Friendship Level 12: Unlocking the Little Black Box

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers,

How are my favorite Addicted Tappers doing today?   Racking up those FP’s by visiting your neighbors?  Just a reminder, remember to help out your fellow neighbors and clear those handshakes!  Are you in need of more Tapping Friends?  Remember you can always find friends on our Add Friends Page (and here for ones who pledge not to vandalize you)…the best (and only way) to submit your Add Me requests on TSTO Addicts!

So with the Level 47 Update EA also gave us the 12th (and 13th) Social Currency Event Prize…Little Black Box!  An all new Airport Bar for your Springfield!  So now my friends let’s break down this 12th Friendship Prize.  Just want to remind you all with this update it’s important to remember to SLOW DOWN.  There’s no rush to get the FP’s, so take your time and enjoy it!  🙂

Anywho…Little Black Box is unlocked once you’ve unlocked Mr. Teeny AND earned an additional 2,500FP…so many of you should be unlocking it sometime very soon (depending on how many friends you have).  So what happens when you unlock this building?  Does it do anything?  Are there tasks for Characters in it?  What about a questline?  Well let’s answer all of your questions by taking a closer look at this Airport Bar now…

The Little Black Box

Once you’ve completed Friendship Level 11 and earned an additional 2,500 FP you’ll unlock the Little Black Box and you’ll see this message popup:

FP Little black box

Once you return to your Springfield you’ll find the Little Black Box in your Inventory. You will have to go into your inventory to unlock it completely.  It will not automatically be in your Springfield.

littleblackboxinventory

Once unlocked and placed it will take 24hrs to build.  And the Little Black Box is 4×7 in size.

Once in your Springfield it will earn you $120, 12xp/6hrs.

And that’s all there is to this little Airport Bar!  No questline, no dialogue, no character interaction…just a little bar for your Springfield.

Now that you’ve completed Level 12, what’s next?  Well it’s onto Level 13 and earning 5,000 FP for Stewart Duck.  What does that mean exactly?  Basically the same thing it meant before only a level higher

Well that’s in my Friends.  What do YOU think of the Little Black Box making it to the game?  Have you unlocked it yet?  Did you earn it via FP or did you spend donuts to get it faster?  Were you excited they added it to the game?  Sound off in the comments below…you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. Carl (hopinf im not mixing the characyera up) now has a two hour task with it

  2. I have only just unlocked level 11 FP been slow since only recently acquired any neighbours. I told my pal I was visiting my virtual neighbours on Springfield she suggested that I leave my house and speak to real neighbours. Lol

  3. A new building that generates XP &:$ but doesn’t take up space
    (that’s a plus)

Friend items take longer to obtain (remember when friend items were 100,50,25 points a click? Me too, miss it, this 10,5,4,2,1 points is a drag)

No worries, no hurries, its fun having Matt Groening in the game

    • They were never that. Ever. The numbers have remained the same since social FP was released.

    • I think it’s funny that you say that…I got the Little Black Box within about three days and I’m on track to get the next Friend prize sometime today. I think that’s pretty quick! (I’m actually looking forward to going back to getting 3x the $$ and XP and, especially, the occasional free donuts you get when your at the max FP level.)

  4. Ive unlocked it but i couldnt find it in my inventory

  5. It’s a cute black building! Looks great next to my strip club lol.

  6. Got this at the weekend in my towns – has been placed by Moe’s and O’Flanagans pub in my main town to form a little drinking zone. Pleased to have something else earning some money – but shame it doesn’t have a character quest option for drinking as an alternative to Moe’s! Thanks also for confirming which rating it increases!
Bottoms up, chin chin & pass the pork scratchings!

    Simon

  7. Coincidentally, I had just unlocked it on Monday night. Now I just need an airport to go with it. I’ll settle for the ‘Up, Up and Buffet!’ restaurant to simulate one in my Springfield if EA ever offers it again. Yard Sale perhaps? Next Valentine’s Day maybe? Who knows? It might work well with the Hover-copter from the last event.

  8. I like that it’s small and earns money, but I do wish it were a tad more exciting and/or aesthetically interesting. However, it certainly is far better than the Capitol City Goofball friendship prize, which has no value and looks stupid wandering around my Springfield (unless you happen to have the stadium, perhaps), so he’s related to my inventory. I would be fine having him wander around Krustyland, since he’d fit in there as one of the wandering mascots, but he can’t be placed there. 😡

  9. I do appreciate any additional buildings, if they suck store em, only ones I’ve done that with were the 2 hideous castles.

  10. Any idea which rating this contributes to? Gluttony? Consumerism?
    Thanks!

    • Consumerism +10

      • Oh, well then that makes me like it even better! it’s always hard to increase the consumerism rating, without having an ugly Kwik-E-Mart farm or something.

      • Consumerism?!? That’s both awesome and surprising… Thought for sure it’d be Gluttony like Moe’s.

Lots of new Consumerism buildings lately… Fantastic!

I think I’ll try getting rid of a couple of my excess KEMs.

  11. Happy to have this in my town just for the reminder to one of my favourite episodes. Pretty much just for the moment when Homer realises the lesbian bar he is in has no fire exit “enjoy your death trap ladies!”

  12. I kind of like this building. It’s better than Mr. Teeny. We already had him in the game, with the same task he has now with Krusty. Only now when I cycle through my characters giving out tasks, by the time I get to Teeny I’ve already sent Krusty to do something else. He should have been given more than ONE task (even Stampy has two). So poor Mr Teeny has just sat in my inventory since I got him. 🙁 PETA would be angry.

    • Pro Tip: If you put a character (Like Krusty) into storage and then take them back out, that puts them at the end of the character finder list. So if you Store Krusty and take him back out, you’ll always get to Mr. Teeny first. I did that with Apu to make Manjula more useful and Bart for Stampy.

    • You can change the order of the characters by putting them in inventory, then taking them out. (By the way, you don’t need to wait until you get to Mr. Teeny to send him out with Krusty…if you scroll down Krusty’s task list, you can pick the “Walk Mr. Teeny” one there and Mr. Teeny will go with.)

It’s funny you say that though, since I use Mr. Teeny as a kind of place marker…I always make sure that his icon is at the end of my cycle, so I know I’ve sent everyone out on tasks I’ve reached him. (I frequently have to move him in and out of inventory to keep him last in the “betting order.”)

    • It’s better to set walk mr teeny task as it earns $840 whereas krusty only earns $600 for a 24 hour task. But if money is not an issue for you than don’t bother. Also I stored krusty in the inventory once just do that mr. Teeny’s task comes before krusty.

  13. Maybe one day they will give us the Springfield Airport to go with it.

  14. It’s nice that it’s a 6-hour building.I like to have buildings with shorter time spans close to the landing spot so that Friends coming to tap have some variety to see and the Little Black Box is at least that. A break from brown houses and Kwik-E Marts.

  15. I achieved Mr Teeny before the last update but now although he appears in my Springfield he isn’t showing as obtained in the list of friendship prizes although it says I’m working on level 12?

  16. I think it would be cool if, whenever they introduced a new building, they added at least one character task to that building. They could even reserve the 20 hour or 16 hour task slot for that (the way that Kang & Kodos and Milhouse got new permanent 20 hour tasks with the Halloween prizes. It would be a way to feature all those building animations we only got to see in that one event, and doesn’t seem like it would be a lot of additional programming.

  17. I was really disappointed with it. It is another building and all but it would be nice if a character used it.For those who do not have it, you are not missing much.

  18. If this is an Airport Bar, does that mean there is an Airport to go with it? Have I missed that one?

    • No airport…don’t worry you haven’t missed anything 🙂

    • Somewhere around here I saw a screenshot of one — not an official airport, of course, but someone used Up, Up, and Away, plus other decorations to create something that looks like an airport. I’m sure this building will be placed close by.

      • Correction: Up Up & Buffet

      • I made my own airport to go with the bar. Just made a landing strip with the pavement, but barriers at the end and a couple of stop signs. Then put cones along side the runway, a couple of parking lots nearby, a gas pump and put the nuclear shelter in there for good measure. I surrounded the whole thing with barbed wire and also put in a weather vane for some ‘technical equipment’.

  19. Is there going to be a thanksgiving mini update or something? With all balloons as returning items along with Tribal chief + Casino, Sacagawea Lisa, Turkey, Casino sign, Mayflower, etc. Along with maybe some new balloons.

  20. Yay! Another thing!

  21. Completely off topic, but I would LOVE a Black Friday Gil Deal with discounted donuts and some cool discounted premium items!

  22. I think the duck’s name is Stewart, not Steward.

  23. Hi TSTOAddicts team! Are we expecting a Thanksgiving update this year? I know that ‘ween was a big one, so maybe EA is taking a break and will drop something smaller on us next week?

Thanks for all your hard work; you all are the best!

  24. I got it the other day. Interesting, but not too exciting. I had to look up what episode it even came from.

  25. lame

  26. It would be nice for a regular character task set for this building.
Right now it’s just sitting near the Quimby Compound… looking for customers.
Hmmm… Looks like Moe’s is literally the only place in town for Springfielders to get a drink (at least task-wise).

    • Maybe in the future they’re have some kind of “pub crawl” involving all the adults & bars/nightclubs.

  27. Glad to hear I didn’t miss anything. I was wondering why nothing happened. A little disappointing though. Nonetheless I like it in my town.

  28. Do we know yet if this affects consumerism or gluttony or any other conform-o-meter stats?
