Should I Spend Donuts on Greta and the Preparatory School?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

In the midst of all the aliens squishing and Ray Gun grabbing Level 46 has arrived in Springfield!  And with it yet another child of Springfield…Greta Wolfcastle!     Now I know you may be trying to decide if this stereotypical actor’s child  is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Greta to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this lonely rich girl to YOUR Springfield!

Greta Wolfcastle Produce a Film Springfield Prep School

Building/Decoration: Springfield Preparatory School
Character: Greta
Donut Price: 180 donuts
Dimensions: 7×11
Earns:
$175, 20xp/ 6hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Obedience +10

Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Premium character earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character
-Pretty decent payout on the building, great way to generate some extra cash in your town.
-Greta’s questline gets Wolfcastle involved in the action.  And we haven’t seen him involved in much lately!
-Greta has a task where she can earn Treat Bags for Halloween 2014

Cons:
-No Character Interaction after questline.
-Not voiced.
-Several of her tasks are indoors
-Extremely expensive for a character/building combo.

Final Thought:
Personally, if you have the donuts to spend, I say go for it.  Greta’s questline is pretty funny & she’s got the added bonus of being able to earn Treat Bags during Halloween!  Plus, it’ll get Wolfcastle involved in the action…and honestly ever since finishing his level it’s been a while since he’s been used in my town.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you Greta was a purchase I made right away!  And she’s been earning treat bags ever since!  However, this is NOT a Limited-Time Item so take your time with your thought process.  Greta will still be there in a few weeks.  So if you’re on the fence or worried about saving up your donuts relax..there’s no rush to get her

  1. Got her yesterday with a rebate of 50 donuts, even though she wasn’t in my vault this week.

  2. Just got her in my vault with a 45 doughnut return, so net I will only pay 135 doughnut. Still expensive but I am getting all the buildings and characters so I am glad this one appeared in my vault.

I wish, the “Should I buy” are updated with the vault purchases. Obviously, people won’t know what is my particular vault, but I am sure, they have a list of what is offered & can do a quick update such as ” with a 45 doughnut rebate, I would now buy” or “even with the rebate, I would still pass”. I have used this site so much and since I found it, I have increaded my XP over 150% in only 2 months. Also, learned how to xp farm, so I don’t spend as much lol.
    Thanks!

    She have 2 additional tasks:
-1hr Write a Rambling Letter (Preparatory School)
-8hrs Text Children of Other Stars (Wolfcastle’s Mansion)

    Both non-visible

  4. Does her 12-hour task require the film set?

  5. Has there been one of these for the Drive-In Theatre and the alien, and I just missed it?

How much time is left in this event ? Is it worth me still getting the lincense ??

    • It’s over the 12th. You’re a little more than halfway through…you’ll get an extra 90/day..which is an extra 1,260 items for the rest of the event. It’s hard to say if that’s completely worth it. Personally…I think you should save you donuts for other items 🙂

  7. Where is her 1 hour task??

  8. Being a completists, I bought her immediately 😄😄😄
I might take the opportunity to comment as well on both Halloween and Level 46 while I am at it……..
Firstly, Halloween. I am enjoying the event. I like the opportunity to earn new prizes. I just got the hover copter with nearly three days to go before the change over so will be collecting treat bags to get ahead for Long Protein Strings. I have to admit I am struggling with not buying missiles as I have an insatiable urge to blow up every UFO I see in case it holds 30 doughnuts. I am controlling the urge with great difficulty and try to console myself with the fact that I have earned 90 free sprinklies so far (which will assist with Christmas purchases). I do like the phased approach as it will keep folks interested for the duration of the event. I also apologise to the neighbours I haven’t been able to drop Gremalien’s in. I don’t seem to get many and have been trying to “share” them around. I’ll be holding on to eggs now until the next phase so may have enough to give a few to everyone.
Level 46 bought some additional tasks which has added some variety to the repetitive trick or treating. I also got the Bouncy Castle today which has pride of place in my school area (reminiscent of school fetes anyone?). This is something else for the kids to do once trick or treating is over. I also love Nelson’s Mums tasks and Dr Nick sampling Medical …….
A big hello again to Seapeach. So lovely to see you again.
Finally, hats off and a bow to our Fearless Leader Alissa, Bunny and Wookiee (chiming in between school and work) for everything you do for us 😄😄😄😄😄

    • Great assessments! And I too have to fight the buying Ammo urge!

And thank you for the kind words! 🙂 Will be happy to have Wookiee back soon…just in time for my trip to a certain house of mouse 😉

      • See, meanwhile I have somewhere around 30+ in ammo, and only see a UFO to shoot down once or twice per DAY…and even then, it seems like that’s only as long as I let aliens build up in my town then go through my neighbors without tapping on any aliens first…. I’ve had a few others confirm similar stories… Seems like it’s more like a ratio of number of friends and time-lapse rather than anything as stated. Makes me sad… All this ammo and nobody to shoot it at.

    • I’ve bought ammo a handful of times even bought the single one for 5 donuts cause I had a feeling…got 50 ray guns. I’m 400 away from the copter stopped opening gift bags a few days ago have over 100 now and about 90 Grem-Alien eggs. Unfortunately not opening gifts bags has drastically decreased my ammo reserve I’m so tempted to open em but I kniw in 3 days it’ll pay off.

  9. Voiceless, obscure character, very expensive, poorly tasked, non-animated trick-or-treating… hmm, nope, I’ll pass. I finally gave in and bought Sherri & Terri to help with collecting bags, though. A funny questline doesn’t make up with lacking good tasks in the long run. I usually put my characters all on the same duration so that everyone is free at the same time to proceed with new quests. Having nothing below 4h is a massive oversight, IMHO.

  10. Got it right away. Really like the look of the school. It does stink that she’s missing 1 hr and 8 hr tasks, oh well. I placed the school in a wooded area with pine trees surrounding it.

  11. I can’t see her in my store at all… Any idea why that might be?

  12. I have her – got her in the first few days she was out – and I think she’s totally worth it. The extra treat bags is a real nice bonus, and I agree that her story is funny. The school also goes really well if you have a “rich” district.

  13. Thanks for an article with the Conform-o-Meter status on the building.

I bought this combo. I love the look of the building. Greta’s quest line has been entertaining. Yay more treat bags.

My only disappointment is Greta’s lack of a 1hr task, but c’est la vie.

  14. I need more friends how do I get more friends other than the people that I knowif you know ******

  15. Why do they always skimp on the tasks with premium characters? No 1 hr 2 hr or 8 hr quest is a huge con! I was going to buy her, but I dont think its worth it now, its a good thing I always wait for your “should I buy” posts before i make any major decisions.

  16. Considering Lisa is the only playable little girl character in all of Springfield (Maggie’s an NPC baby, Shauna’s a toughie teenager, and the Spuckler kids are basically NPCs, so I don’t count Whitney), I felt I had no choice but to buy Greta.

As for where I put the Prep School, I actually did some redesigning of my town. The “haw haw, the Elementary School is right next to the nuclear plant” joke had long run its course, so I decided to create a special “school row” one street over from the mayor’s office. A small playground area next to Otto’s bus, then behind and to the north is the elementary school, then the high school, and finally the prep school from left to right.

  17. I know it’s kinda pricey but I wanted another kid for treat bags and I like the look of the school. I bought this convo right away. Not very far in the quest line, but so far no regrets.

  18. Definitely tempting somewhere down the line, but I’ve been failing to resist the microtransactions lately, and don’t want to pile on now. That said, the Drive-In Theater was totally worth it. Hilarious questline, and being able to play the different movies is awesome.

  19. Simpsonsforever

Invested in Greta glad I did and the tasks are pretty funny, and a realy nice looking building, a great addition to my town. Most of the things added to simpsons are pretty cool. And thankfully, unlike Family Guy Quest, plenty of room to place them.

  20. I would get her but she’s not voiced and as I understand it the building is not animated.
