Real Housewives of Springfield: Crazy Cat Lady

Welcome Addicts to a new addition to our posts. In this little game of ours, we tend to forget those characters that are few and far between. We get so involved in the game, so into the latest events…that we sometimes forget to pay attention to the little things. The little details that make the Springfield world go around. The thing that seems to be really lacking/missing from Springfield.

What exactly is it I am going on about? What is so terribly important to the game that would draw such attention. WOMEN OF COURSE! To be a bit more specific, The Real Housewives of Springfield (and maybe a mistress or 3. Gotta have the drama aspect in any series, right?).

So keep your eyes on our blog as we take you on a new journey into the lives of each of the women currently and NOT currently available in the game.

This week I am going to be taking you inside the life of Dr. Eleanor Abernathy, MD JD aka The Crazy Cat Lady. She was just going to be a silly random character in one Episode, but was liked so much…she was allowed to stick around and continually appear here and there. 

So just how on earth did this crazy old woman become what she is now? Was she normal at one time? What pushed her over the edge? Well let’s dive into her story…

Season 9, Episode  21: Girly Edition
Bart and Lisa are competing to be the lead anchor on the Kidz Newz show that Channel 6 has created. Bart gets help from Kent and gets a lot of attention from his Human Interest Stories. Lisa now tries to find a great back story that will show everyone that she is just as good as Bart. She ends up outside Crazy Cat Lady’s (CCL) run down home. “Can anyone that loves cats that much truly be crazy?” Well, just then CCL opens the door and starts hurling cats at Lisa. Lisa tries again to tell a story about an “abandoned” rail line…just as a train passes by. Once the last car goes by we again see CCL just waiting, cats at the ready, to hurl them at Lisa.

This is the first time in the Series that we got a glimpse of the Crazy Cat Lady we now know. But there has to be more to her.

Season 16, Episode 8: Homer and Ned’s Hail Mary Pass
The Simpsons are taking a stroll in what use to be a beautiful Springfield Park. It is now a run down garbage infested dump taken over by transients. They run into CCL there…or is it Eleanor? The Simpsons are shocked that she is…normal? She explains that she takes a psychoactive medication gives her brief moments of lucidity, until Marge points out they are just Reeses Pieces, and it is back to hurling cats.

It is here, regardless of what she was on, we catch a glimpse of what was Eleanor. So we must dig a lil deeper to find out what happened.

Season 18, Episode 13: Springfield Up
A documentary, Growing Up Springfield, on the background of many characters in Springfield is being told. Following most from their early childhood to their current status. We see lil Eleanor at age 8 with hopes and dreams of becoming a doctor and a lawyer. At age 24, we see she had graduated Harvard Medical an Yale Law.

But then 8 years later, we see a different Eleanor. A lil burnt out, smoking, and “occasionally” having a glass of wine with her cat Buster. We can start to see a lil bit of crazy showing through. She even talks about possibly getting another cat. Flash Forward to an elderly Crazy Cat Lady hurling cats and her Yale University Degree at the camera.

So it seems that this poor woman was very highly intelligent and talented at one time. An amazing career. Two jobs (doctor and a lawyer). Life just got too difficult and she got a lil too burnt out. One stressful jobs like that is enough to make a person snap, let alone two. Maybe that occasional drink turned into occasionally NOT drinking. Makes you sad to think that a brilliant mind like that went to waste. On the flip side, we wouldn’t have CCL without Eleanor’s meltdown. Lol.

Is there any other signs left that Eleanor still exists somewhere in there?

Season 17, Episode 6: See Homer Run
After a massive crash involving pretty much the entire town, Homer rescues many from the fires. The town calls Homer a hero. He is awarded a key card to the city during a town meeting. Quimby’s press secretary and nephew points out that Quimby is an awful Mayor. He reminds the townspeople only a Recall Vote can remove him from office. So a recall vote it is. It seems everyone wants to run. Luigi, Wolfcastle, Homer, Kent, Old Gil, Miss Springfield, and even Jimbo. Of course Eleanor is running too. At the Springfield Mayoral Debate, Kent asks her how she would boost the cities commercial tax base. She rambles incoherently but bits and pieces do come through like; small business incentives, corporate accountability, and cats in everyone’s pants.

Well, I guess there is a little bit of her left. A small small bit.What about a love life? She has to had someone special around at one time or another, right?

Season 20, Episode 16: Eeny Teeny Maya, Moe
Moe started an online romance with someone named Maya. She never heard his knock knock jokes. As he is telling her about himself, he states there is a creepier man next to him…errr…actually it is a woman. Crazy Cat Lady in fact. She reminds Moe they used to have a cat together, that just had some babies, then she proceeds to hurl the kittens at Moe.

Interesting. I can definitely see her being his kind of woman. Lol. Makes you wonder if there were any others?

Season 22, Episode 13: The Blue and Gray
It is Valentine’s Day in Springfield and love is most definitely in the air, even for the CCL. She is outside one of the shops hurling her cats when she realizes a dog was hurled at her. She see a Crazy Dog Man with dogs just a building over. It looks like it is love at first cat/dog. Not sure how long that romance will be able to last as the cats and dogs don’t seem to be taking so kindly to one another.

So it does seem that even the craziest of people can have a shot at romance. WOOHOO!! I have a chance!! 😉

Now just how did CCL make it into our games? Well she was introduced via the Easter Event 2014. You can purchase her and her home as a combination for 180 donuts. She comes with some pretty hilarious tasks that rival her craziness in the Simpsons Episodes not to mention another house to add to our towns.

So there you have it. A character people have been asking EA to bring into the game for a while is now a permanent one available to buy in our silly lil games.
