Clash of Clones and the Conform-O-Meter

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Springfield has gone Medieval and Barbarians, Nerds & Castles have taken over the streets (and much in demand land), as the Clash of Clones Event is in full swing!   With all of the new items added to Tapped Out with the event I thought now would be a good time to take a look at how all of these items impact the Conform-O-Meter ratings.

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Clash of Clones Event brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, it did bring us a ton of new items to add to our Springfield.  Let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating:

  1. I’ve got ~200,000 elixir left with 18 hours left to spend it. Any suggestions?

  2. I might be in the wrong thread, but was wondering what you are all going to do with the excess elixir and or gold if you have it. Didn’t realize elixir would become so plentiful or I would’ve saved donuts. I already have 5 2 story outhouses and multiples of everything else, shame the catapult and hot air balloon aren’t elixir cost. The balloon is a good addition to my Springfield design. Thoughts? Would be great if I could trade back my glutton of elixir and gold into donuts. 😉

    • I’ll be going on a spending spree before the update ends (probably Monday night). Not 100% sure what i’ll be buying yet, but I know I’ll be spending it and most likely storing the items until I can decide exactly what to do with it. Anyone else?

  3. I know there is stuff about the other game halloween event but any news on the simpson’s halloween event?

  4. I have a feeling we’re gonna see Gabbo on our next halloween update! ..fingers crossed!

  5. Perhaps we should have an article on what to do with excess clash of clones decorations. Like many others I’ve got more elixir than I know what to do with but don’t want to lose it. So I’m trying to think of ideas for how use decorations in the rest of the town. Banners can be used as wallpaper for all the internal walls of your castle. Also can be disguised against shops and look like advertising. Hay cart goes with the farm, guinea pig centre, pumpkin house etc. Stocks go with stonecutters stuff. Balloon goes with duff blimp. The mini golf course fits with most as does the Halloween stuff. Tents can be used in playgrounds. Generally anything I don’t know what to do with I put in a plsyground. Boxingham goes well with that theme. Boardwalk is good place for decorations that would look odd elsewhere. I’m sure others have good ideas to share.

  6. I have been concentrating on sending my nerds to my neighbours who haven’t got to 38000 yet then working my through the rest (apologies that I don’t get there every day). Have been collecting a few bits and pieces in the hope that they will be able to be moved to Krustyland eventually. I like the idea of a medieval spot there.

  7. I was certain the balloon came with a multiplier as well? Does it not?

  8. I’m still hoping (though not too optimistic) that they add in a bit more before the event ends. I’ve got over 600,000 elixir and if nothing new is added I’ll just end up with dozens of each of the existing items, plus hundreds of castle walls…

  9. Hi,
I know this isn’t the right place for this but I’m done with this CoC update.
I’ve put the cardboard castle and Castle recycle in storage (The area in my town with out of season bits!)
Keeping the main castle and have put last year’s pumpkins outside the houses and put the tree with Skeleton’s out near the church!
    (SPOOKY!)
Anybody else gonna false start this year’s Halloween? ?

Don’t forget last year the event started on October 1st, so I’m not that early!!

    • I like this idea! I keep Halloween up all year long in my Springfield, but I like the idea of decorating for Halloween a little early! 🙂

  10. My game suddenly won’t connect when on 3G/4G. I can access all other apps and sites so pretty sure my signal is fine – I’m just at work, where I always play via 3G. It’s fine on wifi. I’ve tried force closing and even uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and now it won’t even connect for long enough to download all the updates! So sick of the Bart screen right now 🙂 I still need to earn elixir to collect some items and I’m gutted that this has happened in this final week of the event. I have raised a ticket with EA…no response as yet. *sigh*

  11. I hoped there were at least some items that were not for VANITY. I’m going to end up with thousands of elixir which will be wasted — unless I decide I want to build a castle wall enclosing all of OR dividing up my Springfield.

(Hmmm… maybe I’ll try a reworking of Springfield which borrows from China and Mongolia or East and West Germany.)

I’d gladly spent most of my elixir if I had some item(s) had an effect on CONSUMERISM, GLUTTONY, or almost anything else. I am wondering if any COC decorations will eventually be able to be used in KrustyLand. C’mon! What would be more iconic or typical than a castle in the middle of an amusement park?

  12. Hi Alissa. I’m wondering what to do with all of my Elixar, roughly 50,00 and rapidly increasing. I have more than enough of everything I can purchase with it and am bored of upgrading my castles. Was hoping to turn it into cash, but can’t sell anything I buy with it.
Do you have any idea what will happen to left over Elixar when the event is over? Do you have any creative ideas as to what I should/can do with it, or just any advice?
Thank you for your time Alissa……. 🙂

    • That’s a tough one…i have a similar amount myself. I do know it’s most likely a use it or lose it situation with the elixir. So you’ll want to use it before the event ends. As far as creative ideas go…it just depends on how you like to decorate your Springfield and what you want to stock up on. You can always place items in your inventory and save them for a future design.
Personally, I made a little Medieval area in my town where everything goes. The hay carts might be nice with Halloween coming up and I saw some cleaver designs with the stocks and Guillotine on the boardwalk.

      • I had a similar idea of buying up castle walls and decorations (my elixir was over 100,000) and storing them in my inventory until I purchased more land to build a nice medieval village. I bought over 50 walls yesterday morning and another 50+ last night. I just checked my inventory and I only have 55 walls. All of my other decorations I bought are there. Is there a limit to the number of walls you can buy? I tried contacting EA but the only option available is live chat, which has a wait time of 70-75 minutes. Did they remove the email option from their site? Oh, and thanks for the time you all put into this site. You guys are awesome!

        • It depends on what time you try and what option you give them. Various support options appear based on that combo. It does seem odd to me about the cap though. Contacting them, for sure, is the best way to go in this case..

      • Could you please (if available) show a picture using the guilotine creativity? I’m been thinking of using rows of stocks as a fancy fence or wall, just don’t know where, yet?

Also, do you have any examples of how to use the castle walls in a “3D image”?

        I’m looking for “inspiration”!

    • The day before the event ends, I plan on buying a lot of whatever I like and wouldn’t mind excess of. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to either send it over to KL, or maybe sell the stuff I don’t want. Or do you think they won’t let us sell the items after the event? I know we can’t right now…

  13. Slightly off topic, but is anyone else very, very burned out by this event? I am so tired of sending my nerds to random people and invading 1 nerd at a time. It’s by far the most effective, so I’ve done it as much as possible, but it’s gotten to the point where it’s extremely boring. I earned all the prizes over a week ago, and there’s still another week left! If I was doing it for donuts that would be just fine, but it’s for Elixir and I have over 50,000 after buying all the decorations I want. I am going to keep doing it in the hopes that there will be something new to purchase in the last week of the event, but Tapped Out is just a chore right now.

Am I alone in this, or do others feel the same way?

    • I think a LOT of players feel the same way….especially those that finished several weeks ago (myself included). Just ready for the next thing.

Fortunately, 1 more week and it’s onto the next event! 🙂

    • Yes. Very. $120k in elixir. Everything I could buy (40 outhouses maybe?) is just vanity points. Sort of fun for 2 weeks. But 7 weeks? Brutal. Just brutal. And hardly anything “fits” into Springfield. Unless you want to take up a ton of precious real estate to have a medieval section or something. I plan on storing most of it after this event is over.

    • I have no near the Elixir you have but I’m totally burned out. I first tried to build the Barbarian Castle of my dreams, thinking I’d turn it into Old Springfield, akin to something you might see in Europe (Nuremberg). But it just felt out of place. So I nuked my town and started over 🙂 Now I have the base Barbarian and Boxington Castles out, tucked to the sidelines awaiting the THOH event.

I then designed a little section of town that resembles a walled off Zombie/Escape from NY fortress with parts of the Recycle Castle, the older, run down buildings, concrete walls and razor wire. The walls are in front of the storefronts creating really a really nice barricade feel. I know it’s not any more authentic than the CoC Castles but doesn’t stick out so much, and besides, who doesn’t like Walking Deadesque fortresses. Might even fit into the THOH event too 😉

  14. Anyone else sick of this event? It was kinda fun for a week, maybe two, but after that I started to avoid the game. It just felt to much like work… And I don’t like games like Clash of Clans to begin with. Here’s hoping the Halloween event is going to be better.

    • I think a LOT of players are tired of it. Just too long of an event…

The good news, it ends in 1 week. 1 more week and then it’s onto the next event! 🙂

  15. My Fort sensible is gone :0
    Can u help me?

  16. Just wondering how you are able to measure the specific point totals for the various categories for these and other similar posts? I’m only level 29, but haven’t ever seen a specific point total for those different conform ratings for either Springfield or Krustyland and therefore can’t see how they go up (or down) for various additions or tasks. Thanks.
