The Stonecutters Event has arrived. With all of the new Stonecutter Premium Items that are Limited Time ,it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that Limited Time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Stonecutter #314 to YOUR Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Stonecutter skin to YOUR Springfield!
Character: #314 Stonecutter Frink
Donut Price: 12 donuts
Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Premium character earns more on all cash and xp than a freemium character.
-Inexpensive. 12 donuts is WAY less than you’ll earn for free during this event.
-Completes Stonecutter Collections
Cons:
-Can only unlock (purchase) if you’ve already purchased Professor Frink.
-No outside tasks. While he does earn at a premium Stonecutter rate, none of the tasks are visible.
Final Thought:
Personally, this is a no brainer for me. 12 donuts to complete the Stonecutter Collection, in my mind, was an instant spend. Especially since I already had Frink. If you’re unsure on purchasing Professor Frink, if you don’t already have him, you can check out this Should I Buy guide here.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and this is one I pulled the trigger on. Whatever you decide just remember, this is a Limited-time skin…so if you’re thinking about it make sure you make your decision prior to the Stonecutter Event leaving our games July 2nd.

Number 1: How does it work?
Number 314: It’s a “What if?” device. I simply set it to: “What if the big bang missed?” and everything changes. Until we use it we won’t know exactly what happens. We could be erased from existence or we could look the same but with noses right next to our butts. Which would be…bad, too. Ahoyvin.

If you don’t have professor frink, does the skin stay indefinitely in your inventory untill you buy it? Or you cannot buy the skin if you don’t have the character? Or you can buy the skin and it disappears?
Actually, you can not buy the skin if you dont already have Frink.
You are correct minicha, I tried buying the skin & it wouldn’t let me because I didn’t buy Frink yet. Smooth trick on EA’s part, I ended up buying him so I could get the skin. I am still trying to save up for Barney & the Bowlarama… other purchases have ended up being more time sensitive, though :/

Frink is awesome. With the Stonecutters event (Best episode Ever) I went from a freemium player to a premium player. I just had to have all the Stonecutter stuff. So boatload went the bank account and now I ma loaded up with everything. Bought the Community Center for Jasper, Frink’s Lab for Frink and Stu’s Disco for Disco Stu. And I got all stonecutter happy I never even saw that I paid donuts for Dr. Hibbert’s skin. just read about it here. But now I have lots of extra “cash” for the special stuff I want down the road. I cannot believe that you three write so many articles for this site. It is amazing how much insight and entertainment you bring. Keep up the wonderful work. And maybe get some sleep when you can fit it in.

I am glad we are helpful. We really do enjoy it and get a kick out of giving back to others. We all started out as players just seeking help online and this is what became of it. I love my partners in crime. Wouldn’t trade them for the world. 🙂
Frink’s skin I bought right away, but I am still dithering on Hibbert’s. 60 donuts seems an awful lot for just a skin.

I have so many other priorities. I wish they’d let you buy the skin and save it until you finally buy Frink. It would make it that much more likely that I’d buy him eventually. My next goal is Louanne, followed by Manjula.

I bought his skin as soon as the event opened. It was a no-brainer for me since I already had Frink. Then again, I also had about 300 donuts at the start of this event, so I bought almost all the premium items as soon as the event opened. Only problem now is, if there’s a July 4th event, I need more donuts!
Had to buy him to complete my stonecutter collection, but like you I already had Frink(favorite character), so it was an easy decision for me.
Already having Frink does help make the decision easy 🙂

Just out of curiosity, are there any indications as to whether the Stonecutter’s walls are still going to be available after the event is over, since they are an in-game cash item? I really like them, and want to buy a lot more for later down the line if they are limited. (yes, I’m a hoarder Alissa LOL)
Just as with past events…anything linked to it goes with the event when it ends. I assume these will, but no way of knowing 100% until event end data hits the files and game. I am getting as many as I can now. Those and the slides

Got 314, but held off on Hibbert’s 2 — too expensive in my mind.
Playing for only 6 months. Have been freemium. Got gift of donuts on Father’s day! So first purchase ever was Frink and his building, and then this skin. Love it! And love your site!
