Random Questlines With the 4th of July Update

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

By now everyone should be into the thick of things with the 4th of July Update, are you enjoying the content/dialogue so far?  What are your thoughts on the new, expensive…but FREEMIUM, items added to the game?

The Sit-N-Rotate and the Lincoln Memorial are two new items added to TSTO with hefty price tags.  The Lincoln Memorial is a limited-time decoration that will set you back a cool 100k, while the Sit-N-Rotate is a new, permanent, aspirational building that will run you 10 million.

So what are the details behind these items?  Are they worth your Simpson Cash?  Do they do anything?  Let’s take a closer look and examine all the details behind these two new freemium items to TSTO….WARNING: Dialogue spoilers ahead.

sitnrotate_menu

Building: Sit-N-Rotate
Cost: $10,000,000
Size:  9×9
Build Time: 3 days
Conform-O-Meter: Gluttony +10
Animation: Top rotates
Characters Use: Yes.  This will unlock a new 2hr task for Principal Skinner & Selma…

Task Time Earns
Dine at the Revolving Restaurant 2hrs $110,27xp

Questline: Yes.  Short, but funny, questline involving Principal Skinner and Selma.
WARNING: Dialogue spoilers ahead.

Bring on the Revolution!
Skinner starts

Skinner: Patty, I know things didn’t work out on our last date, but I wonder if you’d be interested in giving it another shot?
Selma: That date was twenty years ago.  Also I’m Selma, not Patty.
Skinner: The straight one?  Even better!
Selma: Back off, bub.  In case you haven’t noticed, in this new Springfield single women are a hot commodity.
Skinner: And rightfully so!  That’s why I want to take you out to the hottest new spot in town.  You might even call it revolutionary!
Make Skinner and Selma Dine at the Revolving Restaurant– 4hrs, Earns $350, 90xp.  Note: This time it’s a joint task, which is why the payout is higher & time longer.  Once completed they each will have a task in their task list and the pay out will be as indicated above.  As will the time.
Skinner: So what did you think?
Selma: The food was okay.  But the prices were ridiculous.
Skinner: Well, that restaurant DID cost ten million to build.
Selma: Whatever.  You paid, so I don’t care.

Worth Buying: In my opinion, yes.  I like this better than some of the other Aspirational Items in the game.  And while it won’t earn you any income, at least two characters can use it, unlike the Magnifying Glass or Escalator to Nowhere.  This is one I will be adding to my game, eventually.  The nice thing is it’s not limited-time so there is no rush.  You can save up your hard earned cash for this one and get it down the line, when you’re ready.

Decoration: Lincoln Memorial
Cost: $100,000
Size:  3×3
Build Time: Instant
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +870
Animation: No, it’s a stone statue.  It just sits there and looks pretty.
Characters Use: No.
Questline:  Yes, but only if Lincoln is in your game.  A funny little dialogue exchange goes on between Lisa and Lincoln….

Lincoln on Lincoln
Lincoln Starts

Lincoln:  Okay, that is literally the LAST design I would have approved for a Lincoln Memorial.  What garbage!
Lisa: No, it’s nice!  You look regal.
Lincoln:  Exactly!  I’m sitting on a throne!  Correct me if I’m wrong, but I sorta thought the POINT of America was “no more guys on thrones.”
Lisa: Uh… but this is OUR throne.  So make that makes it okay?
Lincoln: Oh, and thanks for the MASSIVE GREEK TEMPLE.  If there’s one thing I was ALL ABOUT, it was huge, loud, in-your-face Greek stuff.  The whole “log cabin” thing?  Yeah, total smokescreen.  Glad you picked up on that.  I was secretly into stone monstrosities the whole time.  This is EXACTLY how I want to be remembered — as a higher-than-thou-know-it-all who insisted that every word he utter be ETCHED IN STONE FOR ALL TIME.  Well done!!!
Lisa: Uh… hey look!  Some rails that need splitting.
Make Abraham Lincoln Split Rails– 8hrs, Earns $420, 105xp

Worth Buying: In my opinion, yes.  Personally, I like the memorial and i’m glad to have it in my town.  Now the design options are going to be where it becomes tricky.  This might be something you’ll want to purchase now, because it is limited-time, and store in your inventory until you can find the perfect place for it.
Again, keep in mind this IS Limited-Time so be sure to make your purchase before July 16th when the items leave our games!

What do YOU think of the two new high priced freemium items?  Did you purchase either of them?  Where have you placed them in your your Springfield? Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. Has the sit n rotate been removed from the game? I cannot seem to find it in any of the categories? Thanks

  2. A month after this update, I have passed the $10,000,000. In July, I had been all set to finish the aspirational items and get the Magnifying Glass when it hit, but the Sit and Rotate was just too good to pass on. So I have just started the 3 day build so that I can read a few short dialog lines and have a very unique item. (I don’t think I have seen one in any of my friends)
It was a bit depressing to watch my balance drop to a mere $82,000 after the purchase. (Anyone reading this who is thinking “A MERE $82K!”, just stay with the game and there will be a time when that seems like nothing.) Fortunately with 100 friends, 90+ characters and approximately double the payback from bonuses, that number won’t stay low for long.

    • I’m in the same boat with the sit n rotate. Passed on everything else, but that’s too good to pass up. Haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but I will soon 🙂

  3. Oops, double post. I forgot to log in and when I did, my post went poof. So I thought it didn’t go through. Feel free to delete. My bad.

  4. I grabbed up all the cash items, well minus the Sit-n-Rotate, i r too broke fo dat! LOL. I placed Lincoln with my city hall. It gave me an excuse to pretty-fy it. Before, I just had my city hall shoved randomly in a corner. Now it looks like a proper city building.

Since I just bought the memorial, will the dialogue between Lisa & Lincoln still start once I have Lincoln?

  6. Louis Trapani

I grabbed the Lincoln Memorial statue right away as soon as it was available and it has been proudly on display in my Springfield since. I was in the middle of building up funds to buy the Itchy & Scratchy Studio, still am. So it did set me back a little on that goal. Sit-N-Rotate will have to wait some time though. It already seems to be taking forever to get the cash to buy the Itchy & Scratchy Studio and that is “only” $800k… at $10 million, it’s going to be awhile before I see Sit-N-Rotate in my town (thankfully, it is not a limited time thing).

  7. I’m not getting anywhere. Game kept crashing at loading screen so I uninstalled and reinstalled and that fixed it…but it would crash after 1-2mins of play, which was annoying but could at least set them up for tasks. I did log it with EA….but now this morning the game won’t even let me get to the screen to log in before it crashes out 🙁
Have never had a buggy update like this on my end before so it is quite frustrating

    • Keep up with EA. Best of luck getting in soon.

      • I’m glad it’s not just me experiencing the frequent crashes out of the app since the Stonecutters removal. Addicts guys, are many others reporting this? I’m on Android but no idea if it’s platform specific.

        • I am not sure, but I am seeing it as another Android type issue. I think Kit Kat just really does not like TSTO. They are trying to resolve it. My best suggestion is same as usual. Continually report the issues to EA so they know just how many are impacted and having issue with their games.

      • Josephine Kick@$$

Don’t worry Floozy, I’ll still be here when it gets fixed 🙂

  8. O MY GOODNESS, yes! I can hardly wait for July 11 so I can purchase Lincoln! I’ve had to pass it up twice and feel so grateful it is being offered again. THANKS for all the hours it must take to keep us informed. I have NEVER been so addicted to a game AND I am spending real money! I probably should just buy the $100 boatload!

    • Lol. You are more than welcome. We are happy to help out. 😉

Boatloads are the best for the money. Especially if you can also get the app cards at a discount. Like right now you can save about 6$ on itunes cards at Costco in the U.S.

Funny you mentioned finding an appropriate place for the memorial, I’ve been trying to move things around so I can do that. I can’t believe I didn’t think of just buying it & storing it for now! I started playing after Abe was available last year, so I am waiting to get him & the cabin. Thanks, I was sweating that one LOL

Oh, Love the S&S, I just got enough for it, but I’m too paranoid to use almost all my money on it yet. I’ll wait until I build up a little more of a buffer 🙂

  10. Wait, why I don´t see the lincoln memorial? 🙁

  11. Bought both Lincoln looks so melancholy love it and a big spinning building a no brained.

  12. I was excited that the sit’n’rotate had finally entered our games. I was like “YES!!! Million dollars! I have that!” Tried to buy it but said I was too poor 🙁 I counted the zeros. I became sad. I should have enough moneys some time this month then I’ll be happy agian. 🙂

  13. I want to get the sit-n-rotate at some point but 10,000,000 will also get me a lot of blood mobiles which means extra donuts 🙂
I do still love the animation for the escalator though so I don’t think it will be my favourite aspirational item just yet

  14. I have a glitch to report about the nuke option in Krustyland, not sure where to post it. First off, it stores all solo characters in the area. Second, any deco or booth that u can have doubles of, the not enough tickets warning appears when you place it, but you still can put it down. Finally, the ring toss, which I had 4 of, on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th I lost 35 tickets along with the warning. Just something I thought I should share. (I have a picture too, not sure where/how to upload it.
Thanks for reading, just wanted to warn about the nuke in Krustyland

  15. Well, I bought “Honest Abe” the second that he came available in the game and so it was a no-brainer to get the Lincoln Memorial asap as well. That spinning tower is a goal item thanks to its hefty 10 Million price tag! One thing I will say is this, as an American living abroad, I was laughing so much with the commentary for this little July 4th event. This is one “Frenchified” American girl who would love to give the EA-TSTO writers a big *french* kiss! …and as always, thanks to the Addicts crew for doing most of the work so that we don’t have too! “Gros bisous” to you too!

  16. I will save for the restaurant for sure…I love the height and the fact that it rotates all the time. But here I am beyond level 42, built Itchy & Scratchy Studios and STILL can’t trigger the darn hospital.

    • Ugh that hospital gives so many players issues! Have you gotten the Business is picking up task to trigger yet? That task triggers the hospital task. And Business is picking up is triggered by FlavorMax. If you have then it may be time to contact EA and see if they can help you get it to trigger.

      • The one thing that I can say about the hospital is…

DO NOT buy the Unfinished Shed with Chester UNTIL the hospital is built.

I am pretty sure that is where mine got stuck before. When contacting EA, the only option they gave me was a roll-back to before the Flavormax task started.
(Mine never prompted the “Business is Picking Up” part, even a month after finishing the Flavormax task.)

There should be warnings (from EA) to people to not buy certain things before other questlines finish. I will forever rue the hospital for this reason alone.

        Good luck and good tapping!
