Should I Spend Donuts On The Freakshow Tent?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Clash of Clones Event has arrived. With all of the new Clash of Clones Premium Items that are Limited Time ,it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that Limited Time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Freakshow Tent to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this decoration to YOUR Springfield!

freakshow tentDecoration: Freakshow Tent
Donut Price: 80 donuts
Bonus: None
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +800

Pros:
-Fits in with the Medieval decorations
-Old item from Halloween 2013, so if you didn’t get it then you can pick it up now.
-Was from most recent Treehouse of Horrors XXIV episode.

Cons:
-Expensive for just a decoration
-When it was originally released it was for in-game cash.
– No bonus % associated with it
-Improves vanity, the easiest of the Conform-O-Meter categories to max out
-Just sits there, no one uses it.  Most players from 2013 have it tucked in their inventory or struggled to find somewhere cool to place it.

Final Thought:
Personally, I think this is a pass.  While I do have this from Halloween 2013, it was essentially free when I got it.  Since then it just sits on my boardwalk taking up space.  It really does little to improve your TSTO playing, so unless you have the perfect place for it and MUST have it….I say pass.  For 80 donuts it’s just not worth it..especially when you can buy Fort Sensible or the Box of Fireworks for less.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and this is one I wouldn’t pull the trigger on.  Whatever you decide just remember, this is a Limited-time item…so if you’re thinking about it make sure you make your decision prior to the Clash of Clones Event leaving our games October 7th!

What are your thoughts on the Freakshow Tent?  Will you be spending the donuts to add it to to YOUR Springfield?  Or do you still have it from Halloween 2013?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. I got it during Halloween last year. So, going with my want to keep things grouped up, I have it with my Church of Lard Lad and Pumpkin House in a Halloween area. If I didn’t already have it, I’d probably think “oh cool. Love a good circus item, but no.” I wonder though, if you already got one, would it be re buy-able?

  2. Like everyone else mine’s on the boardwalk in my A game. My B game I have it set in with my cardboard castle area, if I get it just right I’ll do it in the A game too. And no this is definitely not worth 80 donuts.

  3. I had seen it in other towns before this recent offering from EA for it. I thought it might be cool to have when I first saw it, but not for 80 donuts. If it was half the price, I may had considered it, and even then it may be too high. Really for what it does or rather doesn’t do, it shouldn’t really be more than 20 donuts. So even though I had some interest in it initially, I’m going to pass on it. I did get Fort Sensible though. As always, thanks for breaking down the pros and cons for it here.

  4. I had to buy it to honor the upcoming FX American Horror Freakshow. Can’t wait for the season to begin!

  5. If I didn’t have this from Halloween I wouldn’t buy it. I hate it, but finally found an okay place for it in springfield.

  6. I put it on myboardwalk area back when i first got it, been there ever sence

  7. Well it is an ok decoration but not worth any donuts in my opinion. Besides I could just make my own freak show area with the tents from the clash of castles and wooden fences. Same payout too – Nothing. But I would rather use the tents and revise my wooded area and make a cool campsite with cabins and tents and beach area and campfires. Now I am excited to design that.

  8. I feel like ALMOST everyone puts the freakshow tent on the boardwalk.
    ~I did.

  9. I got it back at Halloween and stashed it on an island, but I’ve turned my Springfield into little Venice and a shrub covered/abandoned island seemed like a good fit. I don’t spend donuts haphazardly and would never suggest someone use them for this decoration.

Fitting it in is a nice challenge, though, like Bandango says…

  10. I didn’t know you could put it on the boardwalk! I maxed out my boardwalk a while ago, and it’s just a big empty slab. Moving it to the boardwalk right now.

  11. I’m using it as a sort of marketplace for my castle area. It looks awesome! I’m sooooo glad I didn’t have to pay donuts for it.

  12. I actually do like the look of it. I imagine it in a wooded area, like a gypsy encampment or something. That being said, I wasn’t playing last Halloween and it’s a HUGE item that doesn’t give any bonuses and costs WAY too many donuts. I like it, but I’m going to pass, especially since I can buy a whole bunch of individual tents with elixir and make my own encampment if I really want it.

Side question, what should I do if I click on my castle and it fails to give me nerds, and just resets the replenishment clock? I’m out 85 nerds! 🙁

  13. The only good thing about it is that you can put it on the boardwalk. I wouldn’t pay donuts for it, though

  14. Iif i didnt already have it from las Halloween I woils definatly say pass. It doesnt even generate any $$$, it’s barely worth being a freemium item much less a premium one.

  15. I passed on it, and did exactly as you suggested, Alissa, and went for Fort Sensible instead. I looked at the Freak Show Tents and saw they didn’t even produce money, which is crazy for something that chews up that much real estate. Plus they’re kinda ugly.

    Rainbow-puking two-nicorn? Well, that’s another matter… 😉 *Tap* *Blahhhgh! & chimey noise* *giggling*

I like this decoration a lot because it is challenging to design around but if you come up with something good it will set your Springfield apart as most players can’t really match its sepia toned color scheme or its logical flow within the town.

Of course I never would pay doughnuts for it though. Wasn’t it originally a community prize or a individual goo prize?
