Hey Howdy Hey Alien Squishing Tappers!
Well….unless you’ve been living under a rock you know that Halloween has arrived in Springfield! A dark haze has over taken the streets of Springfield and Aliens are on the attack! By now we’re all busy squishing and stopping those aliens dead in their tracks….and earning as many Long Protein Strings as we can!
With this event EA is trying something new (for them) and releasing items/prizes in phases. Two prizes each phase, three phases, for a total of 6 prizes all together. For the third phase, which lasts 12 days and ends 11/12 (0800GMT), you can win 2 prizes by collecting Long Protein Strings. The first prize awarded at 6,000 Long Protein Strings is the DIET Sign.
Let’s take a closer look at this odd sign, and just what happens when you win it for your town…

Once you’ve collected 6,000 Long Protein Strings the DIET Sign will automatically be awarded to you and you’ll see this popup:
Much like Friendship Prizes, if you’re visiting a neighbor when you hit the 6,000 Protein String mark this message will still popup and your DIET Sign will be waiting for you in your inventory once you get back to your Springfield.
The DIET Sign will be placed in your inventory, so you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it. Just tap on the “use” icon to place it in your Springfield:
Once you’ve won the sign you’ll see a task popup in your task book (no dialogue will kick it off). The task is…

Homer: What is that? No! Noooooooo! Please God, no!

Homer: AHHHHHHHH!
So here’s the deal with the DIET Sign:
-Shows DIE until tapped. Once tapped the tree moves and DIET is shown.
-It’s 1×5 in size.
-No questline associated with it
-When tapped the wind blows as the tree moves
-Improves Obedience by 10 Points
So that about covers all the details on this scary sign!

So happy it’s animated the way that it is. Pretty much every time I pass it while collecting in town, I have to tap it and let out a little “hehe”.

I am quite behind in the protein calendar. Maybe you could write about that, what should we do to get the most of the event, for those of us who aren’t getting the alien Burns 🙂
Just wondering, but why do you have the castle in your inventory?
It’s just for show of where to find things. Also, some people didn’t like them.
Love the Diet sign! Billboards make a nice little way to make the town feel more “real”. Next, I want the billboard that appears in the Simpsons into every week before they show Bart writing on the chalkboard. I want it to show the same image as that weeks episode, or at least change constantly. Make it happen!
I think it fits right in with my “efficient life changes” zone – hospital, retirement community and graveyard all next to each other. And now a billboard encouraging health: DIE T…

Chatonka here! Got diet sign and put it on my highway. TY! I got 100 neighbors but I think 50 are just a and b games … and c games. What do I do?
I have just unlocked it and it’s nice just two small annoyances
1. I think it’s a little too small for a bill board
2. The wind animation looks a little ‘forced’ to me…
I’m super stoked to finally have the diet sign easily one of the best prizes of the event. It’s been killing me waiting to get it ever since Halloween first dropped. The dialogue was pretty spot on from the episode which imo is the funniest part of that episode altho it’s hard to beat mr burns weekly routine to stay alive lol cracks me up everytime.
Love it! So happy to finally be crafting cool, awesome prizes from great episodes after those phase 2 duds.

I absolutely LOVE this sign! What a great episode!
I was waiting to tell about this bug. I just wanted to take advantage of it before making it public an having it removed. The Rigelian portal finishes it’s circle as soon as you main city screen goes to check neighbours. Each time I returned the portal It had the alien logo ready to spawn more aliens.
I also noticed the porta had a visible bug. On the left side a part always overlaped anything that passed by.
Let me know if any of you got this too.
There’s another thread around here where someone reported getting more aliens from the portal each time they came back to their city.

I don’t know if I understand what you’re saying as to how the portal is spawning more aliens. It hasn’t happened for me. Though I have seen the visual glitch though with portal controls overlapping characters that walk pass it.
There is nothing special. All you have to do is go into the town. Spawn the aliens that would come out. If you tap again you will notice that you have to wait 8 hours (I think), so instead of waiting,go to the screen that shows all the friends towns. Go back to your town, and the portal is ready to spawn. You can repeat as many times as you want.

I would love to know how this was used in the show. But I do think it is a cute little addition to my town.
