Real Housewives of Springfield: Miss Hoover

Welcome Addicts to a new addition to our posts. In this little game of ours, we tend to forget those characters that are few and far between. We get so involved in the game, so into the latest events…that we sometimes forget to pay attention to the little things. The little details that make the Springfield world go around. The thing that seems to be really lacking/missing from Springfield.

What exactly is it I am going on about? What is so terribly important to the game that would draw such attention. WOMEN OF COURSE! To be a bit more specific, The Real Housewives of Springfield (and maybe a mistress or 3. Gotta have the drama aspect in any series, right?).

So keep your eyes on our blog as we take you on a new journey into the lives of each of the women currently and NOT currently available in the game.

This week I am going to be taking you inside the life of Miss Elizabeth Hoover, B.Ed.  A single woman. A teacher at Springfield Elementary. Now another great female added to our little game. But what is her story? Anything interesting about her other than the men she dates?

Miss Elizabeth Hoover

Well let’s take a look into her life and story beginning with when she first was brought into the Simpsons TV Series.

Season 1, Episode 5: Bart the General
The episode starts out with Homer opening the oven and seeing the delicious baked cupcakes. Bart also tries to snag one. Marge warns them not to touch, they’re for Lisa’s teachers birthday. Miss Hoover’s birthday. We don’t get to actually see Miss Hoover, only hear her name spoken by Lisa.

It wasn’t until another full Season had passed that we actually are able to see what Miss Hoover looks like…at least the starting version of her.

Season 2, Episode 18: Brush with Greatness
Inspired by some of her Ringo Starr paintings from her youth, Marge decides to take up a class painting. An art piece she painted of Homer ends up winning first prize. Smithers, looking for someone to paint Mr. Burns, sees her win in the newspaper and commisions her to paint Mr. Burns. At the unveiling of his “self portrait” we catch the first glimpse of Miss Hoover discussing the painting with Dr. Hibbert. (With quite the blue hair I might add.)

Hoover 2

What about her love interests. She IS a single lady. Was there ever a man in her life that could have been “the one”.

Season 9, Episode 17: The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons
Single men are in short supply in Springfield at the Bachelor Auction. Marge points out that Apu is single. He seems quite a catch to the ladies. A group of 5 women pool their money together to bid on him and win. Miss Hoover just so happens to be one of those ladies. She is seen later quite dressed up just returning from their date…with a giant stuffed panda “Wubsy” that he won for her. She kisses him on the cheek goodnight. (Her hair is a darker brown with almost some red in it.) Per Apu, she is gonna be a hard date to top…but he will see. As this is the episode that Apu and Manjula meet up, I do not think that relationship went anywhere special.

Hoover 4

I wonder if she had better luck with other men.

Season 18, Episode 21: 24 Minutes
Skinner has set up the CTU or Counter Truancy Unit to monitor all goings on in Springfield Elementary. Maybe he should have told some of the teachers about all the hidden cameras as the first image you see is Miss Hoover making out with Willie.

Hoover 5

I don’t know if Willie is quite a fit for her. Possibly? But I do not think she stuck around to find out. She seems to be more the love em n leave em type.

Season 20, Episode 6: Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words
Homer offers to break up with Seymore for Krabappel in exchange for beer. The thing is, he is really good at it. He quickly becomes the “Breakup King” and everyone wants him to make that uncomfortable split for them. Even Miss Hoover who apparently just got proposed to on the Jumbo Tron at the Stadium. A digital Homer blows up the question and answers with, “She wants to see other people.”

Hoover 6

Will she ever find happiness? Or is she doomed to be a serial dater the rest of her life?

Season 25, Episode 18: Days of Future Future
We see what looks to be a STILL single and much much older Miss Hoover hooking up with the Adult Bart Simpson. (AYE CARUMBA!!)

Hoover 1

She seems a bit unstable at times. We do catch some glimpses of this throughout the Series too.

Season 2, Episode 19: Lisa’s Substitute
Rumors are flying around the school about Miss Hoover. Things like her drinking a bottle of drain cleaner, she fell down a well, or that she’s been dumped again. Miss Hoover enters with Skinner who is consoling her. (A bit light colored hair I might add). She just came from the doctor and…she has Lyme Disease. She is sent home and later replaced by substitute teacher, Mr. Bergstrom. We later find out that her Lyme Disease was actually “Psychosomatic”. It means she was both a lil crazy and faking it. She tries to explain to the kids that when something is in all the magazines and TV shows it makes you start to think you have. it.

Hoover 3

She isn’t even seen in  Season 24, Episode 15: Black Eyed, Please. Instead Skinner announces to the class just why she is taking a leave of absence (Severe Depression) and what meds she is on (Lorazepam, Benzodiazepine family).

So it could be that it isn’t the guys…it is HER. She also can be quite a spitfire.

Season 22, Episode 10: Mom’s I’d Like to Forget
After a final Dodgeball war between the 5th and 4th graders, Bart and the 4th grade assumed they won. The ball however had never touched the ground and the 5th grader caught it as it came back down from the air. The fights continue as the 4th and 5th grade continue to fight over the win. It even spills over into the Teacher’s Lounge. Her we see Miss Hoover not afraid to get her hands dirty in a brawl. Even after getting tossed out the door during the fight, she picks herself back up again, dusts herself off, and storms right back in.

Hoover 9

She also seems to HATE her teaching career and will find any excuse to avoid it at all chances.

Season 6, Episode 21: The PTA Disbands
A fed up Krabappel has had enough of the fund shortage at the school and rallies all the other teachers to go in strike with her. She joins up and follows Krabappel by holding signs and marching out front of the Elementary.

Hoover 8

Season 21, Episode 10: Once Upon a Time in Springfield
Miss Hoover is looking as “enthusiastic” as usual as she attempts to “enjoy” her students reports. Makes you wonder just why she keeps doing it. Anyone that would have to put up with Ralphie on a daily basis has to have a LOT of patience.

Hoover 11

Do you think Miss Hoover ever wanted to be anything OTHER than a teacher?

Season 10, Episode 15: Marge Simpson in: “Screaming Yellow Honkers”.
The Faculty is putting on a Talent Show. It is here that we see Miss Hoover all dressed up, singing, and dancing her heart out. She seemed to be doing pretty well, though it was just a few minutes. Makes you wonder how different Springfield Elementary and the kids would have been without her teaching Lisa’s class. If she had followed an actual dream instead.

Hoover 10

There you have it. A woman that drinks, smokes, runs around, dances, parties, breaks down mentally, and overall just tries to get by. What a woman. Lol.

  1. Season 25 episode 18 (you forgot the 18) had a great line from Bart: “Wow. Now I see why they call you Ms. Hoover.” Looking at the picture on top, kinda hard to believe they haven’t added Mrs. Lovejoy to the game yet. Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the children?!

    • Lol…it was a lil risque, so I left it out…But yes…AWESOME line. Lol. 😉

And I am thinking Helen Lovejoy isn’t far off.

      • I think the line was fine when you follow it up with his next line “You vacuumed for like an hour.”

  2. I love when you post the tasks, and if will be inside or outside, I prefer outside tasks, and your info helps tremendously.

    Thank you!
    🙂

  3. Oh yes, the talent show. Forgot where that red miniskirt dress came from. Thanks for the flashback!
