Should I Spend Donuts On the Abandoned Store?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Stonecutters Event has arrived. With all of the new Stonecutter Premium Items that are Limited Time ,it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that Limited Time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Abandoned Store to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this former ice cream shop to YOUR Springfield!

Abandoned Store 1

Building: Abandoned Store
Donut Price: 30 donuts
Dimensions: 5×10
Payout:
$500,45xp Every 24hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Obedience +10

Pros:
-Reasonably priced for a premium building.
-Nice fit with the rest of the Stonecutter Items

Cons:
-No characters have tasks with the building
-No questline associated with it
-No animation associated with it after the Stonecutter Event ends

Final Thought:
Personally, this is a toss up in my opinion.  It’s a reasonably priced premium building, and earns a decent rate daily.  However, it’s not going to get used.  It’ll literally sit there abandoned in your Springfield.  So my advice is if it’s something you really want go for it, but if you’re on the fence wait until the end of the event.  If you’re still wanting it on July 1st, then go for it.  Otherwise something else might catch your eye & be deemed more worthy of your donuts!
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and admittedly this is one I pulled the trigger on (but I am a completest).  Whatever you decide just remember, this is a Limited-time item…so if you’re thinking about it make sure you make your decision prior to the Stonecutter Event leaving our games July 2nd.

What are your thoughts on the Abandoned Store?  Will you be spending the donuts to add it to to YOUR Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. Because the store is “abandoned” I set mine off in a corner of my Springfield and put a bunch of trees and bushes around the front, trying to make it really look overgrown and distended. Haven’t decided yet if it looks abandoned enough, though. May have to keep fiddling with it as I get enough in-game cash to buy more tiles and move some things around.

Since we got 20 donuts for the Stonecutter quest and10 donuts hidden in the table task, I figure we basically got the Abandoned Store for free. I also love the episode, so I wanted to get the store. (The completist in me is happy now too!) 😃

  3. Ugh….thanks….I just posted on other thread also….sorry to be a pest

  4. I bought it but only because I won 100 donuts on a scratcher when I only need 10 to buy the pet store. So I figured I had some extra donuts that I didn’t have plans for snd it was limited time so I might as well. I like the building because it dies go well with the other Stonecutter stuff.
Also thanks for being here. I haven’t been able to log in all afternoon I was worried I was going to have issues but then I came here and found out I am not the only one which makes me feel better.

  5. New level just hit!! However I’m in my tablet and won’t let me log out so I can get to my primary game….what should I do??

  6. Are the servers down?

  7. How do you guys still have room for buildings in your Springfield? My real estate is pretty much maxed out without some drastic redesigns. Any news on if were getting more tiles in the foreseeable future? My boardwalk is still really bare would love to see some buildings or decorations for it and krustyland.

    • Depends on how you group them together. How big of an area you set up for each building and its surroundings. I have room. Getting tight, but still room for my 2D & 3D art plus buildings and fun stuff.

We won’t know til EA releases more.

  8. I’m really on the fence with this, part of me wants it as I’ve got a few ideas on how to use it but part of me thinks ‘why buy it? It just sits there’ the d’nuts can go on someone who you really want like nic or arnie.
Plus I’m hoping that there’s going to be a Gil deal coming soon.

  9. I put my abandoned store right next to my Sprawl-Mart. A little economic humor for my town

  10. I snapped it up immediately! Correct me if I’m wrong but this is the cheapest premium building (with no character) to date in the game?

    • The sounds right, but I’d have to go back through them all to be sure. I know out of all the permanent premium buildings..yes it’s the cheapest. But for all the limited-time ones I’d have to run through everything and check. But I don’t think anything is cheaper….just not sure if another building is tied with it.

    • Don’t know whether you would count 25 donut fortune teller mistake ??????? Already had it though!!!

  11. I think number 1 will have a task there because he is in the town hall census and character finder

    • Hmmm interesting thought…we’ll have to wait and see! 🙂

    • I thought the same thing Fresco. He shows up as “waiting for something to do” in the census now so seems likely he will have a set of tasks after the event ends. Hopefully some cool animated ones too, bit disappointed with all the indoor stonecutter tasks so far, except for Mr Burns in the money pool of course!

  12. Nay. I won’t purchase said building. I could buy houses to make a comparable 24hr gain.

No association with the event, no quests, no extra emblems, No thank you!

  13. I bought cause I had the idea to use it as a “secret” passage (and the only way) to my Stonecutters area. :D. I love it 😀
