Well I like your advice. I have issues of my own and EA puts me on “ignore” lol. I’ll wait a few more days before contacting them again. Could be I’m doing something wrong.
Hmmm, I will use it for a cultural exchange. In Germany it’s common to give presents to your mom on mother’s day. However, on father’s day it is uncommon to give presents to fathers. Many of them prefer doing a day trip with their male friends, having a handcart with them, filled with boxes of beer, meat and a handy grill. Usually you walk through forrests or to a near lake and have a barbecue there. On the way, they try (and most commonly succeed) to empty the boxes of beer and sing popular songs (even if they are ‘Schlager’ songs, which could probably be compared to the rather disliked country music of the USA). It’s the day where German males probably reach the highest alcohol consumpton of the year. 😉
Also, Father’s day in Germany is connected to Christ Ascend day ~40 days after Easter (which always is a Thursday and a public holiday – I’d love to see a German productivity statistics of the following day 😀 ).
How is it in the US? Are you doing daytrips on that day as well?
Thanks for sharing. That sounds like a good Father’s Day actually. It’s not as big a deal as Mother’s Day here. Basically Mom’s Day is all about spoiling your mom, Dad’s day is a good excuse to get the family together. Also a good excuse for Dad;s to get a new gold club, etc. I might just have to plan a day trip next year to honor my German side.
Forests and lakes. Ahh, Germany! I’ve heard it’s a beautiful place. My ancestors are from Germany and Belgium. Wish I could visit.
I’m sure Schneiper can speak much more on it but I was blessed to live there for 2 months and it was ever so loverly even if I did gain a few pounds from all the amazing food.
