Over the last few months we have been dropping “subtle hints” in regards to a nice lil treat coming to our readers. We just had to wait first for the items to be released. Why? Well because we LOVE spoiling our AMAZING readers on our blog here (as usual) with random contests. CONTEST??!! (Yup, I said the magic words.) WOOHOO!!!
We all seem to fit together here on this blog quite nicely. No matter how dysfunctional we can be. So what better way to celebrate that than to give away LEGO Simpsons Minifigures!! WOOHOO!!
How will this work? Over the period of a week (Starting Sunday May 11th, 2014), we will have a “Scavenger Hunt” of sorts for our readers. Scattered throughout our posts for each day will be key words. Don’t worry, they will be OBVIOUS to locate. There may be one in each post, or there may be one in every other post. You won’t know until you look.
Collect the information for each of these key words and keep them handy as the following week we will put up a LEGO Contest Open Thread. You just comment with the items you found in the previous weeks posts and that is it. We will close the Open Thread at the end of the night and all that answered will be put into the random name generator and winners will be announced. A total of FIVE Winners will be chosen each day. If you didn’t win… no worries… you can enter again the next LEGO Contest Open Thread.
The LEGO Contest Open Thread will correspond with the day of the previous week. Monday’s LEGO Contest Open Thread will be for the previous Monday’s Posts Scavenger Hunt Items. Tuesday’s LEGO Contest Open Thread will be for the previous Tuesday’s Posts Scavenger Hunt Items. Etc.
You can win up to a total of TWO times. Once your name is chosen the 2nd time, you will no longer be eligible. This is open to EVERYONE. Including past winners. So anyone can enter.
So how do the prizes work? The 5 Winners will each get ONE LEGO Minifigure. We will have a predetermined set of characters picked out. 3 opened and 2 blind bags. The first two Winners will have the option to pick one open or one blind bag, the remaining will then get passed on to the next 2, and so on until all 5 characters are awarded. (Gotta make it a lil interesting.)
Now for the important legal stuff…make sure you read it all. 🙂
Official Rules:
-Open to tstoaddicts.com readers age 18 and older.
-Contest Entries will open from time the LEGO Contest Open Thread is posted until midnight EST that same day. Any entries received after that time will not be eligible to win.
-Each contestant may only submit ONE entry per LEGO Contest Open Thread! (7 entries total. NO revisions once submitted. If multiple entries are submitted by the same reader only the FIRST entry submitted will be accepted. This means we will not accept multiple comments from the same person. So think hard before you post it.)
-Valid email address must be provided when submitting an entry. This will be how we will contact you to let you know you won. Invalid emails will be withdrawn and not eligible for the contest. (This is the email address you fill out and provided in the comment form, they are not published on the blog and only view-able by the Addicts blog staff. If you already created a Gravatar, just ensure the accurate email address was used for contact.)
-This contest open to EVERYONE. However be aware that our friends outside of the US, 18 and older, you may enter the contest but an alternate prize may be awarded at our discretion if there is an issue shipping the prizes to you.
-Void where prohibited
-No purchase necessary
-Addicts Staff and their family members are not eligible to participate.
-You must provide us a legal mailing address within 1 week of winning or you will be disqualified and any prizes won will be forfeited.
-All entries will be reviewed by the Addicts Team prior to posting results.
-Each LEGO Simpson Character is valued at $3.99 USD

Don’t know how I missed the original thread, but I already know where you’re putting the words (I’m smart like that ya know) LOL! Funny, the first thought that came to mind about it when I read “What do you think of when you see this?” was ouch, grrr ouch ewww ouch 😉 (my son had **many** Legos as a child).

I will try to be more observant…however…I haven’t entered any of these contests!!! 🙂
So are you going to make it hidden answers or so that everyone reading the open thread can see what someone else put? If the latter then essentially everyone can just copy what someone else put which takes the fun out of the hunt. IMHO it should be blind postings via a form rather than comments – hopefully that is what you are doing.
It’s going to be a blind posting. It’ll be similar to what the current Easter Poll is like. The answers will get submitted that way so they’re more organized for the random pull of the top 5. 🙂
Ok…….I finally figured it out…..I feel soooo stupid because the answer was plainly, right in front of my face (it could not be more obvious). Ok…here it is…..you take the first letter from the 5th word in every 3rd sentence, then you add those to the 3rd letter of the 14th word in each paragraph. If you do this correctly you’ll get the hidden contest word which…of course is: EHSURNVBDHSJFYRB…..TADA!!! NOW did I win?😜
Rad idea! I bought a few of these the other day at Toys R Us… Alas I have two Apus and a Ralph Wiggum. Now if the was only a way we can start a trade… Hmmmmmmmm

I’m all over this! So let me confirm, there will be hidden words each day for a week and then open threads each day for a week? So we need to keep track of which words we found each specific day, not the total of the week?
