Mad Men of Springfield: Sanjay Nahasapeemapetilon

Welcome to another new addition to Addicts, the Mad Men of Springfield. We will be going into depth on the history and background of the male species running around our lil towns as well as those not yet in the game.

Just think about it. What Man living in Springfield is “normal”? Not a single one that I can think of. They all have at least ONE thing wrong with them. Seriously! Think about it. How many issues does Moe have? A Reverend a “little” obsessed with trains? An owner of a Kwik-E-Mart that goes to counseling with the same person that robs him, on a daily basis? Not to mention the “inbreeding” and other strange happenings going on at the farm. Oh the idiosyncrasies.

So sit back, relax, grab your favorite beverage, and enjoy as we kram your brains with some Simpson knowledge of the MAD MEN OF SPRINGFIELD.

In this weeks episode, I will be looking into the life of one of our newest characters to be added to the game. Sanjay Nahasapeemapetilon. He is Apu’s younger brother and is seen throughout many Simpsons episodes. So let’s take a look at his life in Springfield.

Season 2, Episode 13: Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment
This episode is where we first hear his name. Homer is inviting everyone over to his house to watch the “Big Fight” on cable TV. He invites Apu who says he will get his brother Sanjay to watch the store. It sounds like Sanjay is a part of the family owned business of Kwik-E-Mart too. Poor guy.

Season 3, Episode 17: Homer at the Bat
This episode is where we actually get to catch a first glimpse of Sanjay. Homer has chosen to sign up for a Softball Team at the Power Plant. He uses his “secret weapon” (bat made from a tree branch struck down by lightning) to take his team all over. One team they play against is Fort Springfield. Sanjay just so happens to be the pitcher (Apu and Otto are on the team too).

Season 3, Episode 19: Dog of Death
We get just another glimpse of Sanjay in this episode as the entire town is frenzied with excitement at the thought of winning the 138 million dollar lottery. They all rush to Kwik-E-Mart to buy tickets. Apu and Sanjay are at the counter. Sanjay has to put a bullet proof vest on to go to the bank and deposit all the money. Quite the dedicated person. He also asks Apu to NOT sleep with his wife if he doesn’t make it back alive. Apu makes no promises. (We never really get to see Sanjay’s wife, just a mention of her.)

Season 4, Episode 2: A Streetcar Named Marge
Sanjay can be seen sitting next to Homer and the kids at the “Streetcar Named Desire Musical” that Marge and Apu are in. Seems to be quite the supporting Brother to Apu.

Season 4, Episode 21: Marge In Chains
Thanks to a sick worker in China, the entire town is struck with the Asian Flu. Marge heads to Kwik-E-Mart to get supplies, but sets of the alarms on her way out. Sanjay goes to “help” her with the items she has dropped and notices the flask of Bourbon in her coat pocket. She is arrested for shoplifting. Homer goes and tries to beg them to drop the charges, but Sanjay and Apu are celebrating. They have no intentions to drop the charges and continue the celebrating after Homer gets frustrated and leaves. At the hearing, Sanjay and a female can be seen sitting behind the Blue Haired Lawyer. We then see Apu and Sanjay outside the courtroom as Marge is hauled off to prison in handcuffs. Sheesh, are these two ALWAYS together?

Season 7, Episode 21: 22 Short Films About Springfield
Bart and Milhouse are being the usual boys and spitting off the overpass onto cars below. It makes them reflect on the idea that thousands of people are passing by and there are probably thousands of great stories out there. Thus, 22 short films about Springfield. The first story has the boys heading for sugar at the Kwik-E-Mart. Sanjay is trying to convince Apu to come to his party. He thinks Apu could use some merriment. Sanjay promises a wingding time of Titanic proportions. So, for the next 5 minutes, Apu is gonna party like it is on sale for $19.99. (This also happens to be where we get a glimpse of Sanjay’s house.)

Season 9, Episode 17: The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons
The Springfield Civic Center is hosting a Charity Bachelor Auction. Apu and Sanjay are seen in the audience sitting in front of the Simpson family. Oddly enough we don’t seem to see him again later during Apu’s and Manjula’s marriage. (Though there is one character there that could possibly be him.)

Season 10, Episode 14: I’m with Cupid
Apu calls Sanjay from his apartment to see how many pennies he has left at the Kwik-E-Mart. Apu freaks out when he says only seven and claims he will be right there, until Manjula takes the phone away and tells Sanjay Apu will not be there. Manjula also learns that it is NOT American to work 18hr shifts 7 days a week. I can see why Sanjay doesn’t like working there and will try and skip out if he can.

Sanjay 2

Season 21, Episode 21: Moe Letter Blues
In the start of the episode, Apu and Sanjay can be seen enjoying some drinks at Moe’s, as well as mingling with everyone else drinking. Makes you wonder how much time they actually spend apart.

Sanjay 6

Though we have yet had a chance to see his wife, he does have two children that popped up in the Simpsons Episodes.

Season 4, Episode 3: Homer the Heretic
Homer has given up on church and decided to spend his Sundays at home instead. He falls asleep with a cigar in his mouth, which falls to the ground and starts a chain of events the cause the home to become inflamed. Apu just so happens to be looking at the Simpsons home and sees the fire. Being the Cheif, he rushes to the Simpsons. He leaves the Kwik-E-Mart in lil tiny Jamshid’s hands (Sanjay’s son). Looks he will be just fine in watching over the family store even though he doesn’t look to be much older than lil Maggie.

Sanjay 4

Season 4, Episode 4: Lisa the Beauty Queen
The family is at a fair at Springfield Elementary. Lisa has a caricature drawn of her that makes her very self conscious and upset that she is ugly. Homer tries to help boost her confidence by entering her in the Little Miss Springfield Pageant. During the pageant, we get our first glimpse at Sanjay’s daughter, Pahusacheta. Sanjay and Apu are in the audience cheering her on. (They also realize with both them there, no one is watching the Kwik-E-Mart.)

Season 5, Episode 7: Bart’s Inner Child
At the “Do As You Feel Festival”, taking a Self Help Guru’s advice and doing as Bart does, Sanjay and his two kids Jamshed & Pahusacheta skateboard past with Apu.

Season 8, Episode 19: Grade School Confidential
After Bart let all the kids in school see Skinner and Krabappel making out in the janitors closet, Pahusacheta runs to the Kwik-E-Mart and tells her Father Sanjay and her Uncle Apu about it.

Sanjay 3

Season 16, Episode 18: Papa A Star Is Torn
Sanjay is seen in line with Pahusacheta for Krusty’s Lil’ Star Maker contest.

Overall, Sanjay has a nice house. Which makes me wonder if he is moonlighting at another job because I know Apu is cheap. He seems to be a really great Dad, always supporting his daughter. I’m still curious as to where the wife is though. With as much time as he spends with Apu too, someone has to be taking care of those kids. What is it with women missing in the Simpson world? Lol.

Level 39 released on 3/28/14, brought us Sanjay and his house. (You can read more about his entrance to the game here.) Of course with a new character in our games comes new tasks. Sanjay has two funny ones that were pulled directly from the episodes he appeared in, as well as a few we can’t see.

  1. Sanjay should be a voiced character. What up with that?

  2. Sanjay is very cool a great recap, though I do dispute your view that no man in Springfield is normal.

I think they are a good cross section of society….

    • What’s that saying? Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus? Lol

I think there’s a little crazy going around in Springfield. Lots of whackyness and hijinx afoot there. 😛

  3. Hey Miss Bunny! I don’t recall Sanjay due to excessive partying in those days…I have, in my lifetime, had an Indian boss and two Pakistani bosses…quite an experience!

    • He randomly pops ups still here and there. More as background filler when the people of Springfield are grouped together. Like in Four Regrettings and a Funeral.

I worked with a lot of cool people from India when I was high level at DirecTV. I am currently working with someone now from India. I probably drive the poor man nuts. I’m a curious person and like to know about cultures and things I don’t understand or never experienced.

He laughs at me and explains the answers. Lol

  4. Bunny the task times are messed up lol. Good write up though.

    • Lol thanks. WordPress hates my cell phone. Was fixing a picture and it went all weird on me.

Odd things happen at times with it. You should be seeing all the info correct now. 🙂
