You know, I was driving home today and saw a ton of signs for yard sales and my first thought was… I bet they don’t have Portland-inspired buildings, old men in wigs, ninjas and half naked Scotsmen. Does that mean I have a TSTO problem?
Anywho… Wookiee back with another WDTCF courtesy of the re-released stuff EA decided to offer again. My opinions may be mixed on everything being premium but it still doesn’t stop me from getting to talk about origins. For this round, I had to cover Ninja Homer because who doesn’t love a ninja?
This skin originally was featured in our beloved games during Whacking Day 2013 for 120 donuts. With it’s reduced price to 100 donuts for this Yard Sale, it may truly be the only Yard Sale-esque item of the bunch. Be that as it may, we’re here to see it in the ink so to speak so let’s head to Season 4, Episode 20: Whacking Day.
This is a classic episode. An elementary ruse with mountain bikes, historical whacking by Nixon, Grampa cabaret dancing for Hitler, Lisa protests harming animals and Barry White is on board with her agenda. This episode is just chalk full of goodness. Among it all though is the scene I always think of when I reminisce about this episode… Ninja Homer.
I can remember as a small child just loving Homer flipping around the back yard whacking practice snakes. Maybe I was biased having loved other ninjas in movies including some turtles but I still smile big watching this.
Just a quick scene with Homer going all Bruce Lee but priceless to me. That’s really it for this skin in the episode. I have to admit that back during the Whacking Day event I splurged on a whole practice snake area just to see Homer jump around. Up to you if one snake makes it worth adding him to your town.

That sums up this round. This skin might actually be the black costume Homer was referencing in the opening dialogue for the 2014 Yard Sale. I think of this skin as EA’s apology for not doing Whacking Day again. I hope every one is having a great life and enjoying their time in TSTO. I’m a bit worried the turtles look like they’ve been on steroids in the new movie.
When I first saw them I was a bit put off but then I saw Shredder in the theater prieview plus some Foot smashing and I got excited again. Doesn’t take much to excite my inner child though. TMNT were my very first comics.
