Friendship Level 10: Unlocking Marge Tetherball

Friendship is rare, do you know what I’m saying to you?  Friendship is rare…

Oh hey there… how you doing today?  Just singing one of my favorite songs about friends, don’t mind me.  So… how’s life? Winding down the Clone Wars and Level 44?  Racking up those FP’s by visiting your neighbors?  Just a reminder, remember to help out your fellow neighbors and clear those handshakes!  Are you in need of more Tapping Friends?  Remember you can always find friends on our Add Friends Page (and here for ones who pledge not to vandalize you)…the best (and only way) to submit your Add Me requests on TSTO Addicts!

So with the Level 44 update, EA also gave us the 10th Social Currency Event Prize…the Marge Tetherball!  A new decoration for your Springfield!  So now my friends let’s break down this 10th prize.

The Marge Tetherball is unlocked once you’ve unlocked KBBL AND earned an additional 4,000 FP…so many of you should be unlocking it sometime in the next few days (depending on how many friends you have) or you should have it already.  So what happens when you unlock this decoration?  Does it do anything? What about a questline?  Well let’s answer all of your questions by taking a closer look at it.

Once you’ve completed Friendship Level 9 and earned an additional 4,000 FP you’ll unlock this statue and you’ll see this message popup:

2014-09-05 20.26.28

Once you return to your Springfield you’ll find the Marge Tetherball in your Inventory. You will have to go into your inventory to unlock it completely.  It will not automatically be in your Springfield.

Some quick facts about the statue:
– It’s 2×2 in size
Here’s the origin info for the statue.  Without knowing this, I’d probably hate this Friendship Prize
– Basically just a new decoration, no bonus, no questline, no conformometer boost but it was free.

Now that you’ve completed Level 10, what’s next?  Well it’s onto Level 11 and earning 5,000 FP for Mr. Teeny.  What does that mean exactly?  Basically the same thing it meant before only a level higher.

Well that’s it really.  What do YOU think of the Marge Tetherball making it into the game?  Have you unlocked it yet?  Did you earn it via FP or did you spend donuts to get it faster?  Were you excited they added it to the game?  Sound off in the comments below…you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  2. Hey leroy82drop why did you tag my building you had 17 other things you could have tapped but you didn’t…the people on here are nice enough to add you to play you should be nice enough not to tag….bye

  3. I was maxed out on my friend points and now my points have re-started at the olmac head. It won’t let me add him or delete it. How do I get my points back without of course starting all over?? Help please!! -Megs

  4. Hi I have got Marge tetherball but actually hate it,will it make a difference if I leave it in my inventory. Glad I got mr Teeny though 🙂 Cheers.

  5. I’m happy with my marge (after all she was free) originally I put her in my barbarian castle to be a pair with the homer statue, but now I have her as a standalone in my Springfield park.

  6. I got the Margerieball yesterday. I like anything that spoofs American politicians, even though they are such easy targets. This will do very nicely… Malaise Forever!!!

  7. Please does anybody know how to get free cash or donuts
    It would be much appreciated!!

    • Play the game. You can earn a lot of free donuts by maxing out your Friend Points and getting them randomly from tapping neighbors once its maxed. Also from various questlines.

  8. Thanks for your WDTCF post – this had me puzzled too, thanks for jiggling the brain matter. I’ve put her in my main park, just south of old Jebediah, and once I unlock the Homer statue in this latest event (tomorrow morning perhaps?), the two will sit side by side for eternity (or until the game is retired by EA, whichever comes first). 🙂

  9. Ooh watching stonecutters episode on fxx finally know origin of event.

  10. Thanks for this! I left the Marge tetherball in my inventory without even looking closely enough to realize it was not even Marge but rather Jimmy Carter with Marge hair! I don’t remember the Marge/Jimmy Carter gag but is that the episode with Tattoo Annie who had a MAD fold-in tattoo on her back that read, “What, me marry?” Priceless!

  11. About Clash of the Clones: Like many, I’ve already topped out on the event. In my A-game, all three of my castles are already at level 20 (a bit of an unfortunate disincentive for folks to attack my town, but so be it), and the elixirs keep piling up.

Well, if you’re also like me and like to stockpile special event parts for building things later, now’s a good time to collect castle walls, towers, and gates. True, you can’t buy Recycle Castle or Boxingham Palace parts without donuts — but elixirs can be used to buy those lovely stone parts for the main Barbarian Castle. Not sure what I’ll use them for in the future, but I’m sure I can come up with something. Maybe an upgrade for Burns Manor’s defenses… Anyway, walls segments are only 100 elixirs each, towers are 750, and gates are 1500.

I put away a ton of those hieroglyph walls from the Stonecutter event and never regretted the decision. In this case here, it’s elixirs — and really, what else are ya gonna spend them on? A level 25 or 30 castle for ‘bragging rights’? (It makes no sense either to be paying 10k+ for each wall piece when you can have them for just 100 elixirs.

There is one weirdness when buying castle parts. If you select the build menu to buy one, but you already have some of the same part in your inventory, the game will act like you just want to build a bunch in a row. However, what it does is for the 2nd and subsequent builds, is it pulls your stored ones out of your inventory. I kept wondering, after I put the wall parts away, “Why do I only have 21 when I was trying to build a solid 30 to store?” Answer: It built one, then added 9 more from the ones I’d already made and stored.

  12. Im not that excited to get this, once I do, it will most likely stay in my storage

  13. Oh s%&+ there’s a bear! Could you hand me that shotgun buddy, also that chair.

  14. Hi! Sorry if this is a little off-topic, but I just thought that the newest update would be the best place to ask this question (seeing as most people are looking at this website). I recently talked to a great person over at EA Support (as suggested because I can’t access Akira even though I’m level 28 and you’re supposed to be able to buy him at 15). We were both confused as to why it didn’t show up in either of our games (along with Sherri and Terri who are “supposed” to unlock to buy at level 1). We are both familiar with your site (we actually referenced it when discussing what characters unlock when). The call ended with me saying I would call back if I get to the level that they were released, and they’re still not there. My question is, how is it known that these characters can unlock at early levels (since many of you are very high levels)? Is it possible that because I haven’t completed the New Evergreen Terrace quest (that unlocked at level 1-ish) is the reason why I can’t access these certain premium characters (and some premium buildings i.e. Museum of Natural History). Could it be anything else? Thanks in advance for your responses! I love this site, and it’s apparent that the EA Support team love it too!

    • The info comes from the game files. It may very well be that low level task holding things up. If it is, definitely let us know. Strange that EA wasn’t able to answer the question

    • There are a few factors that are in play here. There is a GAME level and an XP level you have to follow. XP is just the number at the bottom of your screen that gives you the option to unlock items along the way. However, it is the GAME play level you have to watch when wanting certain characters in the game to unlock. Game Play Levels are basically how many walkthroughs you have completed. THOSE will determine what characters show up to buy. For instance, your XP could be really high, but you may have only completed the Walktroughs to get your Game Play to level 11.

The best thing I can suggest is that you verify with our Walkthrough page where you are in your Game Play Level and we can go from there on troubleshooting.

Here is the basic Walkthrough page… (all this is in the menus on our home page)
      http://tstoaddicts.com/walkthroughs/tapped-out-level-walkthroughs/

Here is the one for level 11-16…
      http://tstoaddicts.com/2013/08/15/193/

There are also sidequests for him that need you on higher levels like 27. Thing I am thrown off by is the files show Akira available as early as Level 5. At least the quest trigger says so. So if you have ANY open quests from the very first levels. Complete them all. That should help to trigger some of the main items.

      • Thank you (and Wookie!) very much! I didn’t understand how the XP level works vs. the game level (which I didn’t even know was a thing haha), but now it makes total sense. My last house for the NET quest is currently building, then that should be all of the quests that I have from the early part of the game. I’ll reply with anything new that comes up when it’s completed. Thanks again!

    • Hi Consuela. I’m currently at level 43. So I have a little experience with what you’re going thru. I experienced the same thing when I was at the lower levels. I found that I wasn’t completing all of the quests- mostly because when I started playing the game, it was in the middle of the Stone Cutters event. I got bogged down in Stone Cutter quests, and the other quests got put on the sidelines. I couldn’t sync up all of the correct characters at the same time to pursue all of the quests at the same time. So I kept leveling up, but not getting access to certain buildings. I think the same thing is probably happening to you with the Clash of Clones event. I guarantee that accessing buildings will become much easier for you once the Clash of Clones event is over. I hope this helps.

  15. I just got Marge tetherball yesterday. It’s OK. I wish it earned me something like a bonus, etc. I’m tapping like crazy trying to get Mr Teeny so that I can go back to earning more $ and donut chances. I’m up to 98 donuts at the moment (and holding). I’m trying to decide what my next premium purchase will be. I’ve had my eye on Frinks lab, Krustylu studios, and The Happy Sumo. I’m getting a little weary of Clash of Clones. I’m up to 74283 gold. Homer is at level 54, Marge at level 18, Lisa at level 34, and Bart at level 25. Yawn.

  16. Personally I would rather they made just Mr Teeny as a new FP Prize even if it was 7000 FP rather than give this. I don’t have anywhere to put it and there is no payout boost or tasks associated with it.

Me no like this prize. NOPE!!!!!

  17. I have the Marge Tetherball, but I’m not getting more money. Maybe bc I’m still Level 39?
