Friendship Level 5: Unlocking Stampy

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers,

How’s this week working out for you?  Still making your way through the free doodads?  Have you succeeded in unlocking Homer’s Car yet? If not don’t worry..you have plenty of time! Just remember to help out your fellow neighbors and clear those handshakes!  Are you still making good use of visiting your neighbors daily?  Or has it started to fizzle out for you?  Are you in need of more Tapping Friends?  Remember you can always find friends on our Add Friends Page (and here for ones who pledge not to vandalize you)…the best (and only way) to submit your Add Me requests on TSTO Addicts!

So now my friends we’ve come to our 5th, and final Friendship Prize (at least until EA decides to add new ones to buy more time between updates).  That’s right Tappers it’s time to talk about everyone’s favorite elephant Stampy!   Bet you thought I forgot about him didn’t you?  Nope, just waiting a few days between Homer’s car and Stampy to allow some of you the chance to “catch up” in FPs.  I didn’t want you to feel like we were cramming all of this information down your throat in a handful of days just to be the first to get the info to you.  With this update it’s important to remember to SLOW DOWN.  There’s no rush in this update, so take your time and enjoy it!  🙂

Anywho…Stampy is unlocked once you’ve unlocked Snowball II err Homer’s Car (yikes!  I need more coffee!  Either that or I need to get these darn TPS reports off my desk….thanks for pointing out my error (and for the java!) runicgem!)   AND earn an additional 5,000FP…and many of you should be unlocking Bart’s pal sometime in the next few days (depending on how many friends you have).  So what happens when you unlock this big eared mammal?  Does it do anything?  Or is it just another NPC (Non-Playable Character) Well let’s take a closer look…

unlock_stampy

Once you’ve completed Friendship Level 4 and earned an additional 5,000 FP you’ll unlock Stampy and you’ll see this message popup:
Level 5 Stampy

You can also unlock this via Donuts at a rush rate of 10 FP/donut.  So for every 10 friend points you need…it’ll cost you 1 donut.  So 500 donuts if you need all 5,000FP, 300 donuts if you need 3,000FP and so on.

Once you return to your Springfield you’ll find Stampy in your Inventory.  It’s a new character for your Springfield, and once you add it to your town you’ll see this character unlock message popup:
Region CaptureStampy belongs in the More Animals and Pets category (along with Snowball & now Freedom the Falcon).

Now clearly EA has saved the best for last because Stampy not only comes with a little mini questline…he also has not 1 but TWO tasks!  Bringing this elephant into the world of Jub-Jub has the only Pets with tasks!   Ah finally not just another NPC…

Once placed the questline for Stampy should auto-start:

Pachyderm Piggyback

Bart: Whoa ho ho!  I can’t believe Stampy is here!
Lisa: Well, when you blow up a town, you tend to blow up the wildlife reservations within it.
Bart: Who’s a good elephant?  Wanna go for a walkie!
Make Stampy Carry Bart– 12hrs, Earns $840, 200xp (Note this requires Bart and Stampy.  Which means it pays out double the normal rate for a 12hr task)

Stampy makes…well…an elephant noise when you tap on him.  (Only makes sense right?)  And has some fun animation:
stampycarrybart

As I mentioned above Stampy comes with TWO Tasks…and here they are:

Task Length Earns Location Requires
Carry Bart 12hrs $840, 200xp Outside Bart
Redecorate the Simpson Home 24hrs $600, 150xp Simpson House N/A

Now that you’ve completed Level 5 and gotten your last Friendship prize, what’s next?  Well it’s onto Level 6.  What does that mean exactly?  Well at this point you’ve earned all of the prizes but EA still gives you an incentive to keep visiting your friends:
level6

Yes, that says TRIPLE the money.  Which means…you’ll earn $90 per friend interaction when visiting neighbors, or $270/neighbor.  Talk about a good way to earn some extra $$$.  If you have 100 neighbors that’s $27,000/day you can earn JUST from visiting your friends!  Pretty sweet huh?  Before you know it that World’s Largest Zirconia will be all yours!

Well that’s in my Friends.  What do YOU think of Stampy?  Have you unlocked it yet?  Did you earn it via FP or did you spend donuts to get it faster?  Were you excited they added it to the game AND that it has tasks?!  Sound off in the comments below…you know we LOVE hearing from you!

Oh and one more thing….cause we all seem to love a good poll:

I fully expected Stampy to be an NPC when I got him. Nice unexpected surprise! The Stampy episode is one of my favorites

  2. Mr. Auto Correct

Late correction! Stampy is not in
“More Animals & Pets” but in
“Exotic Animals.” Only Snowball ll and that guinea pig are in
    “More Animals & Pets.”

    • Remember…EA makes changes CONSTANTLY to games and categories. With so much going on it’s often forgotten about to go back and change older posts. So it’s not really a correction, it’s more a change

  3. I started Carry Bart at 6.30am this morning and its supposed to last for 12 hours, but im logging in now at 12.30ish and the timer seems to have restarted. Does this happen to anyone else? =/

    • I’ve had this happen occasionally to me as well, not just with Stampy with other tasks too. Best thing to do is reset the task. To do this store Bart’s Treehouse (this will knock Bart out of the task) and place it again. Then reassign Bart to the task with Stampy. 🙂

  4. I’ve reached max friendship level & received E.A.R.L. but I’m not getting triple cash or getting any doughnuts as I was before when max was level 6. Anyone know if there’s a fix for it?

    • Try the basic troubleshooting of logging out and restarting your device. See if that helps. 🙂

      • Thank you this worked when using iPad but not kindle. Have no idea why?

        • Each device is a lil different. Those donuts are random too. So it may be right away, or it may take days. Just hang in there. Sometimes you actually see a lil donut icon. Sometimes you don’t. It is just impossible to predict on this one, sorry.

  5. Well, I did as you guys suggested and really really took my time on this one. To save myself time (and earn some extra sleep), I only collected from 20-30 friends a day. I never did actions for 2 FP, since it’s much more practical to collect 10 FP the next day. With that kind of snail speed, I am now 400 FP away from Stampy, and am really looking forward to the character and the bonus. I’m still waiting on hitting the $10 million mark so I can begin my complete uprooting and redesign without hitting any financial snags, and the $270 per neighbor will help immensely.

Anyway, what exactly happens after you get Stampy? Does the concept of FP just disappear? Do you collect FP aimlessly for Level 6? Does the graffiti no longer spit out FP? I’ll probably have these answered tomorrow, but it’d be nice if I got a prompter reply. I’m really curious.

    • No FP will spit out. Basically just cash, it’ll go back to how it was before the FP started. You’ll get about $90 per action in a friend’s town in cash and xp only. Also, in your town if someone Spray Paints your buildings you’ll just get cash for cleaning it, no more FP. Hope that helps! And yay to finally getting Stampy!

  6. I started playing a couple of months ago and I am already at level 34 (which seems pretty unbalanced to me, considering there are 38 levels in total :P) … does anybody know if there is a special bonus when tapping tickets in Krustyland as well? Do we get any extras when we reach level 6?
    Thanks!

    • You got the info already on Level 6. 😉

As for tickets, the only options right now are to exchange them for cash once everything is built. But in my opinion, it wasn’t worth it to me.

  7. I got Stampy, but I am not getting triple money for visiting friends. Is there something I have to do?

  8. Adam Thrasher

does this friend point end during the next update still need to get 2 more? and add me level 38 play everyday TheThrasherr

  9. Ohh! Ohh! Half way to Stampy!!!!

  10. The “WORLD’S LARGEST CUBIC ZIRCONIUM!!!!!” is quite elusive in my town, it’s in the list, it’s out of the list, it’s back, it’s gone again. One of these days, I just need to buy the darn thing, and put it out of my misery!

  11. Lately when i visit my friends i only get 3 FP , is this happening to everyone ??? at this rate it will take me forever to get Stampy.

  12. This is by far my favorite “event” if you’d call it that, simply because there is no stress in it. No wheel of chances, no deadlines, no stress. You play at your own leisure and collect the prizes in your own time…

  13. I think the Stampy tapping could have been shorter, say 3000, or even 3500.

  14. i can’t believe they were offering a tiny bird that doesn’t do anything for precious DONUTS, and they’re giving away an elephant from one of the best episodes of all time, who has tasks, for FREE! It’s true, the best things in life are free 🙂

  15. Well, i caved and got the falcon. I’m a glutton for punishment lol

    • lol oh no! Runic I thought you were gonna stay strong with me?! The completest in me says get it…but I just have a hard time spending 40 donuts on a bird!

  16. WanderingCaveman

I like the prizes, it’s the shift in gameplay that is breaking my brain. I’m leaving my buildings untapped until my neighbors tap on them (for the most part), which feels very counter to the way I’ve been playing the game for the past year. I wonder if people feel differently about the event based on what level they are at. I know if I was at a lower level, and in need of cash to progress the game, I wouldn’t leave my buildings sitting uncollected.

    • Yea especially when you have so few buildings to begin with. BUT the nice payout is when you’re done with all 5 levels you’ll get $270 per neighbor per day if you visit. That works out to a nice chunk of change! 🙂

      • WanderingCaveman

I guess it comes down long term vs. short term. Wait is EA trying to teach us something about investing?!?
I’m just grouchy ’cause I’ve got about a thousand xp left before I finish a bonus level and it just seems to be collecting soooo slowly now that I’m not constantly tapping all
        My buildings.

  17. I LOVE this event! I can’t wait to get Stampy!

    • It’s fun watching him carry Bart around! I love the community element of it. Visit your neighbors check out what they’re doing 🙂

  18. Hard to believe that there is negative reaction to this currency or its prizes! There is no wheel, nothing to buy with real money, virtual cash or donuts plus there is no time limit! What more could a Tapper ask for? I suppose the theory of not being a fan is supported for those negative responses. IMO!

  19. Alissa, Thanks for the credit! 🙂 I do not worry none tho cause i know you know what your talking about as well as your furry companions!!!

  20. I’m hooked and can’t stop tap tap tap pin’ ….. Playing since Feb 16,2014 and already level 22. Freebie junkie and house farmer. But love looking at neighbours towns to get idea once I start to design my town.

    • Awesome! You remind me of me when I first started…tapped non-stop. Oh wait…I still do that! 🙂 Welcome to the wild and crazy world of Addicts!

  21. Alissa, Great post as always but i am gonna be a stickler today. In your post you said that Stampy comes after Snowball II but it is Homer’s car as you know. Here Hon, have a cup of java on me…… \_/>

  22. Whoa, I am super surprised that 1/3 of the voters thought the Social Currency prizes weren’t worth it! Maybe they just aren’t fans of the show? My husband plays and doesn’t care for the prizes either and didn’t watch the Simpsons growing up.

    • It is kind of a shocker…it’s free stuff that you don’t have to work very hard to get either. But I guess if you don’t like the show it’s hard to get attached to the items.

    • Is your husband actually grown up? I know many women who wouldn’t make that claim.
