, they lost me with sheep stomach. I always use my failed taste test of lutefisk as an example when something seems too weird. Suffice to say I wanted to get more in touch with my Norwegian heritage and wish I hadn’t. That makes me sad that your Mum was not the best of cooks. Wookieemama is making Chicken Parm right now and it smells so good.
I wasnt sure if I wanted the up up and buffet, but that limited time gets me every time. So I cleared a bit of land in front of Burns’ power plant and landed the plane there. Absolutely no regrets! I’d like to think if Burns ever becomes un-scrooged, he could hold meeting luncheons there 😉
