How are my favorite Addicted Tappers this evening? How was your weekend? Do anything fun? Have you earned E.A.R.L yet? Placed it somewhere good in the ocean?
Anyway enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? No it’s not time censor Freak’s flower words (we do plenty of that Monday-Saturday). Nope it’s time for another Sunday Night Open Thread! (this is very quickly becoming our favorite time of the week by the way! You guys have some AWESOME things to say!)
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Sunday Night Open Thread. The Simpsons are all new tonight…what will happen in the new episode? What’s with Lisa’s new competitive eating boyfriend? How will Homer and Lisa’s date play out? Watch them along with us and find out! Level 39 hit our games just over a week ago & with the announcement of the Family Guy game hitting the app stores this week do YOU think EA will release a HUGE event on the same day? NCAA finals are tomorrow, are YOU surprised by the final 2? (It’s raining cats and dogs!!) MLB is in full swing…and my Yankees won again today. How’s YOUR team doing?

Am I doing something wrong? The last time EA gave out donuts for maxing out on FP I didn’t get any. I have maxed out again and still several days with no donuts! I feel so left out 🙁
Give it time. I didn’t even see any donuts icons show up last time…but my overall count went up.
I’ve thought about your not seeing them…could it have something to do with that layer glitch?
Thing is…it is only in MY town. I see it off and on with others that have the same issue, but for the most part the towns I visit do not have it. It is so weird.
(p.s. I AM seeing them now. WOOHOO!!)

I feel your pain! I think I have bad luck. Or maybe I’m just impatient. I haven’t gotten any donuts yet and after I got Stampy I only managed one or two before the update. I’m going to put it out to the universe: more donuts for Kim and Kitty! More more, we want more!

Congrats to All who snatched up EARL !! Missed the episode but the recap was excellent! I found vandalizing as much as possible to be the key IMO to acquiring donuts bc yesterday i visuted all but 2 friends and still got 6!
Woohoo…I missed the episode as well…was why I came in late to let that talk die a little…instead watched a semi-classic, 1987’s “Batteries Not Included” …found in $5 bin at walmart… 🙂

Whacking Day question…If this does go down, is it one of those events where you need to corral your characters in one area or just normal wide open Springfield?
Depends how they present it to us. Last time the snakes went all over. You needed clear open spaces to put the eggs, or at least somewhere open to drop them.
No idea what’s gonna happen. Just a feeling something big is gonna hit this week. Only time will tell.
Don’t you think the use of eggs was a lean towards Easter? I sped-read Wookiee’s blog about it…didn’t absorb any storyline, heard “eggs” and thought Easter… 🙂
Lol. Well snakes lay eggs too. So when you’d tap you would release more snakes, eggs, or a rare donut.
I liked to think of it as nod to a.mix of easter too myself. I had fun with the eggs. 🙂
I have a follow up question for this? (day late…) As a person who just started playing this Valentines Day and is land poor, would it help to do something like replacing all roads with pavement and storing parking spaces? I don’t want to store cash earning buildings… right now I’m in various spots in the Military Antiques quest, celeb-o-mania quest, Bread and Putter Quest, Bad Cops Quest, and Skinnerrrrr and I’m getting ready to start For the Love of Marge. I don’t have any total house farms (though I do have some brown houses as prison barracks…. thanks person I borrowed that idea from!), but there isn’t a lot of park land. just trying to figure out how to be a good neighbor…..
I myself actually prefer the pavement to the roads. You can place objects on them and manipulate them to look as big or as small as you want. You can also add decorations/shrubs to them to make them “appear” to have curves and paths in them. It is really great that way. 🙂
I always wonder about stuff like if I put Lisa on 8hrs to watch Rod&Todd do I get $ from them since they are required? (why aren’t Bart & Lisa required for Grandpa to watch?) Same question for like Mr.Burns&Smithers money fight, CBG&Agnus, etc…? I bought Manjula and since her 1&24hr task require Apu I need to know if he collects also? I can’t tell since I tap away when stuff is ready. any info?
The payout on the main character that initiates it is the ONLY payout you will get. Just look at their task bars to see what it will bring. If all characters involved show a payout for that task, then you will get those totals combined. Rodd & Todd do not add anything to Lisa’s task really. So it is one task I don’t use a lot. You get more sending them separate.

Question for the Addicts crew, if we send in images (say for the Springfield Showoff or what not) do you guys have a preferred image format? Just curious. I normally use .jpg for web stuff but realized that the image I submitted for the Springfield Showoff was saved as a .tif file (because I tend to save everything as an uncompressed .tif and then convert to .jpg before uploading the image). The image didn’t make the cut (which I am totally cool with) but it got me thinking about file formats.
I got it too late to make the post, sorry. I was able to open it and save it another way. But yah, JPEG or PNG is preferred if you can’t send me a dropbox or Flickr link. Those I can usually save direct. Anyway you send it, if I get it in time, I try to make it work. Was traveling this time around so I had to finish the post prior to losing WiFi on the plane. No worries, you can still link it to our Flickr account for all to see. 🙂
It’s all good. I’ve been busy the past couple of weeks myself… It took me longer to send the file than I had intended… Any way, I’m sure I’m in the minority of people worrying about file formats, but it’s good to know for future reference.
Woo Hoo! E.A.R.L is in the water! No donuts tonight though. Has anyone noticed a pattern for getting them? Maybe you tap the same buildings or from vandalizing? I’m saving for Apu’s apartments and Mount Krustmore, and of course anything cool and limited from a future upcoming update (whack whack hisssssss meow SWAT!)
Hahaha. Gotta get them claws sharp and ready, right? I do think there is a pattern. When I first maxed out my FP level I was visiting krustylands and was rewarded no donuts. I think it does have a lot to do with vandalizing. Once I switched back to Springfield I saw one or two pop up in my bank. So I think its probably every so many vandalizations. Not sure tho. Bunny had a theory too, I just don’t remember what it was.
It seemed to me that vandalism brought more. I can’t confirm or deny this, just my personal experience. Everyone seems to have so many different odds, I just don’t know. Lol 😉

Anyone have any idea what amount the Blue XP bar increases by every time you score your bonus donuts? I want to calculate how much money spent on weather stations it will require to get my cracker factory.

Hello, I would just like to take a moment and talk about the future of Simpson Tapped Out (STO). I have been loving the changes and upgrades to the game that the creators have been doing, but like many of you I have maxed out to level 39 and I have bought every building and ornament possible so now the game is at some what of a stand still till the next update. I am waiting and hoping that they will come out with another land expansion package but it would be really cool if they put a twist on it like making the new section of lands desert or farmland because as you see with many Simpsons episodes Springfield is surrounded by a ray of topography. By doing this we then could open up the world to many things like the Simpson family farm or Springfield gorge, and provide an appropriate place for mt. Carolmore. As well a play like this could bring in hundreds of more decorations and storylines. Anyway I rambled on enough I would like to know what others think and hopefully get some attention to the creators. And thanks to you guys who run this tapapoloooas cause you do an awesome job! Keep on tappin
E.A.R.L is sitting in my inventory, awaiting the day I buy more water land. It’ll be awhile, I probably won’t continue the rest of Squidport beyond the boat and the one store I have there until level 39ish.
Anyway, after workweeks of trees, newspaper dispensers and $250 bundles of cash, I finally got a Homer Buddha in the mystery box and scored the tree swing! Sure, it might not be Moleman or Squeaky Voiced Teen, but it fits nicely in my park and gives a bonus to everything so I’m happy with it. Plus, I got two donuts in the last 24 hours for visiting friends – 4 more donuts and I can get both SVT and Kearney if I wanted to, but I’m holding out for at least Otto if not Luann.
those bonus %’s really add up! 🙂
Finally got E.A.R.L. today. And managed 1 free donut before I finished visited my neighbors. But my squidport area is a shame right now. I haven’t maxed out my tiles yet and it just seems like there’s not enough room for anything fancy. (Could just be me) lol. So how’s everyone else doing??

Hey girls…I’ve gotten 6 donuts since getting earl two days ago…most I can say is I get them around the 80th neighbor or so but I’m kinda weird with my tapping…I look at everyone’s town before I tap…Alissa, yesterday I tapped your Moe’s and the building beside it popped instead…I went nuts…more than I already am!!! Evil, you’re not a December baby are you? 🙂 …your number is my birthday…lol
Okay I have few things to say:
1.I just saw Frozen loved it who else did
2.My Tampa Bay Rays are going to go the world series (I live in Jacksonville btw and so my NFL is the Jags not Bucs)
3.I was soo happy that the Gators FSU fan here
4.I want to a big update this week maybe tomorrow and want it to be Whacking as I started at the end of Christmas update and my best friend told that whacking is fun. That is I know it alot and also that Let It Go has been in head all weekend
