Friendship Level 13: Unlocking Stewart Duck

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers,

How are my favorite Addicted Tappers doing today?   Racking up those FP’s by visiting your neighbors?  Just a reminder, remember to help out your fellow neighbors and clear those handshakes!  Are you in need of more Tapping Friends?  Remember you can always find friends on our Add Friends Page (and here for ones who pledge not to vandalize you)…the best (and only way) to submit your Add Me requests on TSTO Addicts!

So with the Level 47 Update EA also gave us the 13th (and 12th) Social Currency Event Prize…Stewart Duck!  An all new Character for your Springfield!  So now my friends let’s break down this 13th Friendship Prize.  Just want to remind you all with this update it’s important to remember to SLOW DOWN.  There’s no rush to get the FP’s, so take your time and enjoy it!  🙂

Anywho…Stewart Duck is unlocked once you’ve unlocked the Little Black box AND earned an additional 5,000FP…so many of you should be unlocking it sometime in the next few days (depending on how many friends you have).  So what happens when you unlock this character?  Does he do anything?  Are there tasks for Stewart Duck?  What about a questline?  Well let’s answer all of your questions by taking a closer look at Stewart Duck now…

Stewart Duck

Once you’ve completed Friendship Level 12 and earned an additional 5,000 FP you’ll unlock Stewart Duck and you’ll see this message popup:

FP stewart

You can also unlock this via Donuts at a rush rate 500 donuts if you have 0 FP.

Once you return to your Springfield you’ll find Stewart Duck in your Inventory. You will have to go into your inventory to unlock it completely.  It will not automatically be in your Springfield.

duckinventory

Stewart Duck is essentially a whole a new character for your Springfield, and once you add it to your town you’ll see the character unlock message appear:

stewart duck unlock

He will be part of the Animals and Pets Character Collection:

stewart character collection

And that’s basically it for Stewart Duck.  He has no additional dialogue, questline or tasks…and no character interaction.  However, when you tap on him he does flap his wings, so he is animated.

Now that you’ve completed Level 13 and gotten your last Friendship prize, what’s next?  Well it’s onto Level 14.  What does that mean exactly?  Basically the same thing it meant before only a level higher.  You won’t accumulate more points (no FPs will pop out of buildings when you visit friends, or when you clean spray paint in your town, or when you clear handshakes in your Springfield)  instead EA has come up with a different way to encourage you to keep visiting your friends:

level6

Yes, that says TRIPLE the money.  Which means…you’ll earn $90 per friend interaction when visiting neighbors, or $270/neighbor.  Talk about a good way to earn some extra $$$.  If you have 100 neighbors that’s $27,000/day you can earn JUST from visiting your friends!  Pretty sweet huh?  Before you know it that Escalator to Nowhere will be all yours!

Well that’s in my Friends.  What do YOU think of the Stewart Duck making it to the game?  Have you unlocked him yet?  Did you earn it via FP or did you spend donuts to get it faster?  Were you excited they added it to the game?  Sound off in the comments below…you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. I know this thread is old but I just unlocked Stewart Duck. After I place him in my town and collect the XP is there any reason not to store these type of characters? Right now with the Halloween 2015 event I get a lot of lag when lots of stuff is moving on the screen and I want to store the characters that don’t have quests like Homer Dog, Spring, Baseball Mascot, and Stewart Duck. When it says FP goes up it doesn’t mean he has to be out on the street right? Things that increase Tree Hugging Rating or Consumerism can’t be stored if you want that rating – they have to be on display in the town. But the non-earning characters can be stored without any penalty, correct?

  2. Wait ?! Do you get donuts by visiting your friends towns , after you max FPs ?

  3. I earned Stewart the Duck and also bought the Twonicorn. I stored them and all my non-earning characters over the 2014 holidays so I could find elves more easily. Now that I have pulled everyone out of storage, the Twonicorn and Stewart are GONE. Very bummed.

  4. Thank you for posting about the donuts when FP is maxed out- been looking for this for some time, now that I am finally maxed out!

  5. Hello again! A quick, but long (!) question for you, cos I’m starting to get paranoid…

I’ve got 100 neighbours and I visit them all every day. About 2 weeks ago I maxed out my FPs and very happily collected 8 donuts in my first 4 days. Then it started getting worse – only 1 each day for the next 3 days – and now in the last 7 days I’ve only got 1 donut from friends visits. ONE !!!! in SEVEN DAYS! Aaaaaaargh

So, my question is “Why”? Do you think it’s…

    1) I’ve just been ridiculously unlucky
    2) EA have turned down the ‘Get Lucky’ chances for everyone
    3) They’ve turned down the ‘Get Lucky’ chances just for me – although I don’t think I’ve given them any reason to 🙁
    4) The fact that I’ve been culling inactive neighbours and recruiting new ones is somehow adversely affecting my chances
    5) Sending Feds doesn’t give donuts like tapping does
    6) Something else

    Are such bad runs common?

  6. Any luck with mr duck? I’m in the same boat. No duck. I’ve followed the steps above, but no duck. Stored the cooling towers and replaced. Went thru every screen of menu. Reviewed the menu for mr burns – nada. Any ideas? Any I missing something? How does one report it? Thxs – Level 47

  7. Sorry I mean FP not XP

  8. I would like to update my springfield to the Christmas, but if I do that will I lose out on finishing getting Stewart duck? I only need another 1200 XP friend points, the majority of my friends have updated their springfield. Thanks

    • No. Friendship prizes are not timed and not tied to any specific event coming or going. You will still earn FP from visiting friends (with gifts)

  9. I haven’t had a duck for ages – so it’s really good to have a duck in my Springfield.

  10. So, in other words he’s useless. Good to know, now I won’t spend the time worrying about getting him.

  11. Im really close getting the little Stewart duck character. Seems like it takes quite a while to earn that 5000 fp. Even with max friends. But im happy anyway. But I have a question about the glowing neon green alien. Hes gone missing from my town completely. I sent him on the quest to get medicine ( I think that was it) 2 days ago and havent seen him since. Was there something I missed? Or should I contact EA? Has anyone else lost him as well? Just thought is ask? Thanks

    • He is a skin for Mr Burns. If you look in all the buildings his tasks would be and outside and still cant find him, just store the Cooling Towers and pull Mr Burns out of the game. Then put them back and you can place the skin back on Mr Burns.

  12. I seem to experience a glitch with the friendship prices. I received Marge Tetherball for 4000 FP and placed it in my Springfield. But still it shows Marge Tetherball as the next price and I am collecting xxxx/4000 FP. Do you know what to do?

  13. Should have been in plant workers and have at least have one task. Oh well, better than nothing!

  14. Stewart is in my Springfield!! Yesss! Also got the Guitar store, Casino, and the other items offered yesterday!! Fun time re arranging my town making room for them all!! Happy Tappin’… stepingstair :).

  15. I got Stewart Duck today but he is not in my inventory and I definitely never got the unlock message, just the message that I got him when I was visiting neighbors. I even got a donut at the very end of my neighbor visits. I was thinking that maybe he would have showed up when Mr. Burns finished his task because of him working at the power plant in the episode he’s from, but I wrong about that. Is this something that’s happened to others too and has a solution I’m not aware of, or should I be contacting EA?

    • Where in your inventory did you look? Did you see if he is just roaming around your town on the sidewalks?

      • I looked through all of my inventory and faded everything but the roaming characters and didn’t see him. I also noticed that in the Animals & Pets trophy category, it’s still faded as if I hadn’t gotten it.

      • Alright, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something before contacting them. Thanks.

      • alofightslikeagirl

I am having this same problem- got the duck message while visiting friends , but he is not in my inventory to unlock. Looked carefully at each item in inventory, especially under “S” and “D” for Stuart Duck. Shaded all roads/buildings/etc., but he is not in town. Under “animals and pets”, he is dark/shaded as if not earned. I have visited & logged in on Origin/EA website, but when I click on “contact us,” all I get is a white screen. How do I “report to EA?” (I had to contact them in 2012 and I succeeded, but not now.) Any ideas to help?
        Thanks for the help

    • im having the same problem as you. did you report it and get the duck?

  16. Do you still win donuts if you don’t have 100 neighbors? I have several players that don’t tap my blds or have quit playing. Will that hinder my donut haul?

    • You will…the odds are just lessor.

    • If you have neighbours who have quit playing, I recommend that you unfriend them and add some new neighbors. There are always tons of players on the “Add Me” list…no reason to take up space in your Friendville set with “dead” towns, IMHO. I think having a full compliment of active towns is maybe the single best way to prosper in this game!

    • The odds seem to be on a per-tap basis — so the more friends you have, the more you can tap. I’ve never had the full 100 neighbors at one time due to personal time restrictions but I usually get donuts at least once per day when visiting neighbors while I have maxed out FP. Currently, I have around 75 fairly-active neighbors, mostly found on the add-me pages here.

      • I tend to get a donut a day – a great reason to do it. On average, that’s more donuts per month than in-level upgrades from my overlord tax slums, errr, I mean house farms. It sure keeps me in little extras. And every couple of days I’ll get a second donut. I have about 70 friends in all. (Most from the fine people found here.)

    • Yes, you can still win donuts, it’s a per-tap chance. A very low one, but it’s always there. (Just like there’s a small chance of a donut every time you have Homer or Lisa clean up nuclear waste in town.)

That said, I used to not do anything about my missing-in-action neighbor-eenos until I reached 100 total (many thanks to TSTOA’s add-friend posts). During regular times, it’s not that big a deal, but it becomes a bigger issue during the events, when we -want- to be able to visit friends’ towns and not have all their buildings used up or to have them come visit us in our towns to drop gremaliens or xmas presents or whatever.

So, every couple of months, I go into my in-game neighbors list and look for anyone who’s been offline for two months or more. I figure that’s long enough to be sure they’re not just taking a temporary hiatus from the game.

Then, after removing them, I post here in TSTOA to ask for more active players to please add me, and I look to add folks myself. I’m totally fine with people who aren’t max level, but I do look for “daily player” in their comments.

  17. I think it would be cool if Stewart had a 16-hour Plant Shift task like the other plant workers. It could be animated, and Stewart could run around the Control Building’s parking lot.

  18. I get anywhere from 1 to 4 donuts per day when FP is maxed out, and tapping all 100 friends. (It’s usually around 2 though)

  19. Max I got in one day was 4 donuts, envious of 6!

    • I had five donuts in a day once upon a time. I think it was my third day after getting max friend points (I have this site to thank for that!). It was about Stonecutters’s time. I normally get 0/1 donuts a day now 🙁

    • I got 5 doughnuts today! I know it’s lucky and unusual, but it just goes to show that it does happen.

  20. You said: “Just want to remind you all with this update it’s important to remember to SLOW DOWN. There’s no rush to get the FP’s, so take your time and enjoy it! :)”

You might want to rethink telling people to slow down when it comes to Friend tapping. There is a very good reason not to slow down when it comes to Friend tapping, and you said it yourself:

“Yes, that says TRIPLE the money. Which means…you’ll earn $90 per friend interaction when visiting neighbors, or $270/neighbor. Talk about a good way to earn some extra $$$. If you have 100 neighbors that’s $27,000/day you can earn JUST from visiting your friends!”

And don’t forget the random doughnuts you can get once you get into the bonus round. Freemium players, like myself- rely on these doughnuts. And it’s nothing to sneeze at either. I average 1-3 doughnuts a day in the bonus round. That can add up to 100-300 doughnuts a year! So the quicker you get your FP’s the quicker you can start/resume getting free doughnuts.

    • Correct but also look at the flip side. If players DO NOT slow down and take a break now and then, they’ll burn out on the game as it becomes more a chore than fun.

It’s there as a helpful tool as we see from our side player after player walking away from the game due to they feel it’s too much busy busy work all the time. The grind WILL get to you if you don’t take a break.

      • I agree that some people might want to consider slowing down when it comes to building their Springfield, but I don’t see any reason to slow down with friend actions. If you’re serious about the game (in a fun way-of course), then you should visit all of your friends every day. There’s no reason not to visit your friends every day. It benefits everyone involved. It’s not about how fast you play the game, it’s about ones daily friend actions. Does that make sense?

  21. I was so happy when I got Stewart. He’s super cute.

  22. I really want that raccoon. Hope I can get him for Christmas.

  23. Don’t forget to mention that in addition to the Triple $, you can randomly earn donuts. With a full contingent of friends, you can earn 1-2 donuts per day.

    • Homer: Mmm, donuts!

      • Gotta get my FP maxed out — those free donuts have been my best source of premium content in this game. Halloween was very good, but of course it is over, but my appetite for free donuts is not over yet.

    • With full FP, I’ve gotten 2 donuts from friends EVER. Who is getting 1-2 per day??? =(

      • I almost always get at least one doughnut a day. It’s rare that I ever get zero doughnuts in any given day. I think the most I ever got in one day was five or six. But that’s also very rare. The math has shown that you will get on average one doughnut per 200 Friend actions. So if you have 100 friends, that’s 300 actions per day. So you should get 1-2 doughnuts a day on average. Sometimes more, sometimes less. You won’t get a doughnut every 200 actions. You have a 1 in 200 chance per every action. Thus the variation in doughnut hauls.

    • I’ve gotten up 6 donuts by visiting friends in one day. It doesnt happen often but every now and then it does.
