Hey Howdy Hey Stonecutting Tappers!
The incredibly cool thing about the Stonecutter’s Event is not only do you earn prizes by collecting Emblems BUT you also earn more Stonecutter Skins in the Sacred Parchment Prizes. While you can find out more about the Sacred Parchment here, basically what it is is a daily riddle you must solve and send a character on a task. Once you sent so many characters on a task (1, 5, 10, 15, 20 & 24) a new prize will unlock for you. It really adds an AWESOME dynamic to the game!
So once you’ve solved your twentieth Sacred Parchment Puzzle you’ll unlock the 5th free personal prize….#59 (aka Stonecutter Smithers)! #59 is an all new skin for Smithers that come with a whole new set of tasks for Smithers (finally a 1hr task with out Mr. Burns)!
Let’s take a closer look at #59 and just what happens when he enters YOUR Springfield…

After solving your twentieth puzzle #59 will automatically be awarded to you. Once you’ve unlocked him you’ll see this message popup:
If you don’t currently have Smithers in your Springfield, his Stonecutter skin will automatically go into your inventory until you’ve unlocked him and select it. Otherwise, Smithers will automatically become Number 59:

Once you’ve unlocked them you’ll be prompted to start his questlines.

Number 59: Not to every member, just the distinguished ones like Mr. Burns…and you.

Once you’ve completed the one task his questlines will end.
As mentioned above the new skin for Smithers comes with a whole new set of tasks & fun things to make him do. Let’s take a look at these new tasks…

I’m already sad this is almost over. I really enjoyed the parchment tasks.
Any thoughts on what will happen to the sacred parchment after all puzzle tasks are completed? A double secret bonus task? I’m going to miss the daily puzzle and tasks.
Good question. From what I can see it’ll just turn into a decoration, but we’ll know for sure in 2 days! 🙂

Although I am really gonna miss the daily puzzles and they were alot of fun…..I am already using the parchment wall as a decoration. its a secret passage entrance to the stone cutters secret area. Only if you sing the fabled stonecutters song will the passage open up for a stonecutters member…..or better yet…if you are a character in TSTO, then you can apparently walk through walls, over water and through buildings …… 🙂 LOL !!!

My Smithers skin disappeared! I got the robe and started the quest. But the it was gone! Smithers is still in the game and has always been there but the skin is gone. Tried to store and add the Mr Burns house, still nothing. Tried to store the stonecutter stone (port thingy with the scroll quests), still nothing.
Anyone else with this problem?!
Double check two things first….the Parchment Prize list to make sure it’s still highlighted. Then double check to make sure it’s not there anyway. Tap on Smithers and if a toggle appears, where you can move left and right over the character image, the Stonecutter skin should be in there. If there’s no toggle & it’s highlighted in your Prize list your next step is to contact EA. Others have been reporting issues with various skins throughout the course of the event….

Yes he’s highlighted in the prize list but no toggle on Smithers. I will have to contact EA.

Sorry, wish I had a quick fix for it. The skins are tricky because they’re not a physical character.
As others have said, glad to finally have an independent 1-hr task for Smithers (and that they fixed Bernice). No more searching for him (or using the census for the past couple of weeks) every single time.

Yes, I am very glad to have a 1 hour task for Smithers that doesn’t need Mr. Burns to be free. Now if they would give The Rich Texan a 4 hour task… Every character should have a 1 hour, a 4 hour, and an 8 hour task. Simple.
I do love the different skins. I just wish there were a few more ‘outdoors’ activities to go with the Stonecuttters skins. The few we have (mr Burns taking a dip, singing at the table, homer chained up) are amazing tho! But most characters in their robes all hide inside, like Smithers.

Far be it from me to suggest what the writers should be doing but, how about we re-build Shelbyville? I also have a question, what is the significance of the lighthouse flashing GAGI in Morse code? Is that the writer or is the writer using the slang term Gagi to call us stupid. Just checking?
There are so many ideas. I’d rather see a few other things before we start building homes for cousin humpers lol but we never know what EA has in mind for us. As for the lighthouse, I believe it is flashing E-A-R-L.

Anyone else having an inventory problem? Did they change something along the way? Every time I try and store even a fence or a hedge, it tells me I’m a hoarder and won’t let me. This seems weird, especially now that there is the button to put it ALL in inventory. I don’t even have that many things in there!
All temporarily disabled while they fix the nuke option. There were some issues with items disappearing into thin air when they went to inventory. Check out this post to see the details:

How often do they expand the available land in Springfield? I really need some more space for the new buildings :/
Last time they added land was the Halloween update of 2013. Before that it was squidport. Hopefully they’ll be adding more soon! 🙂
Right. Every time I went through doing one hour tasks burns came up before Smithers so Smithers would always be stuck doing a 4,6,12hr task
Ahh, a problem I know too well! I had similar issues with Maude, Bernice and Chester. But I also have a simple solution!
If you store the character or their associated building, then place them back into your Springfield, that character will now appear at the end of your character list. I’ve used this to move Hibbert, Marge and Flanders to be behind Chester, Bernice and Maude respectively. It also works for Mr. Burns. This way, when you cycle through your characters, you can tap quickly without having to worry about messing up your pattern. You’ll still have to watch out for Shauna and Tatum and their dreaded 2hr tasks though 😉
