I still see a lot of players panicking that they just don’t seem to keep up with the totals. So I am hoppin on in here with a breakdown of ways you can earn the Long Protein Strings available in your game each day.
All the information is very similar as it was each round. The more time you spend in your game, the more kids you have to trick or treat, and the more bags you collect will all contribute to YOUR individual results.
So you want those new Phase 3 Personal Prizes? Not sure how though? Let’s break this down a bit.
LIL RIGELLIAN ALIENS LONG PROTEIN STRINGS
These lil aliens are running, giggling, and possessing people all over your town. So what do you do to make the most of them? You play at a pace that suits YOU.
The Lil Rigellians spawn 1 every 5 minutes in your town for a MAX of 50.
That is 12 Lil Rigellian Aliens every hour.
Every 4 hrs and 10 mins, your town will MAX at 50.
What on earth does this all mean? Well, it means that you really can wait up to just over 4 hours before returning to your game to squish Rigellians, and still get the full impact of the 50 Squishes. (You just got to give the game a few moments to sync up and all the lil Rigellians will come to where you are in the game. Just stay in that spot a few mins and you will see.) Squishing Rigellians pays off in many ways, they drop Treat Bags and Grem-Alien Eggs too. The Treat Bags could even have MORE Grem-Alien eggs. So just more and more chances of MORE Long Protein Strings.
Each lil Rigellian Squished gives you 5 Long Protein Strings. So 250 Long Protein Strings in just over 4 hours.
To make it a lil easier on Math…let’s just say you go in every 4 hours. So 48 Rigellians every 4 hours, which translates into 288 Rigellians a day, which will in turn give you 1440 Long Protein Strings daily.
The daily amount you want to hit is at least 1242 Long Protein Strings. So some time spent daily in your game just squishing lil Rigellians is plenty to hit that goal.
So let’s say you may not be able to make it in your game that often, no worries. Still PLENTY more places to earn them…Again this will all depend on YOU and YOUR game play.
NEIGHBOR LIL RIGELLIAN LONG PROTEIN STRINGS
Every 24 hours you are allotted 90 actions (or taps if you will) in your neighbors. (This tap will be subtracted from every time you squish a Lil Rigellian, Shoot down a UFO if you got a glitch, or happen to cross a non updated neighbor and tap their $$ icons.) So make sure you use them wisely and to the best of your ability. ONLY squish Rigellians first.
90 actions daily that award you ONE Long Protein String each. So 90 Long Protein Strings daily from just visiting your neighbors.
RIGELLIAN HUNTING LICENSE LONG PROTEIN STRINGS
For those that want to spend a lil extra money, turn over 90 of your Pink Sprinklies and pick up the Rigellian Hunting License. What will it do? It will double your payouts on Neighbor Long Protein Strings. So instead of 1 per 90 actions, you will earn 2 per 90 actions. So 180 Long Protein Strings a day. That is 90 more Long Protein Strings Daily added to your total.
GREM-ALIEN LONG PROTEIN STRINGS
Those odd hybrids of creatures running a million miles around your town can stir up quite an annoyance. Trying to catch them scurrying off can be quite the chore, but if you DO catch them…you split the winnings with yourself and the Neighbor that sent them. If you let them run til they fade out in 4 hours, you get nothing from them. I personally say to tap the Grem-Aliens and share in the profits with your Neighbor. 2 Long Protein Strings each.
UFO LONG PROTEIN STRINGS
If you are lucky, you can nab an extra 50 Long Protein Strings from one of the Rigellian UFO’s. There are also many more awesome prizes you can get from them, the Long Protein Strings are just a nice boost if you get them now and then. Also, if you are MAX on your FP…keep tapping neighbors as you will find a free pink sprinkly here n there.
TRICK OR TREAT BAG LONG PROTEIN STRINGS
Many of you have noticed that you were able to win Ray Guns and Probes in the Treat Bags, well the same goes for the Long Protein Strings now. They just swapped out the Phase item each round. These will vary depending how many you get to pop out from Rigellian squishes, neighbor visits, Spooky House (if you have it), and the UFO’s. These extra bumps to your Daily Total can really help you get there faster, but not all required. There is a really good chance you will get some Long Protein Strings from each bag you collect. So send all kids (and Witch Marge if you have her) Trick or Treating to get those baggies. You can earn around 3 Long Protein Strings each when you get them.

As you can see, the odds of getting MORE Long Protein Strings will increase if you send the 8 hour task Trick or Treaters out 2 to 3 times a day and the 16 hours at least once a day if you have them.
PORTAL RIGEL 7 LONG PROTEIN STRINGS
This is also another alternative for those that do not mind spending 100 Pink Sprinklies to boost the amount of Lil Rigellians in your town with the Portal to Rigel 7. This lil stargate will offer up an additional 6 Rigellians into your town every 8 hours. You will need to make sure your town has room first before releasing them. 90 extra Long Protein Strings Daily may or may not be worth it to everyone, but it is another option to boost your counts daily.
RIGELLIAN HUT LONG PROTEIN STRINGS
This item now available to craft will not only add to the look of your Springfield, but also give you 3 extra Rigellians every 24hrs. It may not be much, but an extra 15 Long Protein Strings daily per Rigellian Hut may help give you that edge you need to get by.
So there you have it. MANY ways to easily hit the daily targets and earn the Personal Prizes for Phase 3. YOU just need to put in the time and effort. Where are YOU on the Long Protein String count? Yup! Usually I can get most, or all prizes, but this time we really have to work for it. Guess games were originally things kids played, but now we hold onto our childhood because we can, without it being overly public and then being ridiculed for immaturity. Yet we have become quite open and accepting of adults who game nowadays. Perhaps because it helps to distract us from the practices of our governments and corporations. Who knows. I still enjoy chilling with TSTO and FGTQFS 😉

So I have about 3200 strings my girlfriend has 4700 and we play roughly the same amount of time she’s level 24 I’m level 45 what am I doing so wrong 🙁
This is probably the most useful post of the Halloween event! I’ve been way too lazy to do the math myself and have missed the last two phases’ final prizes by about 600 each. Thanks so much Bunny!!!
I just wanted to clarify something, I live in Australia, so all the times are messed up for me… But with the calendar totals, they are approx where you should be by midnight that date US time?? I have got the ‘diet’ sign (awesome btw) and really want the burns UBO… Also wanted the dounut torture device but was still a noob and missed out, I think I’ve run out of time to craft it now too 🙁

I’m a little ahead of schedule but feel like I’m behind because by this time, I was ahead by at least a day in the other phases. I should be getting the diet sign by tomorrow morning. 🙂
Be careful when squishing aliens. I have lost at least 100 protein strands when squishing. I will take out 3 and instead of getting 15 strands I only get 10. So, I have been squishing slowly and not so many at a time.
Squeaky Voice Teen also hits trick or treating and I don’t see him in the above list. He’s a premium character, so 16 hours.

Sorry if off topic but is anyone else having a glitch where you do the scratcher and then the game kicks you out and you have to log back in? It happens to me about 50% of the time.
Yes, I did but it stopped a couple of days ago. I didn’t get logged off but my game crashed 🙁

Well I talked to EA about it and they suggested the usual. Close all other apps, try shutting off and restarting device, or finally uninstalling and reinstalling game. So far today I haven’t had any issues, I only tried the first two things.
Happened to me, reloaded, rescratched, happened again.. Reloaded, rescratched. On the third try prize was 3 axes and thats the prize i got to keep…
Yes, I posted about a week ago on this in a diff thread. . I am getting the game crashes about 50% of the time when claiming Scratch-R prizes and when crafting Halloween prizes (which isn’t often since I don’t get to do that very often).
Is anyone getting a weird noise & a black pop up when tapping Itchy & Scratchy heads to do a Scratch-R? It says “The Store, retrieving items” & the game freezes, but doesn’t crash. Happened Sun before last multiple times & a few times the preceding weeks. Seems to come very early or late in the day.
I also got seriously messed up the Sun. before this past Sun. where the game reverted to the very beginning with Homer playing his myPad in the nuke plant control room. Logged in & out multiple times, could not get it back to correct level ( I am level 46, been playing ~ 2.5 yrs). Finally had to delete & reinstall app. I could understand it if I was logged out & it thought I was a new anonymous player, but I was logged in and there is no way I should be at the very beginning.

Me too. What a cruddy glitch we got, why couldn’t it be the constant alien to the face glitch.
I am just glad that the U.B.O. (at least according to the posts here) is NOT another useless npc. As a skin/costume, it can be fun AND get some in-game duckets. Unfortunately, if you are not right on top of the minimum daily quotas (or really close) then you can feel even more discouraged. That’s when the strategy of hoarding eggs and bags—even as early as Phase1—was a reasonable option for me, however selfish that may seem. So, I did the minimum activity for the DTD (which now stands lifeless and rusty), and deliberately fell short in phase 2, because the UBO is the only prize I really want.
I hope I frackin’ get it!!

I am about 300 LPS ahead of the calender. I got a boost by saving treat bags and eggs which was helpful. I am able to get on a few times but I actively tap 3 times a day. Even without that boost in the beginning I think I would still be on par. This phase feels much easier than the first in which I almost didn’t get the last prize. I do understand all the stress going around but this even defiantly feels much easier than last year’s.
Since they were premium items, I did not get the hunting license, ray gun, or portal. What I did do was to get more (premium) trick or treaters–witch Marge, Kearney, Jimbo, and the twins. That strategy has worked pretty well for me and I am on track with protein strings. Can’t say I am that thrilled with the prizes, but it has still been fun squishing aliens, opening treat bags, and trading gremaliens with my friends.
I wish I had learned/realized the hoarding strategy earlier because in the end, I have 0 connection to either the copter or Dozer. All those wasted ammo and bags and little chance at getting g EBO. Oh well, tap and learn… Hugo was the primo prize this event IMO.

Beacause i usually played every 6 hours thanks to that bank but now im not so sure to be able to play every 4 hours :c

I feel that doing the math for a 4hr interval, assuming a person doesn’t sleep (or wakes up in the middle) and can hit every time is unrealistic to the point of silliness. I would much rather assume that one is going to sleep 8-10 hrs and probably miss one right on either side of the boundary due to not scheduling life around perfect hits on the intervals.
While the running totals are very useful to know if one is ahead/behind, what would also be great is sort of minimum number of logons per day to get all prizes. Done separately for freemium and varying donut levels.
For example, looks like we need 1242 proteins a day to be on target. That would be squashing 249 rigellians per day. In turn that is 5 visits a day, spaced at least 4:10 apart. Basically a perfect play assuming you sleep 8 hours.
So now we look at other freemium sources. If we do the daily 90 friend-actions, we only need to hit 230.4 rigelians for 4.6 visits. Doesn’t actually reduce the number of visits per day, but gives some buffer.
Last sources of freemium are variable are: bags, gremaliens, UFOs.
The later two supplied via bag prizes and random squish bonuses.
For generating bags, for same reason as above I would want to assume twice daily for 8hr kids. There are 8 freemium kids: Lisa, Martin, Bart, Nelson, Rodd, Todd, Ralph, Milhouse. So 16 bags a day.
At this point I wish I would need the odds of a bag/germaliens from rigelian as well as 3x protein from bags.
Without these variable sources, a freemium player either needs to give up sleep, or hope for enough ammo to shoot down 3-4 alien spaceships with proteins every day.
When there was a bank one could probably do 3 visits a day, but now on needs about 4.5 visits at least 4:05 apart.
I think you’re kind of missing the point. There’s no set number of logins that will get the prizes, just different options worth different numbers of points, and some “potential” items. I definitely don’t log in every 4 hours, but I log in when I can, and on days I play less frequently, I try to get my full 90 points from neighbors. If I’ve gotten LPS from treat bags, and been able to log in regularly, I might skip a night of neighbor tapping.

No, I think he/she has the point exactly. What he/she describes is exactly what I did at the start of stages 2 and 3.
I’m a freemium player and I’m fairly new so only have 4 kids to go out trick or treating. I needed to know how often I had to log on to get the main prizes so went through almost the exact same process described to work it out. The same process, with a tweak, can be used to work out how your tapping is impacted if you have a day off.
It’s going to give different results for everybody (based on lifestyles and influenced by how much you want the prizes) but it’s exactly the approach that I would recommend.
I estimated you could miss about 5-6 hours worth of Rigellians and still get the final prize. Here’s my math–
14,900-(90*12)=13,820 (assumes you get all 90 friends every day)
13,820/5=2,746 Total Rigellians to squish over course of event
2,746/12=230 Minimum Rigellians to squish every day
12*24=288 max rigellians per day
288-230=58 Rigellians you don’t need
58/12=4.8 hours of rigellians to miss.
If you take into account the gremaliens and treat bags, you could probably even round up to 6 hours a day to miss.
Now I still think this schedule punishes working people, especially those folks with shift work or the types of jobs where they can’t be putzing on their phones during work hours. I will be able to make it, but I work in a cubicle farm and I do a bit during work hours. But that’s something to take up on the ea forum….
I’m kinda over this event. I didn’t get everything in the second round so I just feel behind. I felt so much time and valuable taps were wasted waiting for the next phase to begin. If it was continuous I feel as if I would have gotten all the prizes. Just bummed….
I agree, I’m really disappointed in this Halloween event. Before October came around, I was so excited because I saw all the cool stuff my friends had in their neighborhood only for this event hit and everything costs donuts. I also play the Family Guy game and you have no idea the amount of stuff I was able to get by using in game “Halloween” currency.
I’ve really enjoyed the event, got a lot of things I’ve been eyeballing since I started playing last Christmas. I’ve earned a ton of free donuts and have had no issue earning prizes, already crafted everything I need. Now its just spooky walls for the payout bonus. I have about 7500 lps and am sitting on 70 gremalien eggs.
Heres a little tip. Wish I would have said something earlier. This is where inactive neighbors are actually handy. Go to very bottom of your neighbor rankings. Drop your eggs in those towns 10 at a time. You get 40 if they dont tap within 4 hours. Really adds up if youre behind.
I figured this out during the second phase it has helped me a lot since the majority of my friends have been very active this event. With two of them not actively tapping I get 80 whenever I can drop the full egg amount.
So awesome that others have that figured out too! I actually got out a pad of paper and pen, and wrote down my friends at from the bottom of my leaderboards list, and started dropping eggs in their towns! I also wish I’d said something sooner…

Hi, have just experienced the most awesome glitch! I click on Bart to trick or treat but no menu comes up, however, he has a gremalien on his head though and it re-appears in about 5 seconds, and again and again, continuously for the last few hours!

My long Protein String count is at 6863 ! Only 737 to go if my Math is correct to get that little Green man!! I hoarded 206 T or T Bags for 3rd phase, and that helped a lot! And for those starting to panic, it also depends on your amt of Friends you have! I have the maximum of 100 friends plus The Other Springfield! So 101 works real well and it is Very Time Consuming, and is ok if not working or as for me, retired, which is ok! Having lots of the friends is Very Beneficial! I have 53 waiting in line for getting into my neighborhood, but everyone is on board, so keeps me busy visiting!! Good Luck to everyone and hope u get the prizes u r striving for! stepingstair. :). I like the structure of the event. I’m premium but not a completionist. I get about 80% of the stuff. But this event required minimal donuts to achieve all the prizes. If you got the hunting license you were all set for the event with no additional spending. My only issue is that the prizes were weak. There’s been way better THOH stuff that thy could’ve put in the game.
Doing a late night tap before I go to sleep and I’m falling asleep with my phone in my hand. That’s not good, but my town is clear of rigellians at least for a few hours. Knowing my wonderful body clock, I’ll wake up at 4am as usual even though I don’t need to this week. Useful for extra tapping though.
At least it looks like I can catch up easier on this phase than the last one.
I agree. I don’t know why but this event seemed very time consuming which is leaving a bad taste in my mouth b/c I won’t earned all the items I usually get. I guess I’m spending too much time collecting money from buildings and tasks from the other MANY characters I have. I loved the story lines and their idea to keep everyone tapping until the end but I’m bummed I couldn’t spend more time going to my friends and zapping spaceships. Or is felt like the payout was WAY too low, IMO.
PS, what was the Android Update for? Hotfixes?? It showed up about 20mins ago or so….

Am I the only one who thought this Halloween event was useless? For what possible reason have I been upgrading the sick with the nail in it? All we’ve been doing is trick or treating with very minor random tasks peppered here and there.
Halloween in Family Guy has been way more fun. I just need Mr. Weed and I’ve got everything!

To be quite honest, I only wanted a few items this year as I got most of them last year. Hugo, Spooky House, Rigellian Queen/Hut/Shrubs (annoyed I can’t just make a ton), U.B.O. The Super Collider and Black Hole I also wanted since it was released prior to me playing the game. For players just starting…it may have been better.
I like the idea of crafting…just think the execution needed to be tweaked a lil more. Getting probes, guns, strings are simple. Candy items not so much.
Board n nail increase your “squishin” radius. I liked it as I got a ton of Rigellians in one tap. So in n out of game faster.
I agree with Jason. And I hate how EA went back to the random generate crap with the candy like they always do. Its like they cant help themselves but have something in the game that is random generation. I play every two hours every day of the event and im only at 388 chocolate bars. Ive had enough. Ill go to one of the donut sites, get the UBO and be done with this event.
Thru their help desk? I doubt they will listen, but sure.
So i take it that the 30 rigellion bank isn’t in effect for the this phase of the event.
If anyone needs extra rigellions, you could always get up in the middle of the night and squish some. 🙁

The bank was pulled a while back. No explanation from EA. I don’t think it ever worked right.
Unfortunately it did little to stop my stress over this event. There is a 9-10 hour window 5 days a week where I can not access the game. Making it impossible to check every 4 hours. Logging in 5 or 6 times a day, doing my neighbors every day and clicking on the Grem-aliens show up does not seem to help me much. I am still 600-1000 behind and not gaining any ground. I can’t even get anything good out of my bags to do any real crafting.
Please give them feedback on stuff like that. 😉
