In Game Update: HotFix/Patch

There was another update to the game. It looks to be to correct a lot of errors and issues with original release. I am currently going through the info to see what changes it has made and see if it clarifies whether the Gypsy Fortune Teller Shop and Maude are 25 donuts or 150 donuts. The original files showed 25 donuts.

update 492014

Will update with info as I find it…

UPDATE 5:45PM EST:
CONFIRMATION. The combo is now 150 donuts. So for all you lucky people that got the combo at 25 Donuts…you got one heck of a good deal. For everyone else, sorry. You now have to pay the full price for post. It makes a lot more sense now as to why just Maude was 90 donuts.

Until Next Time…

  1. I really don’t like the friend points, all my friends took out the app off their phones. Reason being is it takes to much memory. I bought a new phone for I can still play it. Do now I got no friends and getting FP takes forever. It would be nice that anyone that starts a new games or sign up to get possible friends thur our email or vise versa. Also in the past I notice 7 doughnuts was missing too. Last thing when does the free tombstones end? Thank you Steven R.

  2. I may be going crazy …. But does anyone else hear the slight distortion in some characters voices? It has happened to me since the first update (the one that brought us the Maude/Homer interaction) and I haven’t seen anyone post about it. Is it just my game?

Or am I the only one who plays with the volume slightly up? 😉 (I still jump a bit when Krusty says “Ouch!”)

    • I haven’t noticed a change in my game. May want to try a simple log out and restart of your device to see if that clears it up. May just be your device.

  3. Did anyone else notice that the Friend Point target was 1500 prior to the fix but is now 3000? Or was I just dreaming?

  4. I figure if I bought everything I WANTED in the game and it cost me a few hundred dollars broken down into play time and took my time enjoying each item, since there is only so much content. ie Barney, duff man, Springfield sign you know in order if my ‘wants’ it would still be less than $10 a month. I know people who have a gym membership for that price they don’t even use. I can spend $10 a month on something I’m addicted to. long gone are the consol games we paid $50 for and beat in less than a month… they now have expansion packs, online pay/play, tournaments, blah blah. I’m not on EA’s side everyone want everything free. They give plenty of content to be free. If you WANT something pay for it or play long enough to earn donuts like Bunny said over 800 were given in less than a year. skip a different indulgence like going out one night and buy donuts that you’ll enjoy the entirety of your game. no I’m not a life coach just a realist like my Springfield.

  5. Went to sleep last night after checking my town. When I woke up and went to log in I was back at the opening cut scene with Homer destroying the town. I play on my kindle… I logged out and back in… still the same… any advice?

  6. Woohoo! So glad I jumped on the combo at 25 donuts, which I had earned all from visiting friends and bonus levelling up. I thought they were just being really nice to those of us who didn’t get them free. I think it’s a great idea that it doesn’t anger the players who “earned them” free, and it be a very reasonable amount of donuts for latecomers. I’m sorry to see they went with the increased price later, because I was hoping it was a trend that would continue, and actually thinking of buying some donuts (for the first time).

Wow I am pretty annoyed they changed this – if they made such a silly mistake it’s their problem & ought to leave it so their players are treated equally. I waited til after work to start this quest and so missed the price despite playing several times every day for ages 🙁 Was so excited yesterday when I’d read there was a combo I could afford for a change but guess like someone else wrote they’ll just have to lose out on the revenue instead of having tons of people buy for 25 instead of a few paying 150…

    • Yah…it has happened in the past with the wheels. Some had the wheel cleared in a matter of moments, while the rest played it out over the weeks. It was an error to begin with that they had to correct. It’s like those Delta flights that oopsed and went on sale for like 50$ a flight for ALL flights. They caught it and fixed it, but a lot of people got one heck of a deal first.

  8. 😮 I missed it? I thought they were nice with a cheap item and just didn’t had time to check yesterday evening…. It seems they are nice to only a few people, the rest can just….. pay a lot for the same….

It would be better if they gave everyone the joy. Take your loss, leave it at 25. Its limited time anyway and it probably wouldn’t even be a loss, because way more people would buy it… 🙁

    • Just calculate: You need something like 7000 donuts to get every premium item that is available right now. That is 270 euro’s if you buy the biggest pack 3 times (7200 donuts, so trow in a limited item and you’re there :p)…

Isn’t that a bit much for a few extra decorations and characters? Some of you say you got all the premium… I wonder if you knew before you started buying that it would cost you multiple hundreds of dollars, that you still wanted to buy? :p

This calculation prevented me for buying anything at all… Because it would quickly become way to expensive. I’ll manage with the free donuts I guess..

      • I can see that seaming quite outrageous when you buy them all outright, that is true.

Just don’t forget you also need to factor in the fact that a lot of the items were originally free during original quest play, some were available at a discount during a Gil Deal or Yard Sale, and speaking of Gil Deal…donuts go on sale and you can get a ton for a good price, you can acquire free donuts with regular game play. To date, in my Freemium Game, I was able to acquire at least 800+ FREE Donuts from leveling up and events. Halloween and the new Social Event added a TON.

It is all a matter of how you play the game. My A game is still a Freemium game. I don’t have all the items in it, but I enjoy playing the game just fine. 🙂

    • Yah…it is one of those things that have happened in the past. Someone put the wrong info in the codes and they caught it fast. They lost a lot of revenue on those that were able to snag it right away. We have never seen anything that cost for a combo, so I had a feeling. That’s why I kept rechecking it. I am just glad some were able to snag it at the lower rate.
