Should I Spend Donuts on the Duff Party Liner?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Level 41 is here (woohoo!) and with it comes the Duff Party Liner, an all new premium decoration for your water.  Now, as with all new premium content you may be asking “Should I Spend Donuts On THIS?”  Well before you hit that confirm button, lets break down the Pros and Cons of adding this floating party your Springfield!
duffpartyliner_menu

Decoration: Duff Party Liner
Donut Price: 100 donuts
Unique?: Yes, only 1 allowed in your town.
Bonus: 2.75% (bonus cash and XP to all tasks)
Bonus % Per Donut Spent: 0.03%
Conform-o-Meter Points: Vanity +750
Where Can I Place It?: Water only.

Pros:
-Another boat for your water, 1 less thing to take up valuable land space
-2.75% bonus on all cash and XP is a decent bonus payout
-Animated.  When tapped it releases fireworks and makes noise.
-It looks cool

Cons:
-Expensive.  100 donuts is a lot to pay for a boat (Knight Boat is only 40 donuts in comparison).
-It’s huge!  17×4 in size, may not be so easy to fit in the tight spaces around your boardwalk.

Final Thought: For me….this is a must buy, on the cool factor alone.  I love the animation for it & I love all things Duff in my Springfield.  So this was an item I jumped on right away.  However, at 100 donuts it’s not a cheap investment.  The 2.75% bonus is a nice return for the donuts spent.  To put it into perspective…the whale is 300 donuts and gives a 7% bonus.  The Duff Party Liner is 1/3 the cost and the pay out is better than 1/3 the bonus % of the whale.  So it’s a decent return on your donut investment.
Of course water in TSTO is one of the most expensive tiles of land to purchase, so it’s understandable if you don’t have enough water open to accommodate the Party Liner  AND Squidport.  But once some opens up it’s definitely a good investment!
In the end it’s your call.  What you buy and what you don’t buy is your own personal choice we can only guide you on the facts and let you know what we did and what we think.

  1. Just go it for 80 D’s

  2. I understand but I had to buy Party Liner Boat. I hope some more houses and cars will come out soon. And yes Springfield needs a bank and new items for Krustyland.

  3. I did it, had to after seeing the animation LOL!

  4. I so would have bought a whale if we were allowed to beach them 😉 I did leave some room in my squidport if I decide to buy one later… sort of an enclosed seaworld attraction theme 🙂

  5. Bought it straight away I’m now looking to develop my Marina….

  6. I guess I’m going to have to buy it,,, eventually probably sooner than later since it looks like all my neighbors are buying it LOL. The animation is kewl though. I still like Silver’s idea, would love to see them all partying on it in an outdoor task 😀

  7. I’m a Duff fanatic too 😛 and the animation is one of the best in this game. I didn’t hesitate either and it’s proudly floating in my SP. Too bad there isn’t a task associated with it for all the Springfielders to party down on the Liner 🙂

  8. Need I answer!?!😜 Of course this “completest” bought the boat! But, I must admit, this water themed builder LOVES boats………fill the harbor, I say!

(Now if they would only release more car options…..or..the holiest of all “Holy Grails” …..the Monorail.👍

  9. OK, Alpine, after seeing it in your SF, I’m really liking on it. If I buy it, it’s gonna be all your fault LOL

    😉

    • Do it!!!! I love tapping on it and seeing the fireworks. This has got to be the best deco yet. Goes with my love of Duff (segewaying, flying at the stadium, partying down everywhere). Would be cool if he could party down at the boat though. I wouldn’t move him at all 🙂

By the way, Wookie, Alissa, Bunny…… I just got a message come up as I am typing that corn was finished at Cletus’ Farm and I am currently growing Triffids. Anyone had that before? Will let you know what happens once I log back in

  10. It’s on my list!. At the moment I’m saving my donuts hoping for a Gil deal to come along. I wish they would do some kind of monthly sale, either on donuts or premium items.

    • I’m with you Lekitty, I’m saving my donuts for a Gil deal. I’m going to buy a couple $50 ITunes/App store gift cards (we are getting 4x fuel points right now on them= 40 cents off a gallon). Then I’ll save them to buy donuts when I’m ready to buy something. I wont buy donuts until I’m ready to spend.

  11. Once again I didn’t hesitate. I bought the hell out of it.

  12. I’ll pass, for now. Too many other premium items I want that come with characters, that aren’t much more.

  13. Can’t pass it up. I’m way too self indulgent. And it will pay for itself, right? I shd have gone to the bank and borrowed the money but…there’s No Bank in Springfield. Who ever heard of a town w/out a bank? Lol

  14. REALLY tempted to buy it, but it does seem like they’ve accidentally priced it too high. As you point out, Knightboat is only 40 Donuts which I thought was very reasonable, and entirely worth it for the cool little sound effect and animation. You’re only getting 0.75% more bonus than Knightboat for 60 extra big ones.

  15. No. It is way too expensive for me right now. Maybe if it came with a character or something. I am having enough trouble just getting the Squidport without losing more room. Plus I never saw this episode, so I have no real deep feelings for it.
