Should I Buy the Stonecutter Daycare, Fences, and Tube Slide?

The Stonecutters Event has arrived. With all of the new Stonecutter Items that are Limited Time, it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that Limited Time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts in game cash & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should spend your hard earned in game cash on the Limited time Stonecutter items for your Springfield?  Well  let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these items.

Stonecutter Daycare Center

Building: Stonecutter Daycare
In Game Cash Price: $250,000
Dimensions: 8×10
Payout:
$200, 20xp Every 12hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Obedience +10

Pros:
-Average Price for a new building.
-Nice fit with the rest of the Stonecutter Items.
-Animation. Shadows of kids running around and chasing a ball.
-Sound Effects. Sounds of children laughing and playing when tapped.
-Has $$$ & XP earning tasks associated with it.

Premium Stonecutter Run the Stonecutter Daycare 2hrs $190, 40XP
Regular Stonecutter Run the Stonecutter Daycare 2hrs $125, 27XP

Cons:
-Tasks are limited to just Stonecutters.

Final Thought:
Personally, I bought this right away. I love the look of the Daycare and all the play are items outside. It makes it really easy to decorate with. I also like that this is a Special Event item that will continue to get used AFTER the Stonecutter Event is over. The tasks are only 2hrs, so a great time to put a lot of characters on to earn $$ and XP in a short amount of time.  (Those Easter Pastel fences look great around it.)

Tube Slide

Decoration: Tube Slide
In Game Cash Price: $2,500
Dimensions: 3×2
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Unique:
No. Buy as many as you want.

Pros:
-Reasonably priced for a nice colored cool decoration.
-Nice fit with the rest of the Stonecutter Items.
-Many possibilities of locations to place it in your Springfield.

Cons:
-No characters have tasks with the decoration (would be cool to see a kid sliding down it).
-No questline associated with it.
-No animation associated with it.

Final Thought:
Personally, I bought several of these. They look great next to the Daycare, in a park setting, at the school, and in the backyards of the neighborhood. Definitely a different and unique looking item. Great color. Overall just a really cool item to decorate your Springfield with and full of possibilities.

Hieroglyph Wall 3

Building: Hieroglyph Wall
In Game Cash Price: $500
Dimensions: 1×2
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +05
Unique:
No. Buy as many as you want.

Pros:
-Reasonably priced for a cool looking wall.
-Nice fit with the rest of the Stonecutter Items.
-360 turn that allows 4 different looks.

Cons:
-No animation associated with it.

Final Thought:
Personally, I loaded up on these. (Let’s just say about 1000.) I placed several in my town then moved them to my storage. They look really cool and add another great wall for 2D and 3D designs. Perfect to surround just about any building as the color is very basic, so goes with anything.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do.  Whatever you decide just remember, this is a Limited-time item…so if you’re thinking about it make sure you make your decision prior to the Stonecutter Event leaving our games July 2nd.

  1. My wife and I both saved up and bought the daycare early on. We wanted to get that out of the way. I bought about 60 fences and tucked them into storage until I decide how I want my town decorated. My town is a cluster right now and I’m saving up to buy more land. Once I do, I’m planning on nuking it and having my wife decorate for me. She’s better at it than me.

  2. Anyone knows when the event exactly will end? The countdown in the prize dialog has disappeared a few days ago..

  3. I bought the daycare as soon as I was able to save up that much. I have fences going around the temple. I bought 2 extra fences that I stuck around the Elementary school (I have a theme going that due to the lack of funding the school’s fence is made up of whatever random fences I acquire.) I have only bought 1 slide and that went into my elementary school playground, may buy another. My wife is feverishly trying to build up enough cash to score the day care right now. It is going to be close.

  4. So, I stole a couple of ideas from the Stonecutters Showoff post – I put a slide near the money pool set by Burns’ mansion (the money pool was always going to go there, but the slide was inspired by the post), and after seeing the extra tall slide, I just had to figure out how to build one, which I did – it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere right now but that’s okay. This is in addition to the slides in my central park and the daycare center of course. I also bought a few extra fences just in case I decide to expand the daycare center after the event or get/steal another idea. $250K wasn’t cheap at that time (it’s still not, really), but there was no way I was going without that limited time building for in-game cash.

I should really stock up on more walls and slides just in case, especially slides – after all, who doesn’t need an insanely tall slide in their Springfield?!? I’m too lazy to look up the post right now (I think I remember who had the tall slide but I don’t want to be wrong, and I can’t remember who did the slide by the money pool), so I’ll just say that I’m glad there’s an easy, friendly place to find inspiration. 🙂

    • Yay…I’ve converted another “extra tall slide” lover…my work is done here. lol. I want to see how tall you can get one…post picks. 😉

      • Ha! I was right after all! 😉 Mine is pretty tall, but I need more, lol! The pics might take awhile, I only recently figured out how to take screenshots on my phone and I don’t have a flickr or anything like that.

  5. You guys should have a contest for best new Springfield, where people like Level 15 or under can send in a picture of their Springfield, and then pick like the Top 10 or something, and have users vote on them.

    • That is what our Tapper of the Month kinda covers. ANY level can participate and the readers vote. We have seen winners from all sorts of levels.

  6. I wish more of the Stonecutter items were cash items instead of donuts. Those of us who don’t pay real money to buy donuts are kind of left in the dark on these.

    • ALL the items in this post are in game cash only. 😉

The Emblems were pretty great this event to earn LOTS of prizes for freemiums. In the long run, the bills do still need to be paid and it is those few Premiums that keep this game as amazing as it is for us and STILL commercial free (unlike thousands of other Freemium games out there that spam you with commercials)

  7. I did similar with the Easter fences around the daycare. Love that there are so many 2hr tasks associated with it!
I did buy a tube slide for Springfield Elementary playground but might buy a few more and put them in my inventory for down the track. I too surrounded my Lodge with the Hieroglyph walls

  8. i love the idea of a water slide! i’m definitely loading up on slides and wall before the event is over- thanks for the reminder!

  9. It does look pretty nice with the Easter Fences. I’ve wanted a daycare or something like that for a while, so I’m really happy to have one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/43j1gl2diq70wmk/Untitled-2.png

  10. Btw I haven’t been able to visit my neighbors for a few days now (game crashes), so here’s a shout out to you all letting you know I’m not ignoring you.

  11. I bought tons of everything!! BWAHAHHAHAAA!!! I’m a completist animal!!

  12. I put a tube slide next to my Gazebo Pond to add a summertimey water slide to my Springfield. I also put a tube slide outside of my Stonecutter Daycare which is probably what a lot of other people also did so the daycare had a little more of a playground.

  13. I’ll have to try that with the Easter fences around the daycare. Cool idea.
