It’s Yard Sale time in Springfield & what’s old is once new again! But, with that limited-time label, and the added pressure of these being some highly coveted items, it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.
So far we’ve broken down the pros and cons of the Mayan Bundles and the pros and cons of the skins/costumes, so now let’s take a look at the final skin in of the 2014 Summer Yard Sale.
Wondering if you should add the Cool Brown House (and Cool Homer) to your Springfield ? Well before you hit that confirm spend button, let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this cool combo to your town…..

Pros:
-Another skin for Homer with some fun/silly outdoor tasks
-Costume turns a freemium character into a premium character, with premium payouts (50% more cash and xp on all tasks)
-One of the most coveted items for a lot of Tappers. Originally from an episode tie-in back in November of 2012.
-Cool Homer has a TON of fun outdoor tasks (including showing off his fixie, which is one of my favorites!)
-Cool Brown House has an awesome unique design and will add some fun to your Springfield.
-Short questline included with it
Cons:
-Was originally free when initially released
-Many costumes, that were free, already turn Homer into a premium earner (like Mr. Plow)
-Cool Brown House pays the same rate as the regular Brown House.
Final Thought:
This is one I’ve had in my town since it was released and I LOVE IT. This has got to me my favorite item offered up in the Yard Sale (for many of you too)! Homer is often “cool” in my Springfield & I’m thrilled it now earns premium rates. The Cool Brown House is also one of my favorite houses in Springfield. It’s currently on my shoreline…and fits in great there.
I know 120 donuts is a high price to pay for a house/skin combo (especially one that was once free), but I definitely think this one is well worth it (and I know many of you agree)!
Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME combo and once it’s gone, its’s gone…so be sure to get it before August 4th if you’re thinking about making that purchase!

This is worth it if only for Cool Homer’s task of “Show Off his Fixie” (bike). That’s fantastic. I think many people playing the game only without visiting cool sites such as tstoaddicts.com may miss out on this one thinking it’s a house only. Not knowing that a Cool Homer skin comes with it. That’s a shame. Perhaps EA wanted people to be surprised who purchased it so they didn’t include the skin in the description for the house? I don’t know. It makes me appreciate tstoaddicts.com even more so as I may had missed out getting this if it weren’t for article posts like this one.
Wait a minute… Maybe they did include a picture of the Cool Homer skin with the house on second thought. I can’t recall now. Well what I said above is still true for the melted Ice God item in the Yard Sale. The game gives no clue what it looks like un-melted. I’m sure many will pass on it not knowing what it looks like when there is snow in Springfield.
I don’t think he was shown. As for the ice god, I wouldn’t blame anyone for passing on it even with snow.
Yeah, I think I was confusing it with the Ice God. If I didn’t know about from this site, I doubt I would be able to figure out what it was from the melted version of it (just the foot).

Freemium no more. I only started playing this February, and I HAD to have this, as I’ve lusted for it since the moment I saw it in someone else’s town. And I LOVE Cool Homer! Now: NO MORE SPENDING MONEY ON DONUTS!

I grabbed it, finally. I’m not quite a completionist enough to buy the Mayan set (300 donuts? Too rich for my blood…), but I’ve often lusted after the Cool Brown House after seeing it in other people’s Springfields.
And since my usual purchase is the $20US 300 donuts, that gave me enough to buy the new Krustyland ‘One Plate Buffet’ restaurant…and a decent cushion of donuts left over for future offerings.
Cool Brown house is one I know a lot of people would have trouble passing up. Glad you were finally able to get it & sang some other fun things in the process 🙂
I want that cool brown house sooo bad, but I would have to actually pay real $$ for it so, sadly, it will not be purchased. I just put my Christmas gift iTunes card on my account and I’m going to use it for music, not a game. (though I have bought donuts before, just not with a gift card). At least now I know how people got it. Hopefully it’ll come back when I have enough free donuts. it would be worth it to me even if it wiped my stash out. Cool Homer would be a bonus.

I have also coveted the Cool Brown House in my neighbours’s towns and I will get it if I can get 21 more donuts from visiting my neighbours before August 4th. If I don’t get the 21 donuts by then, I will just get Willie’s skin and the Mr. Sparkle billboard. Which option sounds better?
I like the house for decoration purposes and it comes with Cool Homer skin. That’s my opinion anyway. 😉
(Though, Willie one finger push ups and washboard abs washing is amusing too.)
If I can get to 120 donuts by then, I’ll snatch it up. Ha, ya that would be funny having a noticeably jacked Willie roaming around my town and washing clothes on his abs. Either way, I’ll add something cool to my town (pun intended) 🙂

LOVE the Cool Brown House and Cool Homer! I never thought it was going to come back and I made my peace with that. And now it’s in my town. Yay! The Mayan Bundle is still my favourite thing from this garage sale. I LOVE the Mayan GOD!

Been on the fence about this one since the yard sale started. Definitely something I have always envied in other players towns! The price though…I only have 150-ish donuts. Debated between Frink, Mel, and the rocket car, and sooo many ideas of saving up for Barney and Duffman! And only a brown house payoff, but I don’t care about the pay as much.
Then again…limited time. Beach house capabilites. Episode tie-in item….The pressure! lol

Hola! I had saved 226 donuts since post Christmas. Heck yea I pulled the dt for the CBH! Love that Christmas light idea! Must.Have.Springfield.Falls! Fingers crossed!
Free stuff that returns as expensive premium kind of pisses me off a bit. I know that you have to work hard to get some of them during the different events, but especially the sight of the Motel always stabs me in the side. I had not start playing when Cool Homer was available, but I was playing when Wacking day was introduced. I think it was my first event. I tried to get as much stuff as possible but at this time I, as an android user, could not add friends. Of course I missed out on a lot of the good stuff because EA didn’t have a working platform. After my US roadtrip a year ago I would love to have the motel (who knew every motel looks exactly the same!? I thought it was a joke at first, but as the travelled on I realised they actually all do look the same. Even did my own My name is Earl picture! And by coincidence the Simpsons version follow the same blue-print. (As a side-note: I was very intrigued that all the houses in the suburbs also looked like the houses in Tapped Out. Wow, there is the Blue House! And there is the Purple House! And so on, and so on…))
So, I am not getting the Motel (not yet at least, I wasn’t exactly sober when I hit Buy on the Sit-N-Rotate). But since this post I am considering Cool Homer (love that episode, saw it on the plane over btw).

Hola Dof! I know how you feel! I finally went from freemium to cheapium just after Christmas. Only have a few regrets as I just passed my 1 year anniversary lol! DO IT! If you go cheapium like I did, you can always get the non limited stuff later!
Got it in 2012 and I love it. My favorite house design by far. Just wish it had Christmas lights. Xmas of 2012 didn’t bring any and last Xmas I thought they would add some but still nothing. Hopefully this year they do now that more people will likely have it.

I wish. THAT would be cool, but no. There is a set building for each one.
I want that COOL looking house so bad! Problem is, I really don’t want to spend donuts on another costume for Homer and 120 donuts is like 1/2 a year of saving for a freemium player lol. I am still on the fence for this one. There are better things I could use those donuts on like a building that comes with a new character and not just a costume, (I want Duffman and Barney) but the Cool Brown House may never come back again. I will wait to see if there is a new level update with something spectacular that cost donuts this week, then it’s really time to decide.
Smart move. Plenty of time to make a decision on these…no sense in rushing out right away to get something just because it’s there. Smart play is to wait until the end and go from there 🙂
