Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well…the end is near! Tomorrow (Feb 25th) the Valentine’s Day Event will officially end …it’s about time! I think the love was over 10 days ago. And once the event is over the option to buy many of the V-Day items will disappear with it. Poof just like that! They’ll disappear into the night never to be able to be purchased again…unless of course EA decides to bring them back next year for Valentine’s Day.
So beyond the items what else do you need to know for the end of the Valentine’s Day Event? Let’s take a look at some of the steps you should know to finish out the event and get ready for some kind of update.
Based on previous events this is what we can expect to happen tomorrow:
-Some kind of update will hit our games tomorrow. This will be an App Store (or Google Play Store) update, where you will need to actually go in and update your game.
–Usually, and again I say this because it’s based on what’s happened in the past, the update will hit sometime between 12PM EST and 2PM EST.
-The update may contain a new level (like what happened after Halloween) or it could just be an update to remove Valentine’s Day with nothing new in the game (like what happened after Christmas). Right now we’re not seeing anything in the files to indicate anything, as it’s been for the last 6. So we’re all flying blind & at the mercy of EA.
As always if we see anything in the files…we’ll let you know. Usually if something is going to appear in the files before the update hits it’s a 2-4 hr window before it actually hits.
What you can do to get ready if you’re on Level 38:
-Do not send your characters on 24hr tasks. Whatever task you send them on tonight into tomorrow morning make sure they’ll be free after 10AM EST (just to be on the safe side).
-Ignore all of the random quests the game will try to send you on between today and tomorrow, unless they’re short quests. Just because they’re telling you to Send Bart and Milhouse for a 24hr Sleepover doesn’t mean you have to. So hold off on those quests until you know what’s going to happen tomorrow.
-Check your App Store tomorrow, again this will be an App Store update. So you will need to download and update TSTO for it to work.
Finishing Out Valentine’s Day:
-If you haven’t yet cleared the wheel and earned your Tunnel of Love…keep trying. You still have time. Also, just because an update is here doesn’t mean you have to update your game. Because this will be an App Store update, if you haven’t yet cleared your wheel you don’t have to update your game. You can keep playing in Valentine’s Day and earn more hearts until the game will force you to update (usually 2-3 days after the update hits). Just keep in mind if your neighbors have updated it makes it that much more difficult to earn hearts.
-Make sure you purchase all of those limited-time items before they’re gone, if you want them. They won’t be here late tomorrow for you to make a decision on. If you’ve already purchased the Valentine items, they’re yours forever and will remain in your Springfield (or storage) unless you sell them or delete your game (via origin ID…not uninstalling from your phone). This also applies to items won on the wheel. If you’ve won them, they’re yours.
So just what are the limited time Valentine items? Well here’s a complete list of everything that you will no longer be able to purchase after February 25th:
Non-Premium:
– Valentine Tree- $750
Love Planter- $1,300
Cherub Topiary- $1,300
Rose Arch- $1,900
Also your last change to purchase Madame Chao’s (through quest) and unlock Mindy.
Premium:
Valentine Pond (also free on wheel)- 30 donuts
I Choo Choo Choose You Train (also free on wheel)- 50 donuts
Cozy Hammock 40 donuts
Brandine 100 donuts
Shauna 90 donuts
Up, Up & Buffet 90 donuts
Phineas Q Butterfats 80 donuts
Howard’s Flowers 80 donuts

Confused about what you should purchase before it’s gone? Well here’s my advice. If you have the in game cash buy everything, you can add a few of each (you can also store them). I’m not saying run out and spend all of your game cash on these Valentine decorations, but be sure you buy them before they’re gone. Trust me you’ll regret it in a few months if you didn’t purchase them. Plus, it’s part of your “battle scars” for playing TSTO. So next summer when new Tappers are coming into the game they’ll covet those heart ponds and rose arches because they can’t buy them.

Remember the event ends tomorrow so be sure to purchase everything you need by tonight before it’s all gone!

VDay sucked! Not only was it impossible to visit half the people on my friend list I ended up being deleted as well prolly due to game issues as I play daily. I did not buy any premium items either and even tho it’s tempting I won’t spend money to play a game.
I’ve been at work all day and just got home all excited to check on my game for today’s update and there isn’t one. I checked on my android phone and my iPad and nothing on either of them. Have they not updated the game yet or has it just not hit my devices?
Nope…no update. Very strange day. An event ends, usually at least that update is removed or there’s a message from EA about extending the event. So far..nothing. We shall see what happens over the next couple of days…
Hmm that is strange. Not getting my hopes up or anything but maybe that means there something big on the way. Oh well I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

so where is it? i assume since there is still nothing in the files then we are still like 4 hours away. is EA sleeping on the job? why do they have to play with our addicted little minds, my fingers are going through withdrawal. i guess i need to get to an addicts meeting . . . . .
I’m just a baffled as you. I keep checking to see if the files have been added yet and have yet to see any kind of changes. It’s still showing the Gil Promo as the version of the game it’s running off of. EA is really messing with our heads now!

Well i was a new player starting in the beginning of December 2013. So the Holiday 2013 update was already under way. I hit it hard and got most of the wheel items along with a few premium. Not really knowing how I would feel after the update was gone I thought I was good.
Once the excitement of the small NYE quest was over I realized what I had missed. No Grumble, no Candy Kevin, oh NO what will I do?!? So when V-day 2014 rolled around I knew what had to happen. I BOUGHT everything.
I play every hour everyday so clearing the wheel by 02/12 was no problem. I also bought every premium item available and and a few of each in game cash items. Once the wheel was cleared I did not let up fighting for as many “free” premium heart pounds and I choo choo choose you trains I could to increase my cash and XP payouts.
I guess to sum it all up, EA has me hooked and I will do whatever they ask 😉

Really Curious!
Nope nothing yet. Not even sure if they’ll do one, although they did one last year. EA is keeping everything really close to their chest with updates…for the last 6 months or so now….so it’s hard to say what is coming until just before it hits. 🙂
They better bring it back! I started playing just after it ended last year and I want o’flannagans pub! hahaha the fact that I’m half Irish might be playing a huge factor here

What is the reason to put the characters “On shorter tasks” ?
So that when the update hits you’ll have your characters free or almost free to start the update. Since we won’t know who starts the update until it hits, it’s a good way to be ready for anything 🙂
I wish I could give away some items for those who didn’t complete the wheel. It gets annoying when you never get that one last item you need

50 plus spins and no heart balloons. I have like 15 bird baths. Wish we could trade items… I’m going to go to my KL now and dream about what it would look like with the ride I’ll apparently never get haha

Place the wheel on the item you want and perform a soft spin counter clockwise. Not a hard spin just a soft little flick downwards. Worked for me and my boyfriend everytime.

I feel your pain! haven’t gotten the bench and I’ve had at least 75 spins! It’s such a disappointment to put all that work into the game and not even get it. 🙁 I’d gladly trade in ALL my decorations for the tunnel of love!!!
I have 164 hearts and really need one more spin of the wheel for a chance at getting an eighth train, for symmetry. Otherwise it’s going to really bug me that I’ve only got 7 trains. I’ve used up all my neighboureenos for 24 hrs, so now am waiting for Cleetus to grow roses – 5hrs and 28 mins left. It’s about 6 1/2 hrs till 2pm ET, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed I’ll make it in time. Would be amazing to get another train, but I would also settle for another pond. More pink fencing would be a major disappointment.

I managed to scrape together my 200 (exactly!) hearts for one more spin, as a few neighboureenos sprang to life in the last few hours. I tried my strategy (which admittedly hasn’t been very good for the last forty odd spins) of starting three before the train and spinning as slowly as possible. I think Bunny put me on to it. Yes, I blame Bunny! It all started well and on the last turn I could see the train approaching the station – was it going too fast? Yes it was ! The chooser balanced on the edge and then ticked over onto the pink bench. I will have an extra 50 hearts from Cletus in a while, but I’m too depressed to even think of what to do with those.

I would like to know what you two think of my town! I hope the update will give us extra land, new decorations new buildings and new carracters!! i’m updating as soon as i can… although the event will end, the pink crap will live on in my storage forever!!
You can delete items using your Origin ID? I was under the impression that you can sell some items in storage, and everything in storage just stays and cannot be deleted.
No i just meant that if you have an origin id they’ll stay with your game forever. Even if you uninstall TSTO. If you play with out an ID everything is linked to your device, so if you uninstall TSTO you’ll lose the items. 🙂
I’ve been so over the Valentine wheel. I’ve had all my stuff and more for some time now. I accidentally purchased more spins the other day. grrrrrr lag. It’s my own fault for not turning on the confirmation for spending doughnuts. The trains are just about the ugliest thing out there. I will have to hide them behind a big building so I get the bonus, but all of them don’t show.
I haven’t spent all my hearts yet. I wish I knew if there would be a cash in or not.
Like others have said, I would like to see the rose bushes hang around. I do like the way they look.
I’ve been really fortunate with the two wheels & got everything early. Now I’m decorating the town.
Why should I buy lots of VD items? Is there a future benefit by having them?
It’s mostly just do you don’t miss out. I always recommend buying at least one of everything using game cash to show your tsto battle scars. And do you do regret not being able to add them down the road
Thanks…I did buy donuts to buy Brandine, I wish I could buy donuts with Simpson’s cash though. Hopefully they’ll give us some cheap way to add donuts to my meager collection. I’m at level 38 & holding.
These “holiday wheel” events are really annoying. I have an inventory full of crap I already have and am still missing two useless items. Oh well I guess I’ll end up not getting the Krustyland ride. If these keep up I’ll probably dump the game.
I know the wheel can be frustrating. I hope they stop with the wheels for future events, it seems no matter what the odds are there’s always a chunk of the TSTO population not collecting all of the prizes. Hopefully EA will listen to the Tappers and stop with the wheels! Hope you collect the final 2 before the event ends! 🙂
I’ve got Milhouse, Lisa, Marge, and Homer on their special Valentine’s quests and rosebushes growing at Cletus’s farm. It will be interesting to see how they survive the update. My guess is they’ll just lose the task and all become idle.
Usually you’ll still earn something for the task (cash). Generally the task will get finished out 🙂
I bought all the fremium stuff and just finished putting my extras away in my inventory. I did buy more premium items then i normally do with events, I love the look of Howard’s Flower and the endless options in creating a nice area with it. I also bought both Brandine and Shauna, (although Shauna i just bought a few minutes ago, i guess be limited time for the second time got to me, i doubt she will be back a third time). Brandine is currently 11 days into her first spuckler. I had to pass on the whale, 300 donuts !!! and i didnt really see the point in the ice cream parlor. I for one have loved this update even if it did take a hit on my donuts. I now have less than 1200 left. PLEASE GIL, COME BACK. I am looking forward to hopefully Level 39. i cant wait.

So what you are saying is the update should be mostly harmless and if we do run into another glitch like the roll back at the beginning of the Valentine’s event, don’t panic. Like life, the universe, and everything we should take it in stride and not say so long and thanks for all the… Fish? Donuts? (Mmmm… Donuts. I couldn’t figure out a way to work in Restaurant at the End of the Universe… Oh, right…42)

Any idea if there’s going to be a heart grinder? I currently have 20 spins waiting to see if something pops up to exchange the hearts for cash. Or should I just go ahead and do the spins now in hopes of getting more trains?
Right now nothing showing a heart grinder will be coming. You may be better off spinning the wheel, but just remember you may end up with 20 Gazebos and no trains 🙂
Alissa, what are these “files” you guys keep talking about…???
In Bunny’s basement, there are an abundance of hanging file drawers filled with random information. We periodically go through the assorted info to see if there is anything useful for all the readers here. Datafrakking is a combination of said info and Bunny cursing. Up in the attic, it’s just a lot of post-it notes and writing on the walls. Something to the effect of all work and no cheetos makes Wookiee something something. Hope that clears it up lol.
Okay…I thought maybe you guys had someone at EA sending you info…

@Alissa—just your opinion please? I was thinking , since I’m newish to the whole neighbor thing, should we wait on deleting the neighbors who seem to be in a less visiting mood? I was really hesitant to delete non- visiting neighbors over the VD promotion — Mainly because some of them are on lower levels and didn’t really have the high# of characters to give the cards. I actually felt kind of bad, some of my neighbors only had like 6 characters or less. I just kind of let it go, since they would have to really be on top of all their visitors. What is your view on this please? Thanks for your time.
Here’s my take on neighbors. I don’t ever delete neighbors unless I see that they’ve completely stopped playing. And when I say completely stop playing I mean they’re someone who used to be on the highest level and after 2 or 3 updates they haven’t progressed anywhere. That’s the only time I deleted them. But I also (purposely) keep my neighbor list below 100, so I can add new neighbors whenever I want to. So I never need to delete friends to add friends. If that makes sense.

I liked not feeling the same pressure as with the Christmas one. .I almost lost my job over that one! I wish the rosebushes would have been easier to get. I regretted not buying more last year. Here’s hoping for a glitch-free update!!!!
Oh no! While TSTO is an amazing game, it definitely is not something to lose a job over. Glad this event was better for you and glitch-free would be amazing, but I’d settle for very minor glitches.
Do you think the rosebushes at Cletus’s farm will go to? I hope not. I need about 40 more.
It’s hard to say. Right now they reward you in hearts & the bushes…so if they stay they’ll have to be reworked to reward cash. My guess is they’ll be gone after tomorrow. 🙁
i hope they re-figure it to pay cash, maybe make it a longer build to award rose bush, maybe a 72 hour harvest time? i love the look of them in the “resturant district”
Any thoughts on the hearts? I’ve been such a good neighbor, ;), and have now collected over 5k plus hearts for 25 spins of the wheel but I’ve got my fill of pink gazebos. Was hoping for that grinder I quickly heard about, had my ‘hearts’ set on a fine grind, 🙂
Either way, looking forward to the update being done so I can get back to my tile collecting (I do hope that comes back).
