Should I Spend Donuts On Frink Egg Generator?

Hey Howdy Hey Bunny Zapping Tappers!

Easter has arrived in Springfield!  But, with the new Easter premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the MKII to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this egg generator to YOUR Springfield.

easter machine 2
Decoration: MKII
Donut Price: 75 donuts
Rewards: 300 eggs of non-dominant egg color/ 24hrs (after event $500, 45xp/24hrs)

Pros:
-Generates high volume of your non-dominant egg color
-Over the course of the event, can end up earning you more eggs than spending donuts direct at the store for eggs.
-Value/purpose after event is over.  It will still generate cash & xp for you.

Cons:
-Pricey!
-You will get a free Egg Generator, although it’s the MKI (which awards your dominant egg color) during main quest.
– If you buy, you have to buy early to make it full worth your investment.

Final Thought:
Personally,  I’m on the fence with this one.  My best advice is if you’re looking to spend donuts on eggs (which we don’t recommend doing) the barn gives you way more eggs because you get 5700 of each color. BUT if you’re only looking for your non-dominant color the egg generator is better. If you buy the generator today for 75 donuts over the course of the event (assuming stopping on May 12th) you’ll get over 6,000 eggs of your non-dominant color.  But the egg generator would take until may 12th to get you those eggs, where the barn would be instant.
In the end it’s your call.  What you buy and what you don’t buy is your own personal choice we can only guide you on the facts and let you know what we did and what we think.  Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME generator and once it’s gone, it’s gone…so be sure to get it before the event is over if you’re thinking about it.

What are your thoughts on the Egg Generator?  Will you be spending the donuts to add it to to YOUR Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, we LOVE hearing from you!

Has anyone else had the problem that the MK1 has switched to producing non-dominant (which is cool) but the MK2 has switched to producing the dominant egg color?! (Obviously not cool) It’s a pain, spending all of those donuts, and now I have even MORE pink eggs, which is not what I need….

  2. Hi, what does non-dominant eggs mean? Sorry if the question is stupid but I’m not a native English speaker.:)

Also, I bought frink egg generator MK II and it gives me pink eggs instead of blue? It has a picture of blue eggs when I click it, it shows 300 blue eggs and 30XP every 24 hours. Does the ‘non-dominant’ question above have anything to do with that?

  3. I’m new here.. new to the game, new to this blog.. I got the egg thingy for free..or was it something else? Looks the same though…Halp..?

  4. I’m using all my will power not to buy this and I’m happy to say this post has helped hold me back a bit 🙂
I’m trying to stay positive that I will unlock everything without using any donuts as I want to save my last 400 for some limited time buildings that might reappear in the next few months as I don’t really want to spend any more real money on this until possibly next Christmas for a good deal again

  5. Great article & really enjoy the TSTO gamer remarks as they are a big help for this newbie to the game (Great info staff!)

I ended up buying two MK I generators and two MK II generators last week.

I ended up getting as well, not only because it helps me to unlock the prizes in my non-dominant color box, but also the MK 1 looks ridiculously small next to the Frink lab. This makes it look better next to it, plus it will generate $ after the Easter event. Plus, as a Frink geek, gotta have this one along with his MHV car, robot dog, and Cremobot! 🙂

  8. Actually bought this after I read the post that it gives you the “non-dominant” colored eggs!!! I thought it was just a bigger version of MK I, now I can assure myself that I would get all the prizes 🙂

  9. I bought the MK ii the very first day of the event and I haven’t been sorry I did. (I was glad to learn from you guys though, that the MK i was given as part of a quest so I didn’t need one). It helped me not get discouraged, knowing that with my tapping neighbors and this, I’d definitely earn a non-dominant box a day.

  10. I’m sure this has been touched on already, but if you get a few good friends of the other color and swap occasionally, you’d be surprised how cheaply you can go through this event…yes, I accidentally got the big wad of eggs(5700 of both) and really enjoyed swapping with friends, but I soon saw the advantage of this…Inevitably, while helping my friends, I was helping myself…even when low, I know I can give my blue eggs to get the pink ones I need, and will get my blues back from tapping… 🙂 …oh but if I had lots and lots of donuts, I’d want that frinkalater egg popper too!!! 🙂

  11. I got it some days ago because I reallyreallyreally want to have the Blocko Store (they started selling the Simpsons Lego minifigures in Germany today! Whoot!) and was afraid I wouldn’t get it without additional pink eggs (I am in the blue egg group). So I decided to buy early. And it’s certainly nice to look at which the barn eggs wouldn’t be.

  12. I bought this one. I think its a great addition to the Frink Compound and generates donuts!

  13. I definate think so. I’m a premium player and tbh in struggling with this event , the egg currency is terrible I’ve been doing things legit visited most of my neighbours until I started getting 1 egg per action traded some eggs. Then after a days worth of visitis had enough to spend on blue box hoping to get gold eggs….but what did I get my 88th fence 🙂 this is ridiculous. I do to like complaining as I love this game but I liked the events were say for example we just collect as much snakes, goo, presents that’s fair then ok if you still want to be evil EA add roulette wheel then go ahead and do so with other rare items not base the whole event around them. In visiting my friends towns and out of 100 I think 3 have blocko building. This is a real grind this event defiantly not spending any more money, I know you guys said don’t worry 81 spins with gold box but technically it’s a hell if a lot more because you actually need to acquire hold eggs….just frustrating tbh event is just not fun at least let me sell these 88 fences!!!!!!!😫 seriously gonna need all help you can get so I would say even but 10 of those frink egg generators if you like game that much

    • Save your donuts…PLEASE. Just wait. Don’t spend them all. Hang on to some. Buy if you feel you must…but don’t spend them all. 😉

  14. I’m confused about where it says “decoration: natural faberge egg” (just under the picture). Is that a typo?

  15. Oh, you could even hold off on the barn until the 10th, maybe you won’t need it!

  16. Dr. Math here, to rescue you from this conundrum.

The barn is a better idea, ignoring the monetary return after the event.

If it ends May 13, and you buy either one today:
MKii will give you 21*300=6,300 eggs for 75 donuts = 84 eggs/donut – spread out over the whole event.
    The Barn will give you 2*5,700 = 11,400 eggs for 100 donuts = 114 eggs/donut – right now.
Even if EA extends it a week,
MKii will give you 28*300= 8,400 eggs for 75 donuts = 112 eggs/donut – spread across the whole event.

In my opinion, if you are level 30+ and don’t need an extra 500/day get the barn.
If you are a newish player, get the MKii – the extra income and XP after the event could be nice, and EA is sure to extend this past the 12th at least for a couple of days.

Oh, break even point where MKii=Barn? 29 days!

    • Yup but the difference is the MKii will give you 8,400 of your non-dominant egg color…where the barn will only get you 5700 of your non-dominant egg color. More eggs yes…but most likely you won’t need the additional 5700 of your dominant egg color after you finish the main questline 🙂

      • Probably closer to 6300 donuts, which is not much different from 5700. AND you COULD trade the 5700 dominant color eggs for 2850 non-dominant, giving you a total of 9150. Still a better deal IMNSHO.
        😉

    • Cguy…..you are absolutely correct in your summation……but you have failed to take in to account one, key (vital) piece of evidence of this stellar equation!……….the MKII has FLASHING lights…..I rest my case!! Lol

    • Psssh bout time you show up. Slacker. 😛

  17. I snagged a few of each. They scream ‘Frink’s lab!’ Much like the ghost zapper.

  18. I bought it yesterday and don’t regret it – well apart from the fact that I didn’t buy it earlier.

I see two more reasons, than mentioned in this article:

    1. It perfectly fits to my Frink’s Lab and the Ultrahouse. You can make a nice Tech-Area there. Unfortunately, I started TSTO too late to get the Collider. This qould have been a perfect addition to this science area.

    2. Well, I didn’t do the math here. BUT, it is possible, that these extra eggs may help you to rech the 50 fences treshhold. If it is the 300 eggs per day that is responsible to accumulate the 50 fences, then you get 15 Donuts as a “Return on Investement”, hence the MKII cost you just 60 Donuts instead of 75… 😉

At least that is the way im looking at it.

  19. Mine does not generate the NON dominant color egg. Is there something I can do?

    • It’s a known glitch with EA that they’re currently working on. However, make sure you contact them to let them know you’re experiencing the same issue so they can make sure you’re credited back. You can contact EA here. 🙂
