Anyway enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? No it’s not time Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Princess Penelope back to the enchanted forest! Nope it’s time for another Sunday Night Open Thread! (this is very quickly becoming our favorite time of the week by the way! You guys have some AWESOME things to say!)
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

I know it’s probably too much to hope for, but on the morning of the cross over I’d love to wake up and have Homer/Peter, Marge/Lois, Bart/Chris, Lisa/Meg, Maggie/Stewie, Brian/Santa’s Little Helper swapped out in both games.

Is anyone else having this issue? I open the game, and it starts to load. The it shows Bart, with him holding the unplugged modem.Then I hit retry, and it lets me in. It is more of an annoyance, than it is a problem. Because right after I hit retry it lets me in! Haha I am just wondering. I thought it would have been fixed with the new update but it still stayed the same.
There’s a bunch of us that have had this little annoyance for a couple weeks. Hopefully it is fixed soon but always good news that we can still get in.

It happens to me every time, I’ve gotten used to it, but it would be nice if they fixed it. Just happy I’m not locked out.
Last night I opened my every 5th day mystery box, and received the Squeeky Voiced Teen. This was a huge surprise as all I had ever gotten were fences and hedges and the like. Just another awesome thing about this game! =)

I just don’t know how I feel about the Simpsons Family Guy mash-up, like a Street Fighter v. Mortal Kombat crossover. Whatevs, it’ll be alright. Do think (or know_, o’ TSTO bloggers, if the giant September update will have anything to do with the Family Guy crossover?
My educated guess is the episode tie-in will be for the season premiere. I doubt we’ll see crossover between the two shows in-game because of the separate games they have operated by different companies but stranger things have happened. I’m hopng this mash-up is a good one and based on the 5 minutes I’ve seen, so far so good. of course, FG could do anything in the other 17 minutes lol.
Yea, I’d doubt there would be an in-game crossover. There was no Lego tie-in from that epiesode either.

I actually have a post with this info and a little more in drafts for some time this week… great minds and such. Have to admit, this may be the first time I’m actually excited for a FG episode.
Not even the Star Wars FG episodes? Granted even of those, the best was the first one.
Ya know, I actually accidentally caught the first Star Wars one after watching a Simpsons episode. All in all, I liked them. For the second and third, I lived overseas so I caught them later. My ex gave me the set once upon a time so I have watched them several times.

Wook, don’t know if you’re a fan of P&F, but I loved it. (P&F is my personal addiction) Maybe I can figure out a way to send you a copy of the episode. Will probably be about 3gb when I get done editing out the commercials and such.
I actually really dig P&F. I think it’s even cooler that Bowling For Soup did their theme song. One of those shows I watch with the kids and like a ton. There’s a reason it’s like the top kids show on TV. I’d love to watch it but don’t work too hard at it. I haven’t checked online to see if I can find it.
Wook, I have a personal media server that I’ve been setting up at home over the past year. It has every episode of P&F that I record from TV as well as Kung Fu Panda, The Fairly Oddparents, NCIS, Longmire, a half dozen other TV shows, a quarter ton of movies and just about any video file that I can think of to serve up on it.
I just don’t know how to get a copy of the file to you, as I think Gmail and such still have a ridiculous 75mb limit on file attachments.
So, if you have any ideas in that direction, let me know and I’ll definitely get you a copy to watch. 🙂
I really appreciate it. Have to admit I have many shows saved as well but never went the media file direction. Still trying to convince my Mom she’s seen most of the Dr. Who episodes eating up the DVR space lol. Hate to put you through all thw rok for just one episode. I love the way it looks but if donuts are tight there are toher items that give a bonus. I know I’d be bummed if I didn’t have one since it’s my favorite billboard they’ve released.

Howdy hey there, Tappereenos.
I bought yet another boatload of sprinklies. Finished buying all the LTO stuff, plus Mt Carlmore, Krustylu Studios, Open Air stage, and a few other premiums. I currently have 800 donuts, but I know some of them will go poof when I buy some of the other KL premium items.
Still trying to get caught up on level tasks before I nuke and redesign my Springfield. Recently started building the Ah Fudge Factory, so I’ve gotten a lot closer.
How’s everyone else doing?
I thought of you during this past week when I had to get some donuts for the Yard Sale. I still haven’t done the boatload yet, but you get more value for your $ that way. Made me think I should had gone that route instead. It’s amazing how fast they do go “poof” though. Even holding back on certain items, they still go so quickly. The limited time items are now an especial weakness because I missed out on other limited time items when I first started playing before I got so engulfed in the game.
I hear ya, Louis. I’m on my 4th boatload. It’s crazy how much money I’ve sunk into this game, but I’m enjoying it nonetheless.
That’s all that matters in the end.
To explode my springfield or not to explode my springfield that is the question…. anyone do this glitch free yet. As much as id love a clean slate to redo roadways and to expand my woodsy area.. now that im the proud owner …. braggy brag lol….of all the land in springfield im just terrified at the thought of a total wipout. And since all my peeps on tasks are in krustyland now may just be the perfect time …. help lol
Yes it is 99.9% glitch free the first time I did it I had to re purchase Bart and the treehouse… No quests we’re reset or anything just had to spend some ig cash for it… But it only happened once as I have nuked my town several (10) times since the second release
Just remember that all your people in KL tasks will be stored, the tasks will basically be cancelled, and you won’t get any KL tickets from the progress they’ve made if you nuke while they are there.

But if you nuke Springfield with characters doing tasks in KL then the buildings with characters attached to them will not complete the task.. My suggestion would be to nuke the town place the characters needed for krustyland quests and after starting the quest move those building as needed so the can do the tasks and you can decorate/design your town… It’s what I had to do… And I’m trying to get all of the land what the most you end up having to pay for one plot of land
Good thought… I had a moment not thinking about all my characters getting stored as I’m just too scared to do it now I think esp after reading some post. … And the most exp is 114000 I thought it’d be higher actually now that I have it all I want more tho….. Insert evil burns laugh here…..
Ive been noticing lately that every time I log in to my game I get the Bart screen but I hit retry once and I am able to get in to my game. Its been happening every time for a couple weeks now on my phone and tablet. Its not really a problem just something odd that Ive been noticing and wondering if any one else is experiencing this as well.
Definitely a bunch of us experiencing the same thing. Been consistent for a couple weeks. Annoying but at least I get in every time.
Yup, this happens to me too. Every time I log into in says can’t connect to server but then I click retry and it works fine. It has become like a normal everyday thing now that I have to click retry first.
So here I am tonight reflecting on the meaning of life, watching YouTube videos and wondering if there is a hidden message floating around in my alphabet soup. Then suddenly, like a stiff breeze, it occures to me…..I’m not really qualified to answer any of these questions anyway. Where is my can of Duff?
Pretty sure all the world’s answers are somewhere in alphabet soup… that and Deep Thought. Makes me think of a great meme I saw with Homer. “Alcohol is never the answer but it can make you forget the question.”
I have kind of a random question. So I am sending all my characters to do 1 hour tasks, when I come to Apu I see that his 1 hour task (Feed the Octuplets) is locked and the little “reason for being locked” that it gives just says “job”. It has never done that before, I used to send him to do that task all the time. Luckily I have All American Apu who has the 1 hour task I need. I am wondering if this is a glitch or something new?
Any chance that Manjula is walking the octuplets?
Ohhhhhhh! *lightbulb goes off in my head… That makes a lot of sense, yes she was doing that. They can’t both be walking the octuplets. I think Apu would go even crazier with 16 little ones running around 🙂

I seem to have hit the maximum number of squidport tiles. It’s not letting me purchase any more. I have my squidport layer out in a rectangle that’s 22 x 7 tiles. Less the 3 that are included in the entrance that makes the max 151 tiles.
Yeah, that is the limit (151). Hopefully you have plenty of space for all your stuff.
Does anyone know know if there is a comic related event coming up like the one going on in family guy right now? Have they released any spoilers.

is there any reward for finding bunny? And does it count if its a friend, or many friend strategically placed to find her? You see, Im not is San Diego, but I have strong connections to IFC, which is a large contributor to the event, which means many of my former co workers are attending. If there is a prize, is using these assets to my advantage allowed?
Not sure about the reward but I do know she’s no longer there so the hunt is over.
Something interesting I noticed. The First Church of Springfield pays out $200 every 12 hours or $400 a day. The Buddhist Temple pays out $135 every 8 hours or $675 a day. A little joke about getting more of Buddhism than Christianity? Or just me reading way too much into this game after one too many really long shifts?

Hello everybody. ..just curious. …is there a secret for nabbing doughnuts from my neighbors? ?..Some days I get 1 from visiting 100 friends and other days I can get up to 7 for visiting the same 100 friends..just looking for helpful hints…
Really just random. Some are luckier than others.
Wait. We get donuts for visiting friends? I visit my friends’ Springfields everyday, and I never get any donuts. I only have about a dozen friends though in the game. Is there a certain amount of friends you have to have before it starts paying out donuts? Do you get them everyday or week or just once in a blue moon?
After you get all the Friend Prizes, there is a random chance to win donuts in your neighbors towns. It’s all random and some people are luckier than others. Of course, the more friends you tap on, theoretically the better your chances.

I applied for a new job! It’s in the same company I’ve been with for 10 years, but the job functions are different – it has a long silly name, but basically I would be writing newsletters and press releases which is totally up my alley. I’ve told a grand total of 3 people (and even that’s too many methinks), and I’m trying not to be *too* excited as 1) I don’t want to be disappointed, and 2) I don’t want to give the impression I’m about to jump ship since I’ll probably stick around another year or two if I don’t get the position (or if it pays less, heh…hopefully that’s not the case, it shouldn’t be anyway…).
Anyway, I have a lot of nervous energy right now and had to say something to someone – if you can’t trust strangers on the internet, who can you trust?!?
On the game front, I still have no handshakes for the most part. I reinstalled again yesterday and this time nothing showed up. I put in my 3rd ticket update to EA, just asking for some sort of personalized response to say they’re working on it. I told them I just want it fixed before the next friend-oriented thing happens, whether it’s a new FP prize or an event. I’ve taken to tapping all my buildings once every 12 hours and no one has deleted me so I guess that’ll do for now. It could be worse I suppose, my game works otherwise and I feel bad for those who are locked out. 🙁

Contacting EA, as much of a pain in the butt as it is, is the best thing you can do. Just keep harassing….err contacting them. The squeaky wheel gets the grease! 🙂
Wish you the very best of luck with the new gig. That is very weird with the friend visits. I had several days with none and then a ton appeared. I agree though that at least our games work.

I’ve had the handshake bug on and off for awhile — Had to be away from the game for about 24 hours, sent everyone on 24 hour tasks, then came back to zero handshakes and dollar signs above almost everything. Yet less than 20 min after I started playing again, some handshakes showed up on several buildings.
Today, for the first time ever, I received some notifications that neighbors had visited. I’ve had the switch turned on for this since April. Odd.
And still have to hit retry every time I start the game.

I do see handshakes sporadically, and I try to see if there’s anything specific I’m doing when they appear. The only consistency I can see is that they most often appear after leaving edit mode, but it’s not really all that consistent and they’ll show up randomly when I’m not in there too so…
Oddly, I too got a notification someone visited today, it was while I was waiting for my game to reload (of course). I even saw that set of handshakes, it’s probably been my second set in two days. I turned notifications on after I started having problems, but that was the first time it told me something I wanted to know.
Hey CSMeow 🙂 Good luck on the new job possibility! On the handshake thing, funny thing is after a couple of mentions here, all of a sudden last night I had tons of handshakes! I was beginning to worry since no handshakes was bumming me out a bit because I was worried they weren’t getting mine.
You know what really sucks!!! A vacuum cleaner but enough jokes. I nuked my Springfield a couple of days ago and it seems like I’m missing stuff. I could’ve sworn to god that my bonus rate was at 56.05% and now after putting all premium stuff back it’s at 52.55%. Is this something I should tell EA about? Last time I did get EA involved I got father Sean and Bobbins when my game messed up.

No one knows what will be in future updates at this point…EA’s pretty tight lipped about it. I know there’s some speculation it’ll be a tie-in with the season premiere. But anything at this point is pure speculation. 🙂 And don’t worry I only smack my husband for wandering eyes 😉
I nuked mine and actually got some free premium items. I’ve never bought anything and now I have 3 burning bushes since the nuke. 🙂 wonder if it’ll work again…
Jon, is there any chance that something else affecting the bonus is still in the cardboard box? Are all the stars back where they were? Are there enough trees, houses, stores, etc. to max out everything non-premium?
Sadly I still have no hospital. I’m now on level 42 and just did the task where Apu is supposed to recover in the hospital. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and stored everything. Ugh! I’m frustrated.

I think so. Not sure. Seems like some start but never finish but I might be wrong
Best thing to do is to contact EA. You may have a specific glitch with your game. If you’ve built everything before Sanjay’s house and the hospital is still locked, that’s most likely the issue.
I contacted EA they said to uninstall and reinstall. You think I should contact them again?
Yes. Make sure you let them know you’ve done all the basic trouble shooting (several times) and it’s not correcting the problem. Sometimes you have to be a little insistent with the support people.
Cybersilly — just in case you happen to pop in, I can’t believe you nuked your SF! You’re way more brave than I. Your town was already awesome, and I’m excited to see what you decide to do!

(I know, always the responsible one LOL). It seems to run the same. I’d wait to upgrade until after September when the 6 comes out. I actually am eligible for one too and waiting to get it.
I was hoping you’d say the game played better LOL. I dislike new technology (old age I guess 😉 ), so I’ll stick with my 4s as long as I can 🙂
I would have to but when I used my insurance, the upgrade happened automatically. I’m a “special” when it comes to tech so it could be super fast and I don’t notice. I’m still not sure Blu Ray is better and HD sometimes drives me crazy (especially with older movies). Nothing wrong with the 4S although a bunch of my friends and I are convinced ios 7 introduced glitches to convince people to upgrade.
Funny you mentioned the IOS7 thing, I’ve always said companies need to outdate/mess with their own product to stay in business, and that’s why they stop supporting platforms after a while. I really don’t notice much difference in Blu-Ray myself, and I agree with the HD and older movies.

Do you hit retry after it comes up the first time? My game displays the “can’t connect to server” message with Bart every time I start playing. But after I hit retry once, the game let’s me in.
