Again, you have plenty of time for these tasks. The 24 hour timer starts as soon as you being the first task. You can still complete the tasksĀ past the 24 hour time, but you will NOT get the bonus 100 Gifts. So I suggest plan ahead to hit the timer BEFORE 24 hrs if you need those Extra Bonus 100 Gifts Each day.

Just finished this tunnel and it’s nice to have the Van Houten house decorated now, but it seems odd to me that the Flanders’ wouldn’t be one if the first to decorate their house! I think their house should have come before the Van Houten’s…

Womp womp no bonus today. The tunnel quests + lengthy story line tasks are requiring a heck of a lot of time management.
It’s funny – I had the opposite problem today. I realized I couldn’t finish today’s tunnel on time if I started it today, so I just now sent Ned on his 12-hour task to be done overnight. The questline I was at had Santa at Moe’s for most of the day, so, basically, I had nothing to do today in the game and I was b-o-r-e-d! The time management stuff can be stressful, but I prefer that to today’s boredom. (Of course, if I were working today and/or not stuck in bed with a medical disability right now, maybe I’d feel very differently…)
I think Ned did that thing where I started a task before closing a game, but the timer didn’t start until I started the game back up. Looks like I’m missing the bonus presents on this one.
Anyone know if the grumple will be making an appearance this year? I got him last year, great quest line, but would like to see some action between frosty the hitman and the grumple. A tag team or maybe a great deal of hatred. Maybe this could get them arrested, i don’t know! But this all relays on the grumple making a reappearance…………
I believe he will be coming as Christmas gets closer…

Just got an in game update…looks like it added some locked tasks to Santa, but NOW I can’t open my elf tunnel. Boo.
All good now, just needed to restart the game.
I apologize if this is covered somewhere else,but when is a task considered complete- when the amount of time for the task runs or only once you hit the yellow thumbs up? Thanks.

HELP!! I noticed an update hit my game and after it loaded, I became locked out of the tunnels. I tried tapping on the icon in the upper right and on the tunnel itself and nothing. The only way I can get to the tunnel is by tapping task book and then on the Santa icon associated with it. But all that does is let me look at the doors, it won’t let me in any of the doors. I have about 7 hours before I really need to be able to access the tunnel but I’m worried that I won’t be able to get in later. Is anyone else having this problem?
Go to Krustyland and come back. Or hard close and come back.

(I’ve spent too much time trying to find your original post on this subject and replying to it instead of this slate of posts but) I want to thank the Addicts for not revealing upcoming gifts, prizes, things you can buy, etc. And I wish that other people posting to this site wouldn’t either.
I like how they feel about this game to be played “in the now” and enjoyed without knowing what will happen next week. It’s worse than Homer coming out of Star Wars and blabbing about Darth Vader.

Don’t post this if there might be problems with “those” posters. I will be sixty next month. I remember Leslie Rubineck in third grade, after dragging him to the principals office coming back into class that President Kennedy was shot. Then, Watergate, Viet Nam, being pushed into a locker as a White Cracker in high school by a black student (before African American was the word of the day) in my high school while police dogs walked the hallways, I remember seeing the Shuttle blow up when my children were pre-school . and on and on…..
As you can see, this game is really about entertainment. And I DO appreciate all that you do. LIve is an ever ending story of events and we need to keep aaeare fo what their importance are.

I wish we can purchase some nutcrackers in the upcoming weeks. I’m super stoked to get more lights but I want some of the nutcrackers to decorate my town.
Good morning all! When I tried to open today’s elf tunnel, it would not open, tried everything only wat I could open was to turn off tablet & restart, that worked. Not a biggie, but wanted to pass along in case it helped other tappers.

Talking a gamble that this will make it through moderation within the next few minutes (and a really will likewise…).
Today’s tunnel tasks would leave me waking up on the middle if the night to finish if I can’t stack them (i.e. start the gift-exchange task ahead of time and just complete it after Ned finishes his 12-hour task). Does anyone know for sure whether the gift exchange task will appear once I get the think to officially start by doing the kook task? (The gift exchange task is definitely not there now.)

Yay – someone gave me the info I needed about this on a different thread! It turns out, if it’s a special task (one that’s not normally on the character’s task list), it won’t show up until the previous tunnel task is complete. She confirmed it even for this specific situation… The gift exchange task will NOT appear until Ned’s task is done.
So great when we can all share info like this with each other… This info will keep me from losing the bonus for today’s tunnel!
Just hit the 5,000 present mark this morning. I must say that I really like the Xmas skin for the church… Jebus is rockin’ it old school lol
Pretty easy for me today, thank goodness…wake up at 0500, get the Frinkster to visit the toy shop 3 times (other kooks were busy….ooops!), Ned can do his 12 hrs while I’m at work, then the youngsters tonight. And if I fall asleep before they finish, I should have about 1 whole minute tomorrow AM to finish them for the bonus. š
And in the meantime, I have Homer on a 16 hour Santa task.

Just wanted to let you know about an issue I had with the daily elf cave today. I got an elf in the daily prizes today, and when I tried to open the cave today nothing would happen. I would get the sound effect when I clicked on the tunnel as well as the “click” sound when I pressed the icon in the upper right corner but the elf tasks would not open. If I clicked on Santa in the left task menu it would open the list, but if I tapped the door for today it would make the click sound but not open. I then went into KL and I saw an elf flying around. After taking a picture I went back to Springfield and the elf was now flying around looking lost. I followed him to the workshop, and after that I was able to start the daily task. Just wanted to pass this on in case anyone else has this issue.
On another note I’m not too thrilled about the nutcracker prize as I bought several of them last year. I guess we do have to have some sort of “fence” for a prize though huh? š

Well….. To collect the prizes before the 24 hours, you’d almost have to set an alarm. 16 hours 45 seconds makes for a long day. Start at 6am, don’t finish until after 10pm. Seems like it’s taking longer & longer. I think EA should make it 14 hours max. JMHO
It’s still better than Stonecutters. A lot of those were REALLY tight.

Well, the one good thing is that, since the clock doesn’t start until you do the first task, you can start this tunnel shortly before bed, leave Ned to do his thing overnight, then finish up the gift-exchange task in the morning. (So, for me, it’ll be something like Ned from 9pm-9am, with kids done by about 1pm… Plenty of time for wiggle room in that, too.)
But I’ll miss having a tunnel task to keep me working today though… Maybe I’ll spend some time today doing non-TSTO things for a change lol!
I can see the hard part today is going to be making sure I don’t accidentally click on the kooks’ task all day today….that’s going too be a challenge, since I’m often tapping madly to fly through sending all my characters on their tasks each hour. Wish me luck!
I just don’t send anyone on a task if it’s not for a tunnel. Just to be sure. Or I send them on tasks that have the same duration as the current tunnel task. You never know š

No, you just have to complete all the tunnels.
So if you complete the tunnel in longer then 24hrs it’s still counts as a completed tunnel, am I right? I’m not gonna make it today.. 16hrs is way too difficult to complete in one day..
Yes it counts as a completed tunnel.
I like the idea of having the christmas decoration from previous year available for the new starters AND the old ones getting additional stuff from last year OR new lightnings for another building. That is exactly what I like at the moment for this years Christmas event. PLUS: the additional Christmas Tree/Elf house and so on earn Event Currency..I have my third tree – from 2012-2014 I got one each year for free.
It mist be said. The prizes are a bit disappointing if you unlocked the house skins last christmases (is that even a word?).
That said this Christmas update is fun. The Holiday Trees from last years give presents again. So the Winter 2014 part 1 prizes are coming up nicely.
If you must be on elf level 9 to be able to place Feds in friends’ towns & today is level 8, how have a few of my neighbors been able to place Feds in my town since yesterday? There is a 24 hour wait between levels, correct?
No. That’s where you are in the questline…not the daily tasks.

Another Festive Nutcracker? So far the prizes seem to be a repeat of last year… I like the daily tasks itself but, for me, the motivation in completing them is the 100 gifts rather than the previous years prizes.
It’s my 1st Christmas but I find it difficult to get excited about house decorations, and the festive nutcracker wouldn’t raise my heartbeat either. I hope the gift collection will be worth it. Not that there’s any guarantee I’ll get enough for the ‘big’ prize…
