Halloween has arrived in Springfield!!!! WOO-HOO! And, as usual, EA doesn’t disappoint! We’ve got ourselves a fun update full of twists, turns, prizes and ALIENS! And the best news? Not a wheel or mystery box in sight! Now, with all the new Premium Halloween Items it can be a bit overwhelming trying to decide what you should add to your Springfield and what you should save your donuts on…but have no fear! That’s where we come in, to tell you what’s worth your donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Portal to Rigel 7 to YOUR Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button (or lack their of) let’s break down the pros and cons of adding Alien transporter to your Springfield!

What Does it Do?: Earns 6 Rigellians (little Aliens)/8hrs
Pros
-Earns extra Rigellians for you to squish in your town. More Aliens=more event currency!
-Animated
-Nice design to it…fits in well with other Alien themed THOH items.
Cons
-EXPENSIVE…
-Rigellians spawn at a fairly decent rate in your town as it is. This would just add 6more/8hrs
Final Thought:
Personally, I’m still on the fence with this one. I want to spend some more time seeing how the Rigellians are spawning in my town before I make a decision as to whether or not 6 more/8hrs would make a big different. 100 donuts is a LOT for such a small amount to spawn. However, I will be making a decision in the next day or so. With these types of items, in order for it to be worth it, you really have to buy within the first couple of days of the event. This way you can get the full potential out of the extra Rigellians spawning.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and this is one I’m split on…60/40 in favor of buying it. Whatever you decide just remember, this is a Limited-time item…so if you’re thinking about it make sure you make your decision prior to the Halloween Event Leaving our games on November 12th! (Also…if you’re thinking about it…honestly try to make a decision on it by the weekend. This way you really get the most bang for your buck 🙂 )

I just bought the portal after reading that some of you got rigellian’s after logging back in, but I suppose they caught on to that glitch because I am not getting anything. My rigellian’s don’t seem to regenerate at all unless it’s been a good 30 minutes or so and then only one or two at that time. 🙁 Nuts! Any ideas?
For me the portal has been endless aliens to squish. When I leave my town and come back, I have 6 new aliens to spawn. I have been able to do this non stop. Just figured it out 30 minutes ago and have a couple hundred new squishes already!! I hope it works the same for everyone!

Me too. Added a second and third today having bought one on the first day if the event and now everytime I log in I am getting 6 aliens on both. 36 probes each time. Exploit this while you can!
Well I wasn’t even on the fence on this one. I’ve been saving donuts for a while and snatched this up right when I saw it. Now it doesn’t produce nearly as many as I think it should, I’m also a HUGE Stargate fan and this is taken straight from that. Even down to the timer description of, “locking the chevrons”. Just couldn’t pass it up!
i bought it i got 30 donuts from a ufo and bought a few scratch offs even if it doesnt produce many aliens i like to have some of the holiday items in my town
My thinking with these items is that it’s not a big loss to wait until after the event is a 3rd of the way over with to decide if they’re worth it, since apparently the currency & goals sort of reset at that point. With the Stonecutters update I eventually started wishing I’d bought one of the pyramids or something back at the beginning of the event, but by then it was too late to catch up anyway. In this case it seems as though you might get behind and miss out on some of the earlier reward items, but still gain some advantage by buying the portal/raygun/etc later on.
One thing to keep in mind when deciding on the Portal to Rigel is that it gives you the cute lil fellas to squish, while you won’t get as many probes, as with the license you can get other treats like Candy bags, eggs, etc.
In addition, I for one like something tangiable with my purchase. The fact that the license will go away after the event was not appealing to me.

The payout on the aliens is rather insignificant (I may not say that on Nov 12 as I’m desperate to get the last prize) but it looks cool in my town. Actually thinking of buying 3 more as I have a design idea

The graphics are awesome. I’ve also noticed that the aliens tend to spawn ammo and bags more often than the ones that show up randomly.
I bought the Portal and it looks really cool. There is continuous animation and a great sound effect when you tap on it. It looks great next to Frink’s Lab and the Ray Gun. It’s pricey, but I’m sure it will earn $ after the event. I really regretted not getting the Ray Gun last time, so I’m happy it’s back. It’s a good deal with the crashed spaceship and Kodos.
Really torn between the ray gun and the portal.
The ray gun gets me: a ray-gun, a crashed ship, Kodos and a supply of rockets.
But the portal is a Stargate! It would look so cool in a forest clearing with the castle and medieval props nearby as a sort of reconstruction of Chulak (Teal’cs home planet).
Probably will go for the ray-gun. But the portal ….
