Anyway enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? No it’s not time to kick Gil to the curb (although that happens tomorrow, so make your final purchases…). Nope it’s time for another Sunday Night Open Thread! (this is very quickly becoming our favorite time of the week by the way! You guys have some AWESOME things to say!)
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Sunday Night Open Thread. Gil showed up in Springfield last week with a meh of a donut deal. What did YOU think of the deal? Did you take it? What do you think this week will bring to Springfield? The Simpson Concert details have been released, are you on the west coast of the US? Will you be attending? Sunday Night Baseball is the Nationals vs the Braves…will you be watching?

I know its not Sunday but I really think tapped out should have a randomize town feature for after or maybe even before you blow it up just to change things up every once in a while

I know it’s not Sunday anymore, but I’d really like to see another Event. I love both this game and TQFS, but I feel like the latter has more events to keep me hooked in. I feel bad for my neighbors on TSTO because I’m not being as active there as I was before, because there’s not really anything for me to do atm.
Hopefully something will be coming along (today I hope!)…the lull is wearing us all pretty thin 🙁
Something Something is coming I was tapping in my beta town the FP just jumped to maximum points from 3600 to4500.

Ok this is an unusual issue and I’m kind of embarrassed about it. When I go to the bathroom it burns a little…wait. Sorry wrong site.
My issue is one most people would love to have. A few month’s ago I tried to log in and couldn’t access my game for a few days. I was about to just give up on it and decided to try one more time. It said it had been logged in on another device and asked to save it blah blah, but it worked. Now this is where it gets odd. I had mysteriously acquired over thirty thousand doughnuts and several million dollars. I was overjoyed and went on a crazy shopping spree in hopes that I could get everything I wanted before the mistake was corrected.
I know, I’m a bastard and how could I. It’s a game. I’m the guy who will find a dollar on the ground in a store and take it to the lost and found. This, I thought, was harmless and a win win. Well as time passed my doughnuts stayed. I had purchased every item and as a new one appeared I snatched it up. I rushed all quests, bought everything and still haven’t even made a dent in my treasure. It was exciting and fun at first but the game has now lost its challenge and became very boring. I haven’t even played it in ages and only log on to see if there is a new event. I had made so much progress on my own and was very proud of my accomplishments. Now I feel like a thief and all around bad guy even though I haven’t done anything wrong. I tried everything I could think of to get rid of the treasure but it is impossible to spend that much. I now understand the classic movie “Brewster’s Millions.”
I know you’re wondering why I didn’t contact EA. Well after I spent some of the doughnuts I figured I might be in trouble for using them or waiting so long to report it. I don’t want to lose my account and I also don’t want to start from scratch. Has anyone else had this happen and if so how did you fix it? Is it a glitch or a hack? I changed my password just in case but I want the excitement I had when I first started playing back. I primarily only play Family Guy now and believe it or not, I worry that one day I will wake up and it will be over flowing with clams. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time everyone.

Actually this opens up an interesting question. Which is more fun: Premium play or Freemium play?
I am a Freemium player. As such I am making annoyingly slow progress. I have been playing for nearly a year but have only collected about 500 donuts in that time through various means. I have since spent them on a few characters and Barney’s Bowlerama. I am completely addicted to the game, playing several times a day to max out my cash income so that I can then max out my XP to collect additional donuts. I also visit all my friends daily so that I can get occasional donuts from them. The point is that to me every single donut collected is precious and gets me a little closer to my next goal.
If you are a Premium player does the game lose some of it’s draw, because if you want a premium item, you just have to decide if it’s worth buying and then buy it. Job done. Where’s the challenge? On the other hand being able to buy donuts means you can put your efforts into designing your Springfield the way you want it with all the buildings you may wish to have.
Personally I prefer the Freemium route. I would love to hear from Premium players as to what makes the game enjoyable/challenging for you.
JPW, In other games I’ve played the game as a premium player and so far in this one I’ve been a freemium player. I greatly prefer a mixed mode where I boost my game with the occasional premium purchase but mostly play a free game.
You cannot buy happiness, but a properly timed purchase can go a long way toward preventing the opposite!
We talk a lot about what episodes of The Simpsons we’d like to see in Tapped Out. Wouldn’t it be great if they did an episode of The Simpsons based on the game… And then did an update for the game based on that episode!
LOL — I think some people’s heads would explode! Or in some cases, they might implode, but the result would be the same….
Was anyone else bummed to see the teen choice awards on instead of the Simpson’s? I know it would have been one I already saw, but I still wanted my fix. Oh well gave me some time to work on the honey do list, no matter how many items I check off, the list it never seems to get any shorter, sigh.
And to my neighbors: Sorry I haven’t been visiting, but I’m not playing too much at the moment, nothing to do in the game, and it’s the busy time of year in my field. I’ll be back in force whenever the update hits.
Finally made it to level 43! Woo hoo!!!
Also I finally maxed it my conform o meter! Along with decorations it’s a little over 20%!
Quick question, is it going to make you more money to send out people in town on missions or send them out in Krustyland and then trade tickets for money?

For me it’s better to send them out in Springfield (you’re conform-o-meter bonus works there) to earn money faster. 🙂

Hey there! So I remembered that someone posted about the iTunes deal on target and decided to snatch that up and buy some donuts. Deal on deal! Who out there is good at math? I’m terrible and I’m trying to figure out just exactly what kind of deal I’d be getting. I spent $45 and received $50 in iTunes credit. What’s the percentage off? Or any other number you want to throw at me?
One way of looking at it is 10% off. The iTunes card is usually $50 so 10% of that is $5 — which is exactly how much they took off the price for you.
It’s 10% off. Not bad. Though the week before, Target had them for 15% off. I think that was $42.50 for the same iTunes Gift Card. I think Staples is now doing 15% off for purchases of $25 or more on iTunes Gift Cards from August 10th to the 16th.
Easy way is times both numbers by 2 to reach 90 and 100 so it is a 10 percent discount. I’m not sure what Gil’s percent discount is.
Well if you spent $45 and got $50 of credit you saved ten percent ($5). Are you talking about the amount of donuts saved, or is it all about the money?
Thanks for all the replies! So what’s the total discount for Gil’s deal plus my 10% iTunes savings. Or better yet, how many extra donuts am I getting? I like to think I’m getting free donuts but maybe that’s not true.
Hello can only log in for two minutes at a time before kicked out done all the trouble shooting things but no luck going on one week that other game has been keeping me busy any suggestions on what else I can do thanks.
It might just be a glitch right now with the game. It’s happening to me as well, off and on. The only other thing you can do, outside of the normal troubleshooting, is to contact EA. 🙁

Krustyland shuttles change based on your Krust-o-meter. The higher it is the fancier your bus stop 🙂
Maude was in a Halloween update and the krustyland shuttle depends on what your conform o meter is for krustyland.

I loved Gil’s deal, I got Frink’s Lab, Duff Stadium and the Try-N-Save. Plus now I have plenty of donuts to spend on more premiums! Oh and I leveled up to 33 so things are coming along nicely!

I really do hope we get a major update (hell minor update) so I can drop this family guy game. I’m so sick of summer now. In Montreal it’s either too hot (chaud) or cold (froid). Here’s hoping we get the pool mobile & lurlene lumpkins for the summer update.
I am trying to enjoy my last day of vacation. Tomorrow it is back to school for the faculty. It will be a week of many meetings and a lot of preparation. Classes begin on the 18th. As much as I love my job, summers sure are great.

Howdy! Well it’s 100 degrees and bone dry here in Austin Texas. I could almost move to Florida to get IN the path of a hurricane to see rain and hear thunder! Anyways I’m waiting on Big brother to come on and tapped out on the Simpsons. I really can’t wait for a fun event to drop and a new FP prize! I’m ready for summer to be over, bring on the holidays! Family guy game is fun right now but the Simpsons tapped out is still my favorite. Update time!

Decided to “bite” on the donut deal expecting to at least get a building I have been wanting. (I had none of the possible ones to win) I figured I’d be happy as long as I didint get Mt. Carlmore, it was the only one I didint want… Well I am now the owner of a mountain with Carls face on it lol. Can’t even look to the Yankees to make me feel better this weekend. After almost sweeping the Tigers, losing 2 of 3 to the Indians is a huge disappointment. Oh well, at least the weather in NY was amazing this weekend!
Ugh don’t get me started on the Yankees. I swear…every time they take 1 step forward they take 15 steps back! And yes…GREAT weather this weekend 🙂

I’d go for the chance to change to nighttime lighting sometimes. Seeing all the buildings lit up would be really cool. Fireworks, Christmas lights, anything that burns, etc., would also be pretty neat.
Here’s hoping next week we get a new FP’s prize. Seems like its been forever since bill & Marty gave us something stupid.

lol I know nothing. Just make speculations based on what we’ve seen in the past. We’ve seen an event every other month…so this month would be the month (especially since Halloween will hit in October). October-Halloween, December- Christmas, February- Valentine’s Day, April- Easter, June- Stonecutters…August- ??? 🙂
Just finished a long shift at work. Another local company is in the middle of a nasty strike and it has caused us to get tons of extra customers. Mean while we are DOWN a person versus last year and everyone (except me) has tons of vacations. Ugh. At least the managers will be getting nice bonuses though, that is what is important.
Not getting the Gil deal, not ready to take the plunge to premium yet. I am in the middle (endish I hope) of level 42 while doing level 43 at the same time. Juggling Krusty between the two has gotten interesting. I am hung up on 43 while I wait for the mission to build the pavilion. Why can’t they play poker at the dog track like everyone else?
Red Sox won today so that makes things somewhat better. If you guys every decide to do a design the next event contest I have an awesome entry I have been working on.
I think we’ll be doing another one…it was insanely popular.

Hadn’t heard the Yankees lost. That is too bad. Out of curiosity, do the buildings like the Wax Museum and Grocery Store have storylines that make you build them or are they just there for bored players who are the highest level?
Nope, nothing attached with them. Just buildings. The Sunsphere, however, does have a questline and fun tasks 🙂
Okay, I want to put something out there. I think that the Simpsons Death is going to be unrelated to Krusty. Maybe he just gets fired, and the death is someone else. Anyone e;lse have any ideas?

As far as who I want to die…well the simple answer is no one lol. Who wants to see a character get killed off of a show they enjoy, right? (unless it’s someone evil…) I would hope it would be Sideshow, only because I think they can easily bring him back. But I have a feeling it’ll be Rabbi Krustofski. It’ll be interesting to see what unfolds, that’s for sure!
I’ll comment on Sunday this week instead of Monday morning. Though quite how I’m still awake at 12:30am UK time I don’t know. Might be because it’s still windy outside. We’ve had the remains of hurricane Bertha hit us today. Some lovely torrential rain this afternoon and a very loud thunderstorm.
No sport here yet, Premier League Soccer doesn’t start till next week so not even a Manchester Utd game I can cheer on. There was a game today between Manchester City and Arsenal but as I dislike them both (and I was working till 7pm) I didn’t watch it.
Been a bit lazy with my Springfield this week, mostly because it’s been a rough week at work and I’ve been really tired because of all the 5am starts I do. Day off tomorrow though so maybe I’ll catch up a bit.

Yes but they are pretty rare. We usually get remains of ones that have hit you guys in the USA as low depressions. There was a very severe one in 1987 (I was 4) that did lots of damage and killed people too.
We also have the odd tornado too, again pretty rare and usually weak. There was apparently one yesterday up North, linked to the storm.
Yep we get the hurricanes that do not runout of steam over the Atlantic.the winds were around 50 mph but in winter winds in Scotland getup 80-90regularly and gusts over 100 mph.
As for sport lots on over weekend come on Rory McIlroy another red.

Great weather this weekend. Took advantage of the lull and took to the outdoors. Went canoing and kayaking on nice lake nearby. See there are positives to taking a game break.
