We have a new episode tie in! But, with the new premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide whether to buy it or to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Fortune Teller Shop & Ghost Maude to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this ghostly addition to your Springfield.
Building: Fortune Teller Shop
Character: Ghost Maude
Donut Price: 150 donuts
Dimensions: 8×8
Payout: $55, 5xp every 1 hr
Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism +10
Pros:
-Maude comes with a complete set of tasks
-Premium character earns at a premium rate 50% more cash and XP
-Fortune Teller Shop impacts Consumerism on the conform-o-meter, one of the hardest to max out in the game
-One of the best animations in the game involving Homer, Maude & a T-Shirt Cannon 🙂
Cons:
-It was free during Halloween 2013 (well $2,000 in game cash)
-EA Glitch had it for 25 donuts when the update first launched, then released a hot fix to make it 150 donuts
Final Thought:
At 25 donuts this was a no brainer and I would be telling you all to jump on it and make the purchase…BUT with the price increase to 150 donuts this one has to make you take a step back and think.
I already have this from playing during Halloween 2013 and I do enjoy the T-Shirt Cannon animation BUT I can honestly tell you Maude is a character I don’t use all that often. She mostly just roams around my Springfield…well floats.
So on this one I’d say if you’re really wanting Maude in your game and you missed out during Halloween now’s your chance to pick her up BUT if you’re limited on donuts you might want to pass on this one. But in the end it’s your call. What you buy and what you don’t buy is your own personal choice we can only guide you on the facts and let you know what we did and what we think.
Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME building and once it’s gone, it’s gone…so be sure to get it before the event is over if you’re thinking about it.

Look in your full inventory, not the character or building tabs. I had the same problem.
All I wanted from the mystery box was Maude. After 5 tries, I finally got her along with the swamp monster, spooky looking house, homer tower, and the zombie dumpster.
got her from the tresure in helloween 2017 as 4th price.
i wanted her, just her and finally got her. thanks.
i love the outfit, that flanders family is finally complete and the questline.
but i dont think that she is 150d worth. so i m glad to spend just 65.
I got her back in 2013; her tasks are fun but I would never spend 150 donuts on her!
I only want Ghost Maude, I don’t really need the fortune shop. And I hope they bring this back! I just started playing this game a month ago…

I don’t have access to the “haunt Homer” or chat with Ned” jobs for Maude. They show as locked. How do I unlock those? Or were those only available during Halloween?
Homer and Ned have to be free for you to be able to do these tasks.
I joined sto at Christmas, and obviously missed out on some Halloween fun. That being said, I jumped on the purchase, and locked in with the 25 donut price tag. Only problem… I CAN’T UNLOCK MAUDE! I placed the building, just no sign of the floating ghost. Maude appears in the quest bubble, just not in my inventory or in my world. Did this happen to anyone else?
She is an individual character. Go back into your inventory (lil brown box) and scroll through until you find her there all by herself. Then place her and she will be able to start doing tasks in your game. 😉

We do not know yet. It is up to EA whether or not the game can handle more land. So it is up to them whether or not more will be released. We all would like some. 🙂
Is Maude premium now? Woo-hoo! Before this post, she was earning the regular rate in my town. So the joint task with Ned and Maude pays out $105 + $70 = $175 and 26 + 17 = 43 XP, I assume. And Maude and Homer’s task pays out $275 + $420 = $695 and 105 + 75 = 180 XP.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU! I just started playing the middle of January. I found you guys shortly after and it’s been the best thing ever. Because of you I have gotten all of my neighbors, won third place in the Valentines poem contest, (my first big score of donuts woo hoo!) gotten tons of helpful advice and now I was able to score Maude and the fortune teller shop for 25 donuts. EA deciding to bring back the $25.00 for a limited time offer (say on the Sunday of the episode’s airing, even) would be a benevolent and gracious act.
Otherwise, if EA brings it back for Halloween 2014 for in-game cash ***NOT DONUTS!*** , then I’ll add her to my Springfield.

This is a must buy folks it opens a series of funny dialogue and hilarious tasks.
In this tielove the reference to nedna maybe the first in the game. I hope this is a precursor to so nedna tasks, maybe a romantic walk and Edna haunted by Maude or better still Edna and Maude have a drink at the gilded truffle.
I read the post about the update and at 25 donuts immediately jumped on purchasing. I was able to get this before EA did the hot fix to correct the price. So happy that I read the posts and was able to act quickly.
