Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well…the end is near! Tomorrow (July 2nd) the Stonecutter will officially end and Springfield will return to normal once again, where only Big Brother is watching you…not your neighbors! As of right now, we see no signs of this event being extended. In the past, if an event was going to be extended, EA would make an announcement several days before it was initially scheduled to end. As of now, no announcement & no changes to the files. So I think it’s a safe bet to assume Stonecutters will be gone tomorrow. (and hopefully a new event in it’s place!)
So beyond the items what else do you need to know for the end of the Stonecutter Event? Let’s take a look at some of the steps you should know to finish out the event and get ready for some kind of update.
Based on previous events this is what we can expect to happen tomorrow:
-The set end time for the event is 8:00 GMT (4am EST). However, based on past events, the update won’t end at that point. It will take the update to remove it from your game. So you should still be able to play your game for some time tomorrow morning.
-Some kind of update will hit our games tomorrow. This will be an App Store (or Google Play Store) update, where you will need to actually go in and update your game.
–Usually, and again I say this because it’s based on what’s happened in the past, the update will hit sometime between 12PM EST and 2PM EST.
-The update may contain a new level (like what happened after Halloween) or it could just be an update to remove Stonecutters with nothing new in the game (like what happened after Easter). Right now we’re not seeing anything in the files to indicate anything. So we’re all flying blind & at the mercy of EA.
As always if we see anything in the files…we’ll let you know. Usually if something is going to appear in the files before the update hits it’s a 2-4 hr window before it actually hits.
What you can do to get ready if you’re on Level 42:
-Do not send your characters on 24hr tasks. Whatever task you send them on tonight into tomorrow morning make sure they’ll be free after 10AM EST (just to be on the safe side).
-Ignore all of the random quests the game will try to send you on between today and tomorrow, unless they’re short quests. Just because they’re telling you to Send Bart and Milhouse for a 24hr Sleepover doesn’t mean you have to. So hold off on those quests until you know what’s going to happen tomorrow. (you’ll know it’s a random quest because there won’t be dialog popup with the task request)
-Check your App Store tomorrow, again this will be an App Store update. So you will need to download and update TSTO for it to work.
Finishing Out Stonecutters:
-If you haven’t yet cleared all of the prizes…keep trying. You still have time. Also, just because an update is here doesn’t mean you have to update your game. Because this will be an App Store update, if you haven’t yet cleared your prizes you don’t have to update your game. You can keep playing in Stonecutters and earn more Emblems (usually 2-3 days after the update hits, although in the recent past they’ve forced Tappers to update hours after the update hit the App Store). Just keep in mind if your neighbors have updated it makes it that much more difficult to earn Emblems, since you won’t be able to tap their buildings.
-If you’ve finished the event…STILL HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS! Tap on buildings, visit them and CLEAR YOUR TOWN! This is the best way to ensure your neighbors can earn all that they can before time runs out!
-If you’re contemplating just buying out the rest of the prizes here’s Bunny’s guide to donut cost on the prizes.
-Be sure to try and complete the last of your Parchment Prizes. The option to complete them later may still be around after the event, but do you want to take that chance?
-Make sure you purchase all of those limited-time items before they’re gone, if you want them. They won’t be here late tomorrow for you to make a decision on. If you’ve already purchased the Stonecutter items, they’re yours forever and will remain in your Springfield (or storage) unless you sell them or delete your game (via origin ID…not uninstalling from your phone). This also applies to items won in the boxes. If you’ve won them, they’re yours.
So just what are the limited time Stonecutter items? Well here’s a complete list of everything that you will no longer be able to purchase (with think) after July 2nd:
Non-Premium:
– Hieroglyph Wall– $500
Tube Slide– $2,500
Stonecutter’s Daycare- $250,000
Premium:
–All Seeing Eye– 100 donuts
–Chest of Sacred Artifacts 55 donuts
–Abandonded Store- 30 Donuts

Confused about what you should purchase before it’s gone? Well here’s my advice. If you have the in game cash buy everything, you can add a few of each (you can also store them). I’m not saying run out and spend all of your game cash on the few Stonecutters decorations, but be sure you buy them before they’re gone. Trust me you’ll regret it in a few months if you didn’t purchase them. Plus, it’s part of your “battle scars” for playing TSTO. So next summer when new Tappers are coming into the game they’ll covet those buildings and tube slides! (You can check out Bunny’s guide on buying the non-premium items here)

Do you have the option set to ON to auto update apps on your device? Also, once the event is over…you are on borrowed time. We never know when EA will force it. Sorry.
I’m sitting at 29140 with my next prize at 31500 for the table. I’m on pace to get all 4 no. 1 tasks and I still have my neighbor visits coming up today. Do I have a chance for the table?

My device got updated and event is gone. No.1 remains as playable character, with non-premium rates of tasks. Normal tasks as other stonecutters (Quick drink, Run daycare, Attend a secret meeting, Nap, Feast)
Yup… pretty cool even if they’re all indoor tasks.
I’d have to say this was one of the most fun events since I started playing last summer. As for purchases, well, my rule is “Only Buy for ‘A’ game”. My B and C games stay ‘freemium’. But I did buy Number 51 and the eye pyramid this time around. But the other things I did during the event was to fill in some of my other missing characters, including Frink and Ernie Pyle. (Their unworn Stonecutter robes kept mocking me. 😉 )
As JC said, I’d like to chime in, too: Thanks Bunny (and all the crew) for having such an incredibly helpful TSTO site. Because of you, I always knew what to do and when — and was able to avoid making mistakes, like sending certain characters out for long tasks when they had an upcoming Parchment task.
We’re glad we can help folks out and still flattered to this day that people care what we have to say.
Still getting stonecutter emblems but no way can I get the last one unless I spend over 300 donuts gutted! but I have enjoyed this event 🙂
I loved the event. It reminded me of my younger days when I was a huge Simpsons fan. (Futurama is still #1 to me) I started my first playthrough a few days before the Stonecutter event began. It was as if they heard I was playing so they did one of my favorite episodes. All in all, I think it helped me get through levels quicker. I am ging to hold off on updating until I can get herman and do the last parchment task. Should only take a couple more days. Thanks for the helpful website.

Has anyone noticed not getting emblem credit towards the secret bonus for some of your emblems? I am at 50658 total emblems but my secret bonus emblem count is at 1575. It should be 1658. I noticed this just a couple days ago but it was only like 30 emblems then so I didn’t bother to say anything. Now with the event ending I want to make it count.
We did see a few reports of it. It happened with past events too.

This was only the second real event that I participated in, and it was an absolute blast! I love the Stonecutter theme and the new skins and decorations they added for it. I even threw some real money at the game to show my support.
For those of you that are new to the game, being sociable with your neighbors is really a key to getting the most out of these events, so make sure to get some good neighbors and visit them frequently.

So, this is a fun one. I am a couple of hundred emblems short of the secret bonus (10th one!) and I am visiting neighbors.
Some of them must have updated, because they freeze my game when I try to visit them!

Yes, we get to keep him with a few tasks.
Something glitchy is going on on my end (9pm Tues here).
Was in the game and half of it was covered by black/black squares.
Reloaded and then it was just a black screen with the donut spinning around.
Hoping to get back into it tonight as I’m about 90 emblems away from the super secret donuts and desperate to get them before the update!
New update hit the servers for 4th of July. So that may have been causing you glitches.
This was a great event as good if not better than whacking day and christmas
Loved Stonecutters…. However, the parchment final unlock was disappointing…(but the doughnuts received for advancing throughout “the game of stones”), were ALL I COULD ASK FOR! I am looking forward to what’s next….just finished collecting 3000 final emblems before this update, (and 3 more doughnuts). Awaiting the update :+)
I figure I’ll stick it out until an update is forced to help many of my friends who seem to still be behind. The thing that gets me is a handful of friends that were diligent with their towns have dropped off the face of the earth since this event began. Worst case scenario I have to assume they died.
This has been a great event and I’m glad of the extra buffer time as I’m on the verge of another 3000 emblem bonus. I would have just earned it but for something I’ve been wondering about and just confirmed – the game’s tasks can take longer than stated. Here’s what happened:
Today #1 gave me a 6, 6, 2 and 6 hour task pattern. I started the last 6 hour task, quit the game, and my phone clock said 5:57pm. I set an alarm because I’ve missed out on the final 400 emblems before, by just minutes. Close to midnight I sat on the task, waiting for it to finish. The moment it finished, I clicked, was transported to #1 – and not awarded 400 emblems, but only 150. I quit and according to my phone is it was after 12:00. The 6 hour task took 6 hours plus 3+ minutes. I just missed collecting a final emblem bonus twice before and wondered how I had miscalculated. This time I know I didn’t.
I then repeated this again with the next task, 2 hours. I started the task, set a timer for 2 hours, and had the game running off and on most of the 2 hours. The timer went off and the task still had 1 minute, 17 seconds before it finished. I haven’t tested it with a non #1 task yet.
My game freezes every 5 minutes or so for about 8 seconds as if it’s about to crash, then resumes. I think these freezes while the game is open are adding up to the lost time of task completion, but I’m no programmer.
Has anyone else noticed this?
It depends on when YOU hit the reset clock. The files say 8GMT, but my game rolled at midnight my time. It is better to try and get them done before the cutoff time if possible. You never know when the game will roll.
As for the freezing. Two updates hit the servers with all the new content and removal waiting to launch for Stonecutters so it impacted games.
My understanding, all through the event, was that #1’s tasks reset at midnight local. That happened day after day. Always at midnight. I would be all done with my four tasks and wait in the game at 11:59, then click on #1 at midnight, and task 1 would be offered. But that’s not actually what I’m talking about. A 6 hour task took 6 hours and 3 minutes. A 2 hour task took 2 hours, 1 minute and 15 seconds. When the timing really mattered (getting 20 hours of tasks accomplished in 24 hours) those few minutes tacked on by a faulty counter in the game had an impact.
The freezing issue isn’t just today. It’s the last 3-4 months. It’s better than the constant crashing. But it’s steady consistent behavior, every 5 minutes or so for 8 seconds. It was a little improved after the rollout of level 41, then came back. I’ve reloaded the game a couple of times in the last several months for various reason but this hang time persists.
This was easily the best event so far, time a zillion.
My best suggestion on items like the constant issues is to let EA know. Only way to make them aware and see if it can be fixed. It may be your device itself not being able to relay the game well. (My android had issues from January til Stonecutters due to Kit Kat and my device being able to decipher the game.)
The Number 1 tasks were set in the files to run 8GMT to 8GMT but players saw them reset their time midnight. So it never followed what we saw in the files. Hard to predict all the timing issues as a result of it.
Very good events… Unlike the previous one which I can’t even remember the name of the event…
It’s 18:45 AEST (Australia) which is 45 minutes after the nominal 08:00 GMT and I’m still collecting. I got the final 400 emblems for todays Number 1’s task at 11 minutes after the nominal time and I finally collected Satan’s Anvil. Phew. Talk about stressing for those last few minutes,
No idea when the game will update but as I got my final Stonecutter reward, I’m a very, very happy tapper.
Update is in the servers. It is just a countdown now as to when it will go into effect.

I was 800 emblems shy of 35000, bought satan’s anvil for 85 donuts on the last hour. Phew!
ive been all out of land for months now.. when i buy/ get new buildings i have to store them bc i cant buy any more land… when will i be able to buy more?

I’m hoping whatever they have planned for 4th July lands today too. I just can’t get enough of this game again. I have definitely classed myself as an addict again after this event!!

Not sure if anyone responded to my last post but I haven’t been able to collect emblems off neighbors for the last 3 day has this happened to anyone else
Not even the 60 you are limited to a day? Are you watching your counter to make sure you are not wasting those 60 taps on just regular money? If you do, you can’t get Emblems. Got to use the first 60 on them only. Just tap on the ? by your emblem count while you are in your neighbors and it will tell you where you are. If you have any of the 60 taps left in the 24hr period.
nope its been on 0 friend actions for the next 0 actions, its been that way for days and im missing out on so many emblems beacuse of it 🙁
Strange. It is an issue that only EA would have been able to look in to. You can still try to contact them, but the event is over and removed now.
