Should I Spend Donuts On Clash of Clones Decorations?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Clash of Clones Event has arrived. With all of the new Clash of Clones Premium Items that are Limited Time ,it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that Limited Time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Flaming Torch, Chicken Coop or Barracks to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these decorations to YOUR Springfield!

flamingtorch_menu

Decoration: Flaming Torch
Donut Price: 10 donuts
Bonus: .20% to all Cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +150

Pros:
-Fits in with the Medieval decorations
-Inexpensive item.
-decent bonus payout for donuts spent

Cons:
-Improves vanity, the easiest of the Conform-O-Meter categories to max out
-It’s just a decoration.  Aside from the bonus % it won’t do anything for your Springfield but look pretty.
-Price can be deceiving.  More than likely you’ll end up buying several to fit in with your decoration theme, which would cost more donuts in the end.

Final Thought:
Personally, this is a toss up.  If you have the donuts to spend and you like how this will fit in with your design then it’s not a bad investment overall.  It’s got a decent payout for the donuts spent.  Just be mindful of how many you end up purchasing in the end.  Those 10 donut purchases can really add up!

chickencoop_menu

Decoration: Chicken Coop
Donut Price: 30 donuts
Bonus: .50% to all Cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +175

Pros:
-Fits in with the Medieval decorations
-Animation associated with it, Chickens walk around outside the coop.
-Decent Bonus payout for donuts spent.

Cons:
-Improves vanity, the easiest of the Conform-O-Meter categories to max out
-Just sits there, no one uses it.  So aside from the bonus % payout it serves no benefit to your Springfield other than how it looks.

Final Thought:
Personally, I like this one.  This is one of the few Clash of Clones premium items I actually purchased.  I like the look of it and the animation makes me giggle.  It’s also got a decent bonus for the donuts spent, although that’s not why I purchased this one.  I would say out of the 3 this is my favorite.

barracks_menu

Decoration: Barracks
Donut Price: 40 donuts
Bonus: .50% to all Cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +400

Pros:
-Fits in with the Medieval decorations
-Looks cool.

Cons:
-Improves vanity, the easiest of the Conform-O-Meter categories to max out
-Just sits there, no one uses it.
-It’s a remake of Macaroni’s Shed from the Season Finale Epsiode Tie-in
-Expensive for the % pay out awarded

Final Thought:
Personally, I think this is a pass.  While I do have Macaroni’s Shed, I’m not a fan of this one.  for me it just doesn’t go with my town and for the donut price and % awarded it’s just not worth it.

Bonus Should I Buys…

tsto cannonCannon (NOT Limited-Time)

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and on these I only made 1 purchase for this event (although in fairness I already have the cannon, Fireworks and Macaroni’s Shed) Whatever you decide just remember, these are Limited-time items…so if you’re thinking about it make sure you make your decision prior to the Clash of Clones Event leaving our games October 7th!

What are your thoughts on the Premium Decorations?  Will you be spending the donuts to add it to to YOUR Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. Last minute decided to buy the chicken coop, I’m not disappointed but I did expect a little more to the animation. Mine don’t walk around at all just peck where they’re standing. Is that not true for others?

  2. Is there any way to remove the castles without blowing up my entire town? I hate the barbarian questline and now that I’ve collected the catapult to punish prohibition violators, a chicken coop for the Spuckler farm and the two-story outhouse for Kamp Krusty, I’d like the rest of it out of the way. Taking up valuable space.

  3. The chicken coop has a very, very low payback for the 30 donuts, but I bought one for my B town just because it is cool !!!

  4. I love that chicken coop. I decided Flanders would totally be one of the new urban folks who keeps chickens in his backyard, and I love it there.

  5. Agreed…the chicken coop is very tempting and I might get one before the event ends – at this point it would require an expansion of my farm/guinea pig complex, but I’ll have to do that anyway at some point. The torches look great, but I’d probably want to get at least 4 of them and I’m not sure if I want to do that. Not remotely interested in the barracks due to it being a more expensive version of an item that I also passed on at the time the shed was available.

  6. Got a chicken coop and put it by the cat lady house so a cat runs past it. Got a couple of tiki torches. Would love more, but am not willing to spend the donuts. So I’m buying banners with elixir instead.

  7. I was going to comment that the Barracks looks so much like Macaroni’s Shed (which I don’t own). Now I see it is just a re-dress of it (similar to the Elixir Still brewery thingy and gold treasure chest introduced in this event). The only one I didn’t get was the Barracks. I have two Flaming Torches in front of the Barbarian Castle and the Chicken Coop in between that castle and Cletus’ farm.

I already had the Cannon and Crate of Fireworks. Though I guess I should and waited on the Fireworks as they are 10 donuts cheaper now than there were for the 4th of July event when I got them. I also had moved my cannon to the Barbarian Castle at the start of event long before EA added it to the Clash of Clones store category.

When I had created a small wooded area in my town back in July for Lincoln’s cabin and Cletus’ farm, I had no idea it would expand into a larger medieval area. The timing worked out well for me with this event. I plan on keeping the castles there after the event as a sort of Renaissance Faire in my Springfield (though eventually I may put the Boxingham Castle in storage… possibly the Recycle Castle too, but more likely the former than the latter).

  8. Should I buy: Sumatran Century Flower or Tire Fire?

    • Hmm…

Personally wait. Halloween is coming soon and those items are limited-time and are usually most coveted. The flower and the tire fire will both still be around after Halloween. Unless of course you have a ton of Donuts to spend. If that’s the case I’d go with the tire fire. They both give the same bonus, but the tire fire gives you more Vanity points. Plus it pops up in the show more often. Unless of course space is an issue. If you’re limited on space go with the flower…since it’ll take up less room.

  9. Should I buy Squeaky Voice Teen for 30 donuts (to complete a character collection) or should I wait until Halloween 2014?

  10. I want to ask why I still got a single cheater 20 in my inventory being locked when I am already at level 20 at all three of my castles? Is this a glitch?

  11. I’m not to in love with this event, nothing they have offered for donuts has me going “I need to buy that!” Like when they offered the Mayan bundle. I said “Here is your 20 bucks EA.” I am hoarding my donuts for a Halloween update….. Better be something cooler than the puking frog, i hate that thing.

  12. Hey guys, you get redirected to the crate of fire works page when clicked on. One small change, it’s back to costing it’s original amount of 50 donuts each. Wondering why the EA changed the price in the first place

  13. And also need more friends do u have a thread/post for friend requests

  14. The chicken coop looks like I seen it before not sure where at though i have the chicken coop plus torches and the barracks not sure where to put it them tho yet and thanks to family guy tqfs I am now an addict to tapped out

  15. Does anyone know if we will be able to store the castles once this event ends? Hate to waste land on things that aren’t canon.

  16. I put the chicken coop on Cletus’ farm. It looks great there!

  17. I’m considering the chicken coop. It will look pretty cool on Cletus farm when the clash of clones event is over

  18. The torches are a cool little decoration that can add interest to so many areas. I’ve added a few to Kamp Krusty near the entrance. They look spooky with Halloween decorations, grave yards, pumpkins, dead trees. If you have palm trees on the beach they add a tropical tiki look. I put two in front of the freak show tent entrance on SP. I love them.

  19. Only one that interests me is the chicken coop 😉

  20. Don’t have a lot of premium stuff but I bought the chicken coup right away and have not regretted it. Looks great at Cleatus’ farm.

  21. I’ve purchased two chicken coups (one for my castle, one for my farm I built around Lincoln’s cabin), and I think I may buy one more for Cletus’s farm. I also bought two torches, but that’ll be all I go for. I do love the chickens, probably because I long for a real-life coup of my own. 🙂

  22. would buy chicken coop if had enough
