In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?
This post I will be going over the Origin of Stewart the Duck & The Little Black Box. Why is this animal in our game? Where did it appear in an episode? Why is he hauling nuclear waste? What is with the building? Why is it named after a part in an airplane? Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.
Season 5, Episode 9: The Last Temptation of Homer
After messing around in the Plant. Homer gets the Dangerous Emissions Supervisor fired. Well, sucked through a test tube to the Middle East somewhere. (Monty and Smithers of course start a money fight.)
Later the Department of Labor breaks in and lets Burns know the plant is violating every Labor Law in the book. Mr. Burns states he still stands by his hiring policies…as he yells at Stewart the Duck to get back to work.
Season 6, Episode 11: Fear of Flying
After a set of pranks went too far when Homer unscrewed the cap on the sugar, Homer finds himself kicked out of Moe’s. Banned for life from it. So now Homer has to go in search of a new place so he won’t be so depressed.
He tries a multitude of different locations. Some too classy. Some reminiscent of OTHER TV Shows. NORM!!! Some places where he is the ONLY man in there, but it didn’t have a fire exit…so out he goes. He even tries to go back to Moe’s disguised…oh wait…that WASN’T Homer. Oops. Guess they beat up the wrong guy.
He finally ends up at The Springfield Airport, which just so happens to have a bar. The Little Black Box. It is the LAST bar in Springfield. He quickly finds out you gotta be a pilot to drink there. So he pretends to be a pilot so he can drink there and ends up getting pulled into flying to the Windy City and promptly crashes the plane…by pulling up the wheels at Terminal before take off.
A Duck Employee at the Power Plant and a bar at the Airport have now found there way into our games. What do you think of them? Did you get enough FP on neighbor visits yet to win them? Did you have an idea where they showed up? Let us know.
