Candy time is back! For a this weekend (it looks like this ends Monday 10/27 at 0800GMT) you can purchase Candy (and nails) from the store! Of course to do so you’ll have to spend donuts, but they’re actually priced fairly well. (At least in my opinion anyway…)
Here’s what you can get:
It looks like all the prizes from the Gold and Silver Treat bags can be purchased…which is great if you’re struggling to collect Pumpkins or Chocolates! 🙂
Remember…this will disappear on 10/27 at 0800GMT (4 am EDT)…however it looks like it will be reappearing each weekend…like the Elixir.

I’m a regular STO player, averaging 1-3 logins per day. I have yet to spend any irl$ on the game, and Im happy not to.
During this Halloween update, I’ve noticed that many of my 30-50 friends are easily achieving the probe/raygun prizes, while I’m struggling to get to the mid-point monster.
Are they buying the upgrades with donuts (or a donut hack), or am I missing some key strategy?
More than likely they’re paying to upgrade…or they’re playing obsessively. Personally I’m able to get into my game every 4hrs. I’m ahead of Bunny’s Calendar but I haven’t finished it. It’s really all about how often you can get in and if you’re sending out Grem-Aliens and squishing everything you see…

That’s disappointing to know that the game design only allows paying players to achieve at that level. I know the game is to make EA revenue, but I’m still disappointed.
There are ways to get there with out paying…but not in 1-2 days of the new phase hitting.
I already crafted the Spooky House + Pumkin house. Anything else to craft beside walls and h.t.subject?

I wish we could buy broken fences! I’m actually doing fine getting chocolate bars, but I’m nowhere near getting enough fences to make the spooky house!
Hey does anyone know how to unlock the pumpkin house as I’ve opened the grand pumpkin but can’t get past the second part of the quest?
You’ve tapped the Pumpkin to clear Part 1? Part 2 Homer starts and it’s to craft a pumpkin…at that point it should be unlocked for you…
I’m 7 chocolate bars away from the grand pumpkin. I’m up to my ears in rotten eggs and candy corn- which I see as almost useless items. I’m going to get the grand pumpkin and the pumpkin house, then work on human test subjects, or maybe another spooky house. There’s a lot of luck involved for us freemium players.
Hi, do you have any idea on how I can craft the pumpkin house after crafting the Grand Pumpkin. It’s supposed to be triggered by part 2 of the questline (after making milhouse sit with the pumpkin) but it hasn’t done so yet. Any character that needs to be free to trigger it? Thanks in advance
No…Homer triggers Part 2. The Milhouse one is a different quest for the Pumpkin. Not part 2…so doing that won’t trigger the Pumpkin house. Make sure Homer is free and that’ll trigger the actual Part 2.
Just bought chocolates to make the great pumpkin; no regrets! His animation is great!
If anybody is curious, I currently need exactly 50 chocolate bars (and nothing else) to complete my Grand Pumpkin, and the donut rush cost is 25 donuts. That would be 50 donuts for 100 chocolate bars, which means that the store price of 45 donuts is 10% cheaper. So if all of the other candy types work similarly, you would be slightly better off buying candy in the store as opposed to just rushing the items. That is assuming, of course, you use all the candy and wouldn’t have extra that’d be wasted.

I was wondering about this myself. While you’re getting a slight discount by buying the candy directly, you’re also forced to buy it in set amounts, which may or may not leave you with extras that you don’t really need. I don’t think people have to feel like they have to rush and stock up on the candy, since rushing the crafting items isn’t that much worse of a deal and is considerably more convenient.
I need chocolate!!!!!!!! And no donuts to spare 🙁

What I need to buy is a ton of fences. That might be what keeps me from crafting the torture device I missed out on because of my vacation related delay getting started. Hopefully the price to buy it outright will eventually get down to a level I can’t refuse.
I just got enough candy for the Spooky House. I was able to get the Great Pumpkin yesterday. I think it helps that I have most of the kids ( still have not purchased Jimbo and the twins.) I also have Witch Marge trick or treating once a day and Uter and Dbase doing their treat jobs. The biggest thing is to NOT craft the spooky wall or the human test subjects until after you get the Spooky House and the Great Pumpkin. I would also look in your storage box for Halloween items you didn’t know were there. I found a Human Test Subject and 6 Spooky Walls in there that I did not craft. So either I picked them up during the game or they were left over from last year’s Halloween…
You win items in treat bags too.

I do not have the option to craft the pumpkin house yet. I only have the Grand Pumpkin and Spooky House available to craft and hoping will get it before the event ends as the chocolate bars are rare. I noticed here that some tappers have the pumpkin house to craft??? Am I missing something here?
It comes locked until you make the Grand Pumpkin.

EA posted a halloween guide today. One of the last things it says is that the “regilian Queen” is craftable! I hope this means that it will drop soon!!!

Just got the last of the chocolates I needed to craft the Grand Pumpkin today! Now I’ll save my bags until the 3rd phase of the event to get a boost on protein strands…
Will ….struggling to play the game every chance I can and just as I am collecting all my rewards I hit the wrong button and boom l lost six donuts I never changed my setting I always keep it to where it is to ask me if I want to spent my donuts!! Just not right who changed my settings? EA are you playing my game ? 😁😁😁😁😁

Odd. My confirm donut spend setting has stayed put since I first set it, but I do check it with every update, just in case.
I did manage to accidentally spend donuts speeding up a brown house the other day. I was frantically trying to get a very elusive grem-alien, hit the house he was near, hit the speed-up button, and hit the confirm button, all before I could mentally register that the screen had changed. Ouch.

I’ve been opening silver and gold bags for the tasks. I’m about 50 chocolates away from the grand pumpkin. Excited. I won’t spend donuts for the chocolate bars right now. If nearer the end, I’m still far from the pumpkin house, I might give in.
Im not spending any treat bag goodies until the final day, when ive saved everything up. Because of that, i haven’t crafted anything yet!
Be aware that, if you want the spooky house, Hugo has to go through several long tasks before it unlocks for crafting. If you do want both Hugo and the house, you’d probably be best off crafting Hugo at least a few days before the end of the prizes :-). I can’t comment on the pumpkins, because I have not got them yet.

Im still really liking the event since I didnt get to play last Halloween. But just a few moments ago, I broke down and bought the 100 candy bars. This is the first thing I’ve spent my doughnuts on that wasn’t a mistake before they added the ability to verify your purchase. Ive never spent real money on it, yet I feel like I need to take a scalding hot shower, Ace Ventura style. I couldn’t take that giant pumpkin mocking me anymore

Yep, all needed to make stuff can be bought… Except what I need the most: fences! I thought I was done with that since easter was over!

Yeah, I’m short on fences too, when I take into account how many I’ll need for the Rigellian Queen and Tribal Hut. I’m pretty sure EA did that on purpose to mock us for all our complaints about too many fences. (Too bad I can’t just smash some of those ugly Valentine’s Day fences I have in my inventory! Instant broken fences!)
At the rate I’m going, I don’t think I’ll manage to get the pumpkin house.
Maybe the Great Pumpkin.. But just barely in the remaining days of the event. It’ll be a struggle for the chocolate bars 😛
I’m about 85 fence pieces from getting the spooky house. So hopefully with enough treat bags and luck I can get it Early next week!
Nice job on all the updates! ! 👍 Im 50 chocolates away from getting the big pumpkin and should get that easily in the next 3 weeks.. I got my spooky house a couple days ago…anything xtra will just be bonus..btw I have received 6 human test subjects and my daughter has not gotten 1…strange?

It would be cool if they added the option to gift items to neighbors! I have 3 human test subjects but my sister doesn’t have any.
I really really need chocolate bars, like so bad! But as a fremium player I can’t justify spending that many donuts on them!! I’m saving them and currently have my eye on Barney (I got his Plow King skin last Christmas and really want to check it out)
I think i’ll never get the grand pumpkin.. Chocolates are impossible to earn!
I wish they offered broken fences, as that’s the one thing I never can find enough of in the bags. I have or can get plenty of everything else, but it’s looking like the Phase 3 items will be heavily dependent on those fences.
