Should I Spend Donuts on the Heimlich Machine?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s Turkey Time in Springfield!  But what happens if you get a piece of that turkey stuck?!  Who’ll be there to help give the Hemilich?!  Well…this Thanksgiving EA thought of the perfect solution…the Heimlich Machine!

Wondering if you should add the Heimlich Machine to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this squeezing apparatus to YOUR Springfield!

                       Heimlich Machine

Decoration: Heimlich Machine
Donut Price: 60 donuts
Bonus %: 2.5% on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100

Pros:
-Comes with a short task/questline
-Animated when in use
-Unlocks a permanent task for Puritan Flanders
-Decent bonus %

Cons:
-Strange addition for Thanksgiving
-Can be hard to fit into Springfield
-Only Puritan Flanders uses it…

Final Thought:
Personally, out of the Thanksgiving decorations added this year this is one I’d say buy.  It’s reasonably priced, offers a decent bonus % and has a hilarious task associated with it!  If you’re going to buy a premium decoration this Thanksgiving…this is the one I’d pick!

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you this is one I plan on buying before the event is over.   Just remember…whatever you decide this IS Limited-Time so be sure to make your decision before Thanksgiving leaves Springfield! (looks like it’s set to leave 12/2)

They’re Hotter Than H.E. Double Hockey Sticks!:
This  is what pops up if you purchase it

Sacagawea Lisa: Is something the matter, Mr. Flanders?  Your face is red, and you’re sweating profusely.
Puritan Flanders: Lisa, I ate some of those delicious-looking cherry tomatoes but it feels like they jumped my GI tract.
Sacagawea Lisa: Oh, no!  Those were habanero peppers!  They’re 120 times hotter than jalapenos.
Puritan Flanders: UGGHH!  Gotta get ’em out!  Gotta get ’em out!
Homer: There’s only two ways to get them out: pump or dump.  I’d prefer “pump.”  And luckily there’s a Heimlich Machine to do just that.
Puritan Flanders: The habaneros!  They’re still burning!  Make it stop.
Homer: Just get on the machine, stupid, spicy Flanders.
Puritan Flanders: Human Heimlichers replaced by machines?!  This Peter Piper has a pepper to pick with that!
Place the Heimlich Machine
Make Puritan Flanders Use the Heimlich Machine- 16hrs, Earns $750, 200xp

And looks like this:

  1. I think it fits perfectly with Thanksgiving.

In my science park looks very nice though etanmi idea is a good one. Only complaint I have is in my b game I bought it by accident wheni had built up 150 doughnuts in this freemium game and looking for a building.

Lesson learnt don’t play tapped out when one has had a predinner dry sherry……..;-)

  2. Good article, but my personal take is this;

Considering that you get +2% items for 40 d’oh!-nuts…
    (Or sometimes for 30!)

…And me being “precise” about where to spend that premium currency, the machine (costing 60 donuts) “should” give +3% instead +2.5% to be “worth it”.
    For me.

That’s why I will NOT buy it. =)
(And why I would advice against it.)

  3. This isn’t available for me to purchase! Do I have to complete a quest to trigger it’s availability?

  4. 1st – a well written article and the choice is personal to buy or not buy

2nd – I won’t spend real $ on anything (personal decision) but if I did? It would be buildings that come with a character that offer permanent tasks + generate $ and XP points (ie Barney with his Bowling Alley)

3rd – while we’ve gotten a few costs game $ or costs donuts items for the Pier (hey EA, make it so us maxxed out on pier space can buy 24 more squares, please) and Kristy’s Theme Park recently ? I hope Xmas Quest 2014 offers something for both sections that’s not all premium

4th – love Tiki Bar and Lorry (Truck) with the mouse traps (click on both and smile)

    Gobble Gobble tomorrow everyone 🙂

  5. >whatever you decide she IS Limited-Time
    >she
    A lady machine, eh? 😉

Not for my, I think. Too expensive. Too obscure.

  6. it is odd for Thanksgiving, since it was in the “Maximum Homerdrive” episode and was in the Slaughterhouse restaurant! (ok I just accidentally saw it this week lol I would have not remembered it )

  7. I love it! But I think I’ll pass, because I know my donuts will be well spent this Xmas event.

  8. You had me at buy up until the 16hr task. It would have been nice if the gave puritan flanders an 8hr task to round out his task list

  9. I love this and I placed it in front of the Super Smorg, it fits perfectly there because where else would you need an automated Heimlich machine besides near a place where you can pig out like that.

  10. My app has been updating constantly, like up to two times per day lately. Has there been that many updates lately? it is very annoying because it is downloading over 400 MB each time. Is there something I can do so I am not updating every other time I open the game? It is making me not want to play when it takes 5-10 minutes to get my game open.

    • Sounds like something didn’t fully take on your device. All I can suggest is you need to clear cache/data, uninstall the app, restart the device, reinstall the app, launch the app again. See if that helps. Just make sure you have your Origin ID log in handy and enough space on your device for the app. (It takes at least 2GB on mine)

    • Sometimes just turning your phone completely off for a few minutes and turning it back on does the trick. Works in a lot of cases like this. Good luck.

  11. I bought it, I’m a collector of everything, and it was a decently priced item. I don’t see myself using it though.

    *****

  12. I’d personally pass. Vanity’s the easiest rating to come by and there are some characters that are a better option for that, or near that, doughnut price.

  13. When do the thanksgiving decorations leave Springfield?

  14. This is a pass for me. Price is ok and the bonus is nice, but I have no place for a decoration like this in my town. Also, only one task and it’s a 16h job..

  15. That would look pretty spiffy sitting next to a donut torture machine!
